Facility Supervisor Full-time Job

SUMMARY

The Facility Supervisor ensures that client facilities are operated and maintained cost-effectively, safely, efficiently as per the operating parameters of the Statement of Work and management contract.  This job is accountable for the management, financial and operational performance of a facility or group of facilities within a region.  The Facility Supervisor is the primary BGIS representative for day-to-day contact with the Client and the Tenants for performance of the contract.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

People Leadership

Demonstrates strong, competent leadership for team members to guide them in reaching their full potential and meeting their objectives, which supports achievement of our corporate goals. Specifically, these responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Full involvement with recruiting talent.
  • Provides mentoring, coaching and guidance to all team members.
  • Objectively recommends compensation adjustments.
  • Manages all aspects of performance.
  • Supervise Team Members including directing activities, establishing goals and objectives, performance evaluation and communicating vision for operations and maintenance; supervise Maintenance Team Leader (MTL) with a team of greater than ten (10) Team Members including Technicians, Tenant Service Coordinators, Property Service Coordinators, Admin Assistants, Facility Manager I etc.

Financial control

  • Responsible for the development of budgets (O&M, Transaction {rents etc.} and capital project expenditures) and be able to defend the logic to superiors and clients.
  • Using Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions financial reports, perform monthly budget analyse and reforecast allocations as necessary.
  • Meet annual targets as per contractual performance indicator.

Facility Management

  • Manages facilities with square footage between 500,000 and one million.  Properties have multiple tenants and moderately complex building operations component e.g. HVAC system, life safety system etc.
  • Liaison with Client and Tenant on day-to-day facility management activities.
  • Develop and maintain complex preventative and corrective maintenance schedules; perform all maintenance to ensure asset integrity and value of all building systems and architectural components.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and legislated policies, procedures, practices and guidelines related to environmental, building code and health and safety issues by applying cursory knowledge of legislation related to these areas.

Sub-contracts for services and goods:

  • Prepare tender documents for RFP, tender and analyse bids.
  • Negotiate best possible terms and prepare contract documents.
  • Approve service contracts up to authority level.
  • Monitor sub-contractor performance.

Annual Building Inspection (ABI)

  • Perform annual inspection of all sites and evaluate the condition of all building components.
  • Derive a project plan.

Tenant Service work

  • Evaluate tenant requests and demonstrate expertise by recommending cost saving or otherwise more beneficial alternatives.

Performance Evaluators

  • Monitor results of various contract service performance indicators and develop action plan for deviations.
  • Meet all service level performance indicators.
  • Perform simple cost benefit analysis.
  • Prepare strategic analysis of properties considering financial indicators, market analysis and long-term project plans.
  • Monitor service level request from clients and ensure that they are within the scope of the contract; prepare service level change orders as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Five to ten years’ experience in a property/facility management environment.

  • Proactively foster and promote the safe work habits of employees.  Ensure proper safety policies and procedures are followed. Active participation in health & safety initiatives, taking a lead role in safety optimization in the drive towards zero incidents.
  • Administer supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Assist in preparation for, completion, review and follow up on audits.
  • Recommend methods of improving productivity of employees
  • Responsible for staffing and development of personnel on their respective shifts
  • Work closely with other Shift Supervisors and Production Manager to achieve production goals and KPI’s efficiently.
  • Win with customers and consumers by ensuring all product quality specifications are being followed and adhered to, with an emphasis on minimizing variance.
  • Ensure all HACCP guidelines, rules and regulations are followed throughout the food production process, including the proper completion of all required documentation.
  • Oversee performance management system for employees including performance appraisals, coaching and progressive discipline as required.
  • Develop the continuous improvement spirit through the support of Lean Sigma principles and MDI events.

Required Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Competencies)

  • Minimum five years supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Degree/diploma in a related discipline (Agriculture, Engineering, Business, and Food Science) is preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of experience and educational qualifications.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal & written).
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently using effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong leadership, reasoning and judgement will be required to facilitate proper planning and implementation.

 

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, and controls; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

The Details: 


This is a part-time position that will start asap. The hours will average 20 to 30 per week but may increase up to 40 per week depending on the needs of the business and candidates' availability. 

Wage: $19.50 / Hour 
KM Reimbursement: $0.62 / KM between Stores
Workdays: Monday to Sunday
Hours: Variable, 20-30 hours per week.
Day Shifts: Scheduled between 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and replenish products in store racks, shelves, displays, and coolers by transporting product between backroom/storage room to front-of-store with manual or powered equipment (pallet jack, hand-truck).
  • Build, change or remove product displays while adhering to company standards; maintaining product signage; cleaning product space and securing damaged or defective product.
  • Repetitively lift, carry and position product (weight up to 50lbs or 22kgs) above shoulder height without assistance.
  • Consistent kneeling, squatting and reaching above the head.
  • Manage backroom by organizing stock (product); identifying, monitoring, and reporting inventory levels; evaluating and processing damaged product; re-packing product; organizing backroom materials (i.e., pallets, product shells etc.); completing any required paperwork.
  • Follow all Coke Canada Bottling and Store policies regarding backroom, display floor, replenishment, equipment, and safety.
  • Maintain an orderly and clean work area in compliance with Company safety and sanitation requirements.    
  • Maintain professional relationships with co-workers and customers.
  • Ability to push and pull manual and powered equipment (i.e. pallet jack, hand-truck etc.) containing product loads for a minimum of 100 yards without assistance.
  • Ability to repetitively grasp and manipulate objects of varying size and weight requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.

Qualifications

  • Must be 17 years of age.
  • A valid class 5 provincial driver’s license.
  • Must have a reliable personal vehicle for use during working hours.
  • Must have current vehicle liability insurance.  
  • Provide a clean driving record with no major violations over the last three (3) years.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience working in grocery, retail, warehousing or related field preferred.

Coke Canada Bottling Bulk Drivers are responsible for the delivery of pre-ordered products to assigned accounts. This is a short-haul role and all driving will be locally based, but there are a few routes per week that may require overnights. 

 

The Details:

This is a Full-time position that will start ASAP. Standard work week is 40 hours with the potential for overtime during our peak seasons. 

 

Wage: $32.69

Schedule: Monday-Thursday (10Hrs), or Monday-Friday (8Hrs), Potential for overnight routes

Hours: 40 hours/week

Responsibilities

  • Deliver pre-ordered products to customers on assigned route using a Coke Canada Bottling fleet truck.
  • Check accuracy and stability of truck load.
  • Maintain professional relationships with co-workers and customers.
  • Offload products and bring into the customer’s location.
  • Merchandise product into customer location as needed.
  • Collect company property.
  • Follow all Coke Canada Bottling and Store policies regarding backroom, display floor, replenishment, equipment, and safety.
  • Maintain professional relationships with co-workers and customers.

Qualifications

  • Commercial License with Air (Class 1 or AZ) with no major violations over the last three (3) years.
  • One (1) plus year of commercial driving experience.
  • One to three years of general work experience.
  • Local delivery experience preferred.
  • Ability to repetitively lift, carry and position product (weight up to 50lbs or 22kgs) above shoulder height without assistance.
  • Ability to push and pull manual and powered equipment (i.e. pallet jack, hand-truck etc.) containing product loads for a minimum of 100 yards without assistance.
