VCT Group requires a Master Electrician to lead the solar installation team. In this role you will oversee all electrical work of electricians, designers and apprentices. This position involves working out of our Kitchener location under the direction of the Operations Manager. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Review and sign off on electrical related work including single line diagrams, electrical layouts, site plans to ensure the highest quality is met in compliance with electrical code

• Assisting in site visits with business development team for feasibility of future projects, providing recommendations on materials, layouts,e tc.

• Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations.

• Inspection of electrical components including transformers, electronics, and other equipment

• Commissioning and configuration of electronics control and monitoring systems

• Troubleshoot and diagnose failed electronics components using a variety of testing devices

• Supervise, educate, and train apprentices

• Uphold VCT Group’s standards of quality and professionalism

 

• REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Licensed Master Electrician

• 2+ years licensed experience

• Demonstrated attention to detail, customer care, and quality of work

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Highly efficient use of computer applications including databases, Zoom, CRM platforms, project management software, and other MS Office applications

• Current G class driver’s license and clean drivers abstract

 

ADITIONAL SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND QUALIFICATIONS THAT WOULD BE AN ASSET:

• Experience with installing and servicing electric vehicle chargers, batteries, and energy storage systems

• Experience with electrical service upgrades and installations

• Experience working in residential and ICI sectors

• Experience with solar PV installations

• Experience with computer networking, IP, wifi, and cellular data communications

• Forklift, first aid/CPR, and working at heights certification

The Donor Centre team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services collecting donor blood in a safe manner to enable safe products which save lives every day.

 

In this role, you will assist in the collection of blood and blood products ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and all required documentation is carried out. You will play an integral part in building and promoting a positive donor experience and encouraging donations.

Formula for success

  • Leveraging your ability to communicate effectively with donors, you will conduct registration and confidential screening to determine eligibility and build and promote a positive donor experience.   
  • Utilizing your superb people skills, you will provide donors with information, instruction, and advice on blood donation. 
  • Drawing on your knowledge and experience you will provide coaching and consultation to donor centre staff, acting as team lead for collection events as needed.
  • With your excellent interpersonal skills, you will work in a diverse team environment assisting in the collection of whole blood and/or apheresis blood components which save lives daily.
  • At mobile events within our communities, you will assist in setting up booths, tables, and other equipment to ensure donor clinics are properly set up for use.  

Desired education and skills

  • Completion of accredited nursing program and current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the province is required.
  • Two years of experience working as a nurse is considered an asset as is a certification in First Aid and CPR.
  • Previous experience as a preceptor or with coaching others is an asset.
  • Technical skills including Microsoft Word and Outlook, and the ability to learn new systems and programs. 
  • A second language is considered an asset to support a positive donor experience.
