The IT External Customer Experience team is responsible for day-to-day software application support and planning. This includes researching, analyzing, defining, recommending, developing/configuring, testing, implementing and supporting IT Business Solutions for Canadian Blood Services in collaboration with client groups and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
In this role, you will be involved in all aspects of the software development process including business analysis, requirements gathering or use case development, system design, software development, testing, implementation and maintenance utilizing industry leading tools such as IntelliJ, Git, OpenShift, and the Atlassian tool suite.

- Harnessing your technical expertise, you will utilize modern programming/web technologies/frameworks such as Angular, CSS, SQL, Object-Oriented Design, REST web microservices (built in Java), Drupal, SharePoint, PowerApps, Office365, Azure, Agile, etc., to collaboratively develop innovative applications in conjunction with other IT business systems.
- Drawing on your extensive experience in software development and IT systems, you will expertly handle database modeling design, queries, test data preparation, program and system testing, as well as provide exceptional support and maintenance for existing systems.
- Leveraging your skills and experience in technology assessment and analysis, you will continuously assess business and user needs, conducting in-depth analyses to identify opportunities for harnessing existing and innovative technology solutions.
- Drawing on your track record of successfully leading collaborative teams, you will excel in managing projects and providing mentorship/coaching to junior software developers and business systems analysts, including direct supervision of day-to-day activities.
- Capitalizing on your excellent communication skills, you will engage in insightful discussions with internal business partners and IT service groups, employing agile software development methodologies to drive new system development initiatives and enhance existing systems.
Desired education and skills
- Successful completion of post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably a University Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent e.g. diploma and/or training in database management systems, operating systems, and/or networks
- Minimum 10 years of experience in agile development and designing business applications in supply chain, pharmaceutical, biologics, or similar industries, with expertise in user experience design and customer service management.
- Recent (minimum 2 years) experience in Angular and REST development is essential.
- You will be highly skilled in object-oriented design, Java programming, building responsive web interfaces (e.g., Angular), deploying applications on web application servers, and relational database modeling design.

JOB SUMMARY
Fleet Maintenance & Technical Services is responsible for: scheduled, unscheduled and emergency service; seasonal overhauls; vehicle commissioning/decommissioning; vehicle inspections and certifications; warranty monitoring; shop and specialty tool maintenance/management; maintenance of small equipment and special equipment such as fire, ambulance, ice resurfacing, turf, etc.; repair performance analysis; and Technical Services including specifying, acquiring, leasing and disposing of Municipal Fleet Vehicles.
You are responsible for performing a wide range of duties expected of a Vehicle and Equipment Technician 1, including, but not limited to, the following: conducting diagnostic inspections, performing general mechanical overhaul and repair work, and performing scheduled preventive daily maintenance inspections and repairs on vehicle system and components including, but not limited to, steering, suspension, electrical, ignition, fuel, emission control/exhaust and engine management, hydraulics, and vehicular climate control systems.
You perform all maintenance and repairs to a wide variety of fleet vehicles systems and components including, but not limited to, vehicles powered by gas, diesel, propane or natural gas, tractors, graders, loaders, dozers, cranes, mowers, cars, heavy vehicles (up to 9000 Kilograms), and automotive associated equipment including, but not limited to, boilers and compressors.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Completion of Automotive Service Technician 310S apprenticeship program of 7220 hours
Minimum of 2 years of experience within a Municipal Fleet or similar automotive environment
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES

- Ability make estimates of materials and time required to perform the work
- Ability to proceed effectively with emergency work including on the road work with limited resources to provide maximum results and timelines
- Skill in the use of jacks, hoists, overhead cranes, lift trucks and mobile lifting devices
- Skill in the use of high-pressure gas and electric welding equipment (Mig. Arc. Bronze, steel, aluminum) to effect repairs as authorised under the technician license
- Possess analytical skills and be detail oriented
- Good manual dexterity and ability to work to close tolerances
- Able to tolerate exposure to moderate amounts of noise, dust, grit, oil/grease, fumes, solvents, paints, lacquers, hot/sharp metals and surface finishing products
- Able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with management, manufacturers and engineers to provide for problem solving and suggest corrections to problems found on specialized vehicles and equipment
- Ability to provide training and explain instructions and guidelines to others effectively
- Able to efficiently use, operate and maintain tools, precision measuring instrument, state-of-the-art automotive diagnostic and test equipment to diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic malfunctions

JOB SUMMARY
The mandate of Long Term Care Services is to provide resident care based on the needs of individuals, as determined by medical, nursing, functional and psychosocial assessments, and on each resident’s expressed needs. The care provided in each Home includes specialized, restorative, supportive and palliative care for persons with dementia, disabilities and health problems who cannot live independently in their homes, and whose needs cannot be met in the community.
You are responsible for primary health care including clinical, counselling and referral services within the scope of practice and standards of care as outlined in the Regulated Health Professionals Act (RHPA) and the College of Nurses of Ontario for residents of the Long Term Care Homes. As an autonomous health professional with advanced education, you will provide comprehensive health assessments, diagnose health/ illness conditions, and treat and manage acute and chronic illness within a holistic model of care. Your Nurse Practitioner (NP) competencies will reflect advanced nursing practice by building and expanding upon the competencies of a registered nurse. You will function as a member of a multidisciplinary team, and ensure collaboration with the resident, family or caregiver and the health team in the development, implementation and evaluation of a resident’s plan of care.
Additionally, you will support the provision of leadership and mentorship to long term care home staff that enhances knowledge, assessment skills and the ability to support care for residents in place and by leading and collaborating in research, education and evidence-based practice initiatives to optimize the resident, long term care home and health system outcomes.
You will be accountable to the LTC Administrator and functionally accountable (for clinical practice issues) to the Medical Director and to the College of Nurses of Ontario for NP practice issues.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of a 4-year university degree in Nursing (BScN)
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in long term care or other geriatric setting.
Completion of a certificate demonstrating “Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner” from an approved University.
CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES

- Knowledge of long-term care sector, relevant regulations/legislation, resident profiles, challenges and opportunities, roles and responsibilities, reporting requirements and health system navigation
- Knowledge of and ability to apply chronic disease frameworks
