The work of an Analyst - Technical Support I is integral to Canadian Blood Services’ role as Canada’s Biological Lifeline. In this role, you will provide experience and specialization in highly technical aspects of systems hardware/ software/connectivity in Canadian Blood Services. You will act as a technical resource to Information Technology and Canadian Blood Services, supporting and maintaining the day-to-day operations of Unix/AIX on Power and Window servers and enterprise class hardware.

Desired Education and Skills
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years proven experience in technical support and system administration, with a focus on Unix, Windows, and Database Administration.
  • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems is required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Windows Server, and other database technologies (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server) is desired.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Shell, PowerShell) for automation and task automation.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Linux+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) are a plus.
  • Solid interpersonal skills, establishing collaborative work relationships with clients and colleagues with strong communications skills, both written and oral and good organizational skills are required.
  • Experienced in working within a remotely managed Data Centre environment.
