Key Qualifications
- Typically, the knowledge, skills and abilities required are obtained through completion of a university degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or other related discipline.
- Three (3) to five (5) years' experience in data & financial analysis interpreting & reporting will be a considerable asset, as well as experience in the development and implementation of new technologies.
- Experience in analytical and operational aspects of business systems and workflow processes, as they relate to municipal infrastructure operations would be an asset.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles, especially related to cost accounting.
- Knowledge of the principles of computers. Knowledge of SQL, Crystal Reports, or similar data query tools and programming languages.

Key Qualifications:
- Typically, the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position are obtained through a related undergraduate degree such as Computer Science, Business Administration or Commerce combined with at least five (5) years’ experience directly related to Human Resource Management Systems, including Learning Management Systems in a multi-union environment. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
- Experience using Oracle E-Business Suite, SAP Modules (such as Success Factors), with a focus on Learning Management Systems and implementation of system functionality.

The position also monitors internal and external media relations procedures and processes to ensure consistency, timely and accurate release of information to the media and public and supports issues and crisis communication
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develops, manages, implements, and evaluates long and short-term communication, marketing, and related media relations strategies for assigned civic departments and divisions.
- Acts as a consultant to departmental management and other representatives to identify and resolve public and internal communications and related media issues for assigned projects.
- Identifies emerging issues and develops and implements effective and timely communication strategies.Plans and directs special events, news conferences, and related programs for the public, employees, media, other orders of government, and other stakeholders.
- Creates media advisories and provides support to the department for the development news releases or public service announcements as needed.
- Manages day-to-day media inquiries for the City of Saskatoon including prioritizing and coordinating incoming media requests, directing to appropriate media spokesperson, and assisting with preparing responses. Troubleshoots and problem solves media and communication related issues and escalates as necessary.
- Tracks media inquiries and attendance, monitors media coverage and assists in the preparation of an annual report on media tracking and coverage.
- Manages and updates relevant resources for use in the development of news releases, public service announcements and advisories.
- Provides support to the Media Relations Manager for media relations on matters that are confidential and are of a sensitive nature.
- Participates in the coordination of crisis communications.
- Acts as the Media Relations Manager as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience Requirements
- Degree in marketing, public relations, communications, journalism or a related field, Or an equivalent related diploma combined with years of experience.
- Four to six years’ related experience in journalism or a public relations/communications role including progressive experience in strategic communications. A combination of work experience as a journalist within a corporate and/or government work environment would be considered an asset.
- Membership, or eligibility for membership, in the Canadian Public Relations Society or the International Association of Business Communicators, accreditation preferred.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
- Demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of confidentiality.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement and decision-making for media, issues or crisis communications under strict time constraints or while managing competing priorities.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships within the organization and media.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Skill in the use of a smart phone and computer using word-processing and social media programs and software.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Provides engineering support to the Senior Transportation Engineer and the Engineering Manager.
- Assists in developing and maintaining engineering design geometric standards, and developing and maintaining transportation planning and engineering policies, bylaws, and guidelines.
- Assists in completing transportation engineering reviews of development applications, subdivision design and other submittals to the Transportation Division as required.
- Assists in the planning, design, monitoring, operation and maintenance of active transportation facilities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Degree in civil engineering.
- Four to six years’ progressively responsible professional engineering experience in transportation.
- Registration or eligible for registration, as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan.
- Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
- Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
- Considerable knowledge of traffic engineering principles in an urban environment.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, budgeting and financial procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, including the ability to prepare and present complex technical reports.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with civic staff, civic officials, representatives of other agencies and the public.
- Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.
