What you’ll do

The Fire Safety Consultant is responsible for ensuring CTC's fire prevention, preparedness, contingency planning, training, emergency management and investigations meet or exceed industry standards. The Fire Safety Consultant will take a key role coaching, counseling, and directing efforts to preserve life safety with a focus on legislative compliance.

This position will work closely with the operations teams to keep evacuation plans up to date, continuously evaluating and improving preparedness. The successful candidate will also act as a subject matter expert for all projects being implemented that have an impact on life safety, emergency management, fire prevention, detection, response, and investigation.  The successful candidate will work directly with internal and external technical disciplines to ensure all systems and processes are maintained according to industry standards. The consultant will work in a team environment, alongside the safety, security, operations, and maintenance teams.

What you bring

• 2+ years of related work experience

• University/College degree or diploma related to Fire Protection and Fire Prevention

• Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) or similar designation is an asset

As the Operations Supervisor, you are responsible for supervising the operation of delivery of dedicated freight to meet contractual requirements in a 24-hour, Monday through Saturday service including daily dock operations, reverse dock operations, and on-site customer dock operations, drivers, fleet & fleet maintenance, and dispatch. 

How You’ll Help: 

• Provide daily guidance and motivation to Dock Workers (employees and agency workers) and Drivers (company and broker drivers) to ensure achievement of operational objectives for the terminal.  
• Escalates issues of individual poor performance, inappropriate behaviour, absenteeism, etc. to the Terminal Manager.  
• Communicate monthly performance stats to the team to help measure, develop and improve operational performance. 
• Maintain policies and procedures and ensure compliance with federal and provincial transportation, safety, and employment legislation.

As a Trailer Technician at Day & Ross, you will be responsible for repairing and inspecting trailers, and be a key member of our maintenance team. You are responsible for preventative maintenance, pre-inspection maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on the company’s fleet of trailers in accordance with the applicable level of training and apprenticeship.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Core Infrastructure, this role is responsible for development, management, and execution of a comprehensive I.T. security program, and leading the team of information security professionals to protect the integrity and security of the Corporation’s computing and network infrastructure and environment.  This subject matter expert collaborates with senior business and technology staff and external agencies to create and implement an IT governance and risk management policies and standards; audit and monitor IT enterprise risks and practices for compliance and manage discovery and recovery situations. This resource is expected to operate on a senior level and may be required to perform high profile and highly confidential investigations and report findings to senior management, Council, Legal division, Courts or other regulatory bodies. This resource is also responsible for performing annual PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliance reviews and internal audits and advise senior management on matters of cyber security in terms of business continuity and reputational risk. The resource will be participating in multiple governance forums on behalf of IT management as well as external industry regulatory and peer forums.

1. Manage corporate information security program. Research, develop and lead the implementation of the Corporation’s I.T. security program. Recommend a suitable set of controls, including policies, processes, procedures, organizational structures as well as software and hardware functions. In conjunction with other business management processes, establish and maintain regular monitoring, review and improvement processes to ensure that specific security and business objectives of the Corporation are met. 1. IT Governance. Collaborate and work with IT and business Management to develop IT policies and standards to comply with regulatory requirements, City’s by-laws, Risk management and best practices to safe guard the City from liabilities and keep policy current with the proliferation and changes in technology.
