Commonwealth Stadium is recognized as one of the premiere open air, live entertainment venues in the world. It is home to the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League as well as hosting sold out concerts and international sporting events in soccer, rugby and athletics. Our Security Guards are critical to the success of these events and the venues/facilities where they are posted. In this role, you will play an essential part in ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience at all events through general security enforcement. You will succeed if you can perform all your tasks in a respectful, inclusive and service-minded way.

- Greet patrons in a friendly and courteous manner as they enter the facility
- Review credentials at access control points
- Restrict admittance to ticket holders, direct media and VIPs
- Restrict entry and re-entry to Stadium events
- Direct patrons, visitors and staff to specific areas/gates
- Enforce stadium rules and regulations
- Conduct patrols and observe/report on incidents
- Watch the crowd for prohibited items and actions
- Escalate situations appropriately to Command Centre and Edmonton Police Services in emergency situations
- Conduct bag and personal searches
- Other related duties as required
Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent or higher
- Currently licenced under the Security Services and Investigators Act by Alberta Justice and Solicitor General, and be in good standing Please attach your security license to your application
- Some experience working as a security guard at a live entertainment venue or related experience is preferred
- ProServe Liquor Staff training and ProTect Security Staff Training are required and must be obtained prior to starting your role
- Additional security certifications are an asset

As a Truck Driver III in the Spring and Summer Night Sweeping program, you will be responsible for the operation of a truck and auxiliary equipment rated with an Alberta Government licensed gross weight in excess of 13,000 kg.
Tasks may include:
- Operate trucks above a GVWR or 13,000 kg with a trailer less than 4600 kg, such as tandem axle truck, or flusher, in a safe and efficient manner, following truck routes as required
- Primary task for this position will be hauling sweepings for the summer night sweepers
- Deliver people, materials, equipment and/or parts to field crews
- Haul, load and move equipment and materials, including sweeping, crash attenuator, etc, between sites
- Conduct daily maintenance on equipment, such as cleaning and/or greasing according to manufacturer or City maintenance schedules
- General labour duties, such as manual sidewalk cleaning, pothole and asphalt repairs, flagging and other duties as operationally required
- Complete paperwork and reports, such as defect slips, manifest logs, and safety and damage reports

Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 10
- Experience in the operation of equipment assigned to the position or an equivalent combination of training and experience

- Ability to work nights (this position is solely night work for the duration of the positions term)

Qualifications

As a Restoration Technician in Parks and Roads Services, this position will be the City’s subject matter expert on restoration and will provide support and direction on restoration projects, standards and best management practices. Working closely with the Natural Area Operations Ecologist and Coordinator, and in alignment with the City Plan, this position will be a key driver of restoring natural spaces ensuring restoration aligns with the Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience Strategy, as well as other City policies and guidelines.
Duties of the Restoration Technician will be to:
- Review restoration plans to ensure they align with best practices, City standards, and natural area management plans
- Act as a liaison between the Natural Areas, Naturalization, Urban Forestry, and the Open Space and Development Inspection teams, and provide restoration advice, guidance, or planting requirements
- Develop restoration plans for identified sites and help to coordinate restoration efforts
- Attend inspections for Construction Completion Certificates (CCC) and Final Acceptance Certificates (FAC) as needed, document inspection findings and complete inspection reports
- Participate in and provide advice on pre-disturbance assessments and audits of natural areas that are in the process of being accepted into the City’s inventory, and work with the appropriate teams to ensure the City’s inventory of natural areas is kept up to date and accurate
- Conduct ecological monitoring and assessments of the City’s natural areas and recommend locations for restoration and naturalization initiatives
- Create maps and surveys through ArcGIS online, ArcGIS Pro, Survey 123 Connect, and Field Maps to improve restoration monitoring
- Refine and monitor IPM practices in natural areas to ensure the City is in compliance with the Integrated Pest Management Policy C501A and coordinate restoration efforts where required
- Work with citizens and external stakeholders as required
- Work with the Ecologist and Natural Areas Coordinator to develop and review strategic documents that relate to the City’s restoration goals
- Research restoration best practices and work towards incorporating these into current restoration standards at the City
- Provide guidance on updates to landscape standards, operational work and stay up to date on best management practices
- Other duties will be performed as required
Qualifications
- Completion of a 2-year technology diploma in Ecology, Biological Science, Landscape Technician, or a related field from a recognized institute of technology is required
- Certificate in Ecological Restoration is an asset
- Professional Biologist or Agrologist designation is an asset
- Alberta Pesticide License is an asset
- A minimum of 5 years experience in restoration ecology, or urban ecology is required
- Completion of successful restoration projects in various habitat types, including but not limited to wetlands, grasslands, shrublands, and forests is required
- Knowledge of restoration best practices, standards, and guidelines that would apply to the Edmonton area
- Understanding of municipal, provincial, and federal legislation, as well as the City’s policies, strategies, and standards related to restoration
- Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
- Outstanding conflict-resolution and problem-solving skills
- Experience using ArcGIS, Survey 123, Field Maps, and Google Suite
- Ability to identify both native and non-native plant species and communities, including grasses, forbs, shrubs, trees, and weeds
- Ability to interpret landscape plans and specifications
- Ability to work outside for extended periods under unfavourable weather conditions
- Ability to work in cross-functional teams, across programs and work collaboratively to share resources and information
- Ability to implement and ensure compliance with the City’s policies and procedures
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as in a team environment
- Valid First Aid Certification is an asset
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license (or provincial equivalent). Candidates must arrange their own vehicle and business auto insurance to be reimbursed for mileage according to the City of Edmonton policy

- Responsible for the administrative functions supporting the collection of court-ordered DNA, including facilitating institutional attendances, database queries and audits, report writing, and communication with members of the public and EPS stakeholders.
- Managing the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) CAR Y transactions ready for registration in the RCMP National Fingerprint Repository.
- Modification of existing CAR Y transactions for data correction/modification, and/or addition/deletion of charges.
- Conducting subject searches on EPROS, EMUGS, CPIC, JOIN and other databases.
- Validation checks of entry data in EMUGS.
- Data entry and updates to various databases which include EPROS, EMUGS and AFIS.
- When required, provide assistance by responding to telephone and counter queries from the general public, police members and other agencies relating to EPS identification processing and DNA collection services.
- When required, querying EPROS, EMUGS, CPIC, JOIN, ORCA, iNetviewer computer systems/databases to retrieve subject data and verify correctness of information on release documents.
- Performing other related duties as required including cross training with other clerical positions within the unit for relief purposes.
Qualifications
- Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to word and information processing or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college, supplemented by training in basic microcomputer applications or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of two (2) years diversified word and information processing experience.
- The ability to process a large volume of work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Working knowledge of EPROS, EMUGS, CPIC, JOIN, ORCA and iNetviewer would be considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of the Criminal Code and the Identification of Criminals Act would be considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of Morpho AFIS systems would be considered an asset.
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Effective time management and communications skills.
