In the role you will:

  • Ensure effective client administration by managing all administrative processes and escalations requiring investigation
  • Consistently demonstrate high levels of client service by:
    • supporting the advisor in regular reviews of portfolios including entering client trades as directed by the client or Advisor and identifying client needs
    • responding to client inquiries, resolving issues and effecting client transactions in a timely and responsive manner
  • Provide marketing assistance by coordinating materials, events, and seminars to increase/identify opportunities to grow assets and/or revenue
  • Support the growth of the business by managing tracking reports for Wealth Advisors to review targets, recommendations, and financial plans/concepts  
  • Build effective working relationships across various departmental and business line contacts by actively collaborating and sharing knowledge and experience

  • Help to build category strategies and work with their one-up to develop and bring multi-year plans to life to deliver category growth and successfully differentiate MLF from our competitors
  • Consistently leverage data and develop insights from Nielsen and internal data sources to provide category share and financial reporting and analysis for the category, including weekly, monthly, and annual rhythms as well as ad hoc analyses
  • Analyze brands, market, and competitive trends and recommend suitable actions
  • Be involved and lead their category in MLF’s budgeting process
  • Support the Retail Sales and Brand teams to grow MLF branded share in their category  
  • Lead the commercialization of new product innovations, acting as project manager and working with cross-functional stakeholders including product development, finance, revenue management, operations, packaging, graphics, & purchasing to ensure successful, on-time launches

What You’ll Bring:

  • Post-secondary degree in Business or Marketing
  • 1-3 years previous experience in marketing, sales, advertising, finance, category management or analytics roles within consumer packaged goods or grocery industry
  • Passion & drive to learn and contribute: must exemplify curiosity, and a keen desire to win
  • Agility: must be proactive, high energy, and be able to stay focused on key business priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment

Required Qualifications:

You are responsible for establishing and maintaining positive, meaningful client relationships with diverse internal and external management, partners and interest-holders; serving as a spokesperson and liaison to key community and provincial partners related to Ottawa Public Health programs and services, to interpret public health policies, objectives and roles to the public; and working to enhance community and funder awareness and appreciation of how Ottawa Public Health is advancing prevention, equity and achieving results, to best position OPH to effect system-wide change that improves the population’s health while addressing inequities in the health of subpopulations in Ottawa. 

As Chief Nursing Officer, you act as the principal lead and resource for nursing practice and professional issues and represent public health nursing at the community, provincial and national levels.  

You are also accountable for applicable public health legislative requirements, and for managing the Service’s human and financial resources (including contracted services if applicable).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Completion of 4-year Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing  
Graduate degree with a focus on public health or nursing, or relevant academic equivalent, is desirable.  
Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible management experience in the public health field with emphasis on program planning, assessing, and managing community health problems, and providing clinical direction to public health professionals, including 5 years in a local public health organization; and experience in the management of human resources and external contract resources, and management of operating and capital budgets. 

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES

Registered Nurse (RN) current with College of Nurses of Ontario

KNOWLEDGE

  • Principles, practices, procedures, techniques, laws and regulations pertaining to the Service’s functions, programs, services and operations
  • Ottawa Public Health and City of Ottawa operations and corporate governance structure
  • Relevant Ottawa Public Health and City codes, policies and procedures
  • Trends and developments in the public health environment
  • Policy and program analysis, development, implementation and evaluation techniques
  • Performance measurement and management practices 
  • Public private partnerships and other alternate service delivery models
