  • Package Handler Trainer: Trains other PHs on loading, unloading, palletizing, and scanning techniques in order to ensure efficient and safe movement of packages through the operation.
  • Package Handler – Air: Responsible for a multi-step package inspection process to ensure packages that are “Air Restricted” are not loaded into an air container.

 

Essential Functions

  • Utilizes “hand-to-surface” methods for all package handling.
  • Loads and unloads packages onto or from delivery vehicles, trailers, pallets, conveyor system carts and load gratings.
  • Lifts, carries, pushes and pulls packages on a continuous and repetitive basis for approximate shift of 3-5 hours, with potential of working one or more shifts each day

3. Follows established guidelines for occasional cleaning and maintenance of the restrooms, handling chemicals and following correct disposal procedures and the use of power equipment including inspection report completion before use.
4. Adheres to safety and emergency procedures, ensuring guidelines are being followed properly for hazardous communications, lockout/tagout and blood borne pathogens.
5. Maintains Cart Retrieval Log at Customer Service Desk.
6. Contributes to a safe, clean and hazard free work environment through adherence to Company policy and procedures.
7. Promotes safety by use of personal protective equipment by wearing steel toe footwear and the proper reflective vest during cart collection for visibility.
8. Completes safety sweeps as required.

The mandate of Traffic Services is to provide all traffic operations, road safety, traffic investigations and traffic management in the City of Ottawa.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

You are accountable for providing vision, leadership and strategic direction to the Service, and planning, organizing, directing, controlling, evaluating, and improving the development and delivery of its priorities, services, programs and operations. 

You will focus on program integration to work with and best support priority populations. You will advance service delivery models that not only ensure quality, seamless services, but also deliver on OPH strategic priorities including diversity, equity and inclusion, employee well-being and development and measuring our impact. 

You are responsible for establishing and maintaining positive, meaningful client relationships with diverse internal and external management, partners and interest-holders; serving as a spokesperson and liaison to key community and provincial partners related to Ottawa Public Health programs and services, to interpret public health policies, objectives and roles to the public; and working to enhance community and funder awareness and appreciation of how Ottawa Public Health is advancing prevention, equity and achieving results, to best position OPH to effect system-wide change that improves the population’s health while addressing inequities in the health of subpopulations in Ottawa. 

As Chief Nursing Officer, you act as the principal lead and resource for nursing practice and professional issues and represent public health nursing at the community, provincial and national levels.  

You are also accountable for applicable public health legislative requirements, and for managing the Service’s human and financial resources (including contracted services if applicable).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Completion of 4-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing  
Graduate degree with a focus on public health or nursing, or relevant academic equivalent, is desirable.  
Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible management experience in the public health field with emphasis on program planning, assessing, and managing community health problems, and providing clinical direction to public health professionals, including 5 years in a local public health organization; and experience in the management of human resources and external contract resources, and management of operating and capital budgets. 

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES

Registered Nurse (RN) current with College of Nurses of Ontario
