The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for effective troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventative maintenance of facility electrical distribution systems and equipment in an industrial setting. • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and code specifications to determine lay-out of industrial equipment and installations
• Conduct planned preventive & predictive maintenance and keep maintenance records
• Actively participate in preventive maintenance program on building equipment processing equipment daily
• Efficient production equipment set up, inspection and shutdown of all related equipment when required, including process changeovers
• Assist in planning, organizing of work activities (drawing interpretation, parts preparation)
• Program, troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial equipment and automation including PLCs, HMI, frequency drives, temperature control and other related devices

What You’ll Bring:

• Certified Journeyman Electrician with 1-2 years’ experience. Preference to those with proof of completing the Industrial Apprenticeship Program
• Knowledge of conveyors, motors, pumps / compressor, electrical / electronic controls and high speed packaging equipment
• Strong working knowledge of HMI's, electric motor controls, programmable logic controllers, basic wiring circuits and skills necessary to safely test common electrical systems and make minor repairs where permitted
• 442A or 309A license required

The Role:
Maple Leaf Foods at 643 Speedvale Ave. W., in Guelph is accepting applications for an Shipper/Receiver within our Prepared Meats Plant which specializes in Lunches, Snacking, & Charcuterie products. Duties may include:

• Pre-operational inspections, operation, and shutdown of all related equipment for efficient and safe operation (i.e., Forklifts, Counterbalance, Motorized walkie, Pump cart, Scanners)
• Thorough, accurate, and neat completion of forms form.
• Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures for product components and packaging materials (i.e.; FIFO procedures)
• Load and receive trailers (live load from the line) and inventory counting
• Employees will be required to complete aptitude testing (reading comprehension, written communications, numeracy)
• Other duties as assigned

Hours of Work:

• Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday overtime.

The Health & Safety Specialist will be responsible for a wide variety of initiatives in the areas of Health & Safety. As the first-point in contact for all Health & Safety program-related issues, the incumbent must be able to balance competing priorities and act with urgency. • Responsible to create, revise, and implement Health & Safety policies and procedures
• Provide guidance to all hourly and salary employees on the interpretation of H & S policies
• Arrange annual training programs while supporting the functional leaders in implementation and monitoring progress
• Support supervisors and maangers on accident investigations, review to ensure a thorough root cause analysis has been completed, and validate all corrective actions have been implemented in a timely and effective manner

• Champions all OHS Management System Audits
• Co-Chairs as a management rep on the Joint Health & Safety Committee and all related initiatives
• Coordinates OHS training with external vendors as well as developing and delivering in-house OHS Training
• Liaise with WSIB or other external service providers, employees and management team regarding WSIB claims and Early and Safe Return to Work.
• Manage and support Early and Safe Return to Work program including working with supervisors to monitor modified duties internally or externally prescribed
• Administration of required Health and Safety forms
• Conducts Health & Safety Orientation for all employees
• Ensure site specific Emergency Response Plan is kept up to date and all Emergency Response team members are equipped with their responsibilities
• Continually review programs including cut glove, ergonomics, mental health, etc for opportunities for improvement
• Supports HR Manager on employee relations issues and execution of Positive Employee Relations Strategy and initiatives
• Part of the SLT (Senior Leadership Team)

What You’ll Bring:

• 2-3 years of previous experience within the Health & Safety function (Preference will be given to candidates who have completed or are in the process of pursing CRSP designation)
• Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act and WSIB Claims Management
