Key Accountabilities:

• Provide BLS/ALS medical response
• Ensure effective emergency response by providing professional application of skills and techniques at the emergency scene
• Assist in maintaining and inspecting fire apparatus and equipment
• Perform fire code inspections of site facility infrastructure and site pre-fire planning
• Demonstrate leadership and training attributes to emergency response team members
• Provide input into the effectiveness of the emergency response team

What You Bring to the Role:

• Must have previous experience as a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) or Advanced Care Paramedic (ACP) and be registered with the Alberta College of Paramedics
• Must have NFPA 1001 Level II Firefighter Certification. Preference will be given to candidates with firefighter experience
• Valid Class 2/3 and 4 with Q endorsement driver’s license
• Minimum standard of physical fitness is required for this role

As this role supports safety sensitive 24 hour Operations, the HR Business Advisor will be required to have flexible working hours while on site to support business needs. This includes acting as the emergency on-call HR contact on a rotational basis.

What you will do:

Working Condition:

Administrative Support III casual opportunities exists within Alberta Health Services, Fort McMurray area with the Addiction and Mental Health Services. Reporting to the AMH Manager, the incumbent performs a variety of duties: administrative and receptionist responsibilities for the various programs. It is important that the person be multi-task oriented. This position also provides program information to clients, families and other community agencies. This position is also responsible for maintaining accurate electronic client records relating to the service, time keeping etc. The incumbent must also have a good working knowledge in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel and be able to work under pressure. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Fort McMurray Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $12,480. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024.
