POSITION SUMMARY:

The Package Handler’s position is a physical fast-paced and labor-intensive role within a warehouse environment that involves sorting/stocking packages as well as loading and unloading them into and out of UPS package delivery vehicles and trailers.

Job Type: Part-Time - Permanent

Work Location: 12424 Dixie Road Caledon ON

Workdays: Monday to Friday

Shift Start: 5:00 PM Shift averages 3-5 hours a day. Start times/finish times may vary with operational need.  Flexibility required.

Pay rate: $17.80/hr. (base rate of $17.30/hr. + an hourly bonus of $.50).

** APPLICANTS MUST BE ABLE TO WORK UP TO 25 HOURS PER WEEK**

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Load and unload packages into package delivery vehicles and trailers
  • Learn and properly execute company-established package handling methods
  • Sort and stock packages based on postal codes

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. (32kg) without assistance
  • Full availability to work Monday through Friday (all five days of the week)
  • Must be able to work 25 hours per week legally
  • Ability to read and memorize postal codes
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
  • Comfortable working inside truck trailers and package delivery vehicles
  • No prior experience required

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • Pay rate of $17.80/hr.(base rate of $17.30/hr. + an hourly bonus of $0.50)
  • Automatic pay rate progression as per the existing Union Collective Agreement (top rate: $27.01/hr. after 48 months)

This position inputs and processes shipments, domestic and international, in accordance with UPS and local government policies.

Approximate hours will be 7am - 10am.

Responsibilities:
Screens incoming calls.
Keys data accurately within time specific deadlines into UPS systems.
Checks and forwards legal documentation.
Provides administrative support to Management team

Job Details

The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for the management of the Maintenance department to ensure the efficiency of the highest quality product at the lowest cost while meeting customer demands. We are looking for a strong leader that is going to lead a team of 10-15 Millwrights and Electricians within the given shift.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all facility equipment is maintained up to company standards 
  • Ensure plant is in compliance with all federal and provincial regulations along with company policy/procedure 
  • Monitor QI daily and provide recommendations to solve quality issues 
  • Develop and continuously analyze budget versus planned forecast and report monthly or as needed 
  • Conduct scheduled meetings (department, safety) 
  • Develop workforce through supervision, coaching, and training 
  • Ensure all plans and strategies are effectively communicated throughout the department 
  • Review, alter, and approve all departmental scheduling issues 
  • Review and approve contractors’ form

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree completed, and/or equivalent work experience required;
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a Maintenance/manufacturing unionized environment while managing a team;
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement/High Volume Manufacturing;
  • Working knowledge of GMP’s, Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and WHMIS;
  • Millwright or Electrical certification preferred;
  • Intermediate computer and database application skills such as SAP;
  • Familiarity with manufacturing systems
  • Experience working in the Beverage and Food Manufacturing (asset).
