About the Opportunity

• Schedules maintenance of the building systems to maintain the integrity of the facility, not limited to boiler systems, pumps, ventilation systems, plumbing, water and sewage systems, the Energy Management System (EMS) and other building components
• Facilitates the use of appropriate service manuals, technical manuals and blueprints during preventive maintenance, repair or replacement of systems or components
• Manages and maintains Building Management Systems
• Adheres to acoustical engineering practices, building codes national, provincial, and local, and follow safety precautions
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines
• Performs preventative maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication
• Completes daily rounds
• Maintains daily logs of operation, maintenance, and safety activities
• Follows all company and safety and security policies and procedures
• Report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; and complete safety training and certifications
• Alleviates unnecessary and unscheduled breakdowns and maintain resident comfort

About You

• Licensed skilled trade (Plumbing / Electrical / Millwright).
• Building Environmental Systems I or II
• 3-5 years of Building Operator Experience
• Must have a solid understanding of the maintenance and operational routines of large mechanical equipment.
• Must have a thorough understanding of complex mechanical and electrical systems, including pumps, motors, boilers, chillers, fire systems, cooling towers and all air handling equipment.
• Building Automation Experience

About the Opportunity

Tasks

  • Load, unload and transport construction materials
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements
  • Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks shoring and barricades
  • Mix, pour and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt
  • Assist in demolishing buildings
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials
  • Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Tend or feed machines or equipment used in construction
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites

Job Details

The Package Delivery Driver position is a physical fast-paced outdoor position that involves continual lifting lowering and carrying packages that typically weigh 25 - 35 lbs. and may weigh up to 70 lbs. Package Delivery Drivers must have excellent customer contact and driving skills. Some UPS facilities may require the ability to drive a delivery vehicle with a standard (manual) transmission. Qualified applicants must have a valid driver’s G or higher license issued in the province of Ontario. Package Delivery Drivers are expected to comply with UPS appearance guidelines and wear the company-provided uniform.

Job Type: Part-Time - Permanent

Workdays: Monday - Friday Shift Start: Monday 12:30am for5 hours per day *(Flexibility is required with both the start and finish times) Tuesday - Friday Shift Start is 3:00 AM

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Deliver and pick-up packages in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Drive 5 Ton to Hamilton Airport each day.
  • Follow and execute company-established safe/defensive driving methods.
  • Assist with loading/unloading the trucks as required.
  • Record track and maintain information about delivered and pickup packages.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (35kg) without assistance and 150 lbs. (68kg) with assistance.
  • Ability to read and navigate with maps/map books.
  • 3 years of driving experience
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Valid Ontario G Driver’s License
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract showing:
    a) No violations for the current year (last 12 months) and no more than 2 violations for the previous 3-year period (last 36 months)
    b) No accidents and maximum 5 demerit points for the previous 3-year period (last 36 months)
  • Delivery experience will be considered an asset.
  • Must pass a pre-employment road test.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $17.30 and automatic wage progression as per the existing Union Collective Agreement
