Assembler

The Assembler position, under direct supervision, is responsible for performing routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes. Additional responsibilities include activities such as checking, sorting, packaging, labeling, trimming and tying using simple hand tools.

Performance Expectations

· Assemble, fit and install prefabricated parts to form subassemblies or finish products using hand and power tools.

· Position, align and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly and connect cables, tubes and wires.

· Fasten parts together using bolting and riveting equipment or other fastening and joining techniques.

· Operate or tend automated assembling equipment, such as robotics and fixed automation equipment.

· Operate small cranes to transport or position larger parts as needed.

· Make sub-assemblies to drawings and specifications.

· Perform quality checks as needed..

· Complete SPC charts and flow sheets.

· Pack in approved containers.

· Access technical information and enter production data.

· Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in the facility’s geographic location and:

· ISO 14001: Environmental Management system standard.

· ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety.

 

Credentials

· High School Diploma or equivalent general education.

· Minimum one year of training and/or experience.

· Ability to read and understand work orders to obtain information about the customers set up preferences.

· Interpret assembly and schematic drawings to troubleshoot technical problems with subassemblies and finished products.

· Ability to take measurements to perform such tasks as cutting wire to specific lengths or drilling holes in the correct location.

· Ability to use computer applications and prepare memos as needed.

Credentials

·       A bachelor’s degree in engineering or related engineering discipline is required.

Desired Characteristics

·       Five to seven years of related experience.

·       Experience with risk analysis and problem failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) for automotive products.

·       Experience in writing and executing engineering test protocols.  Write quality assurance reports that describe manufacturing problems, corrective actions taken, and preventative measures needed.  Proposals are usually written for non-technical audiences such as clients and management.

·       Ability to make presentations to senior management during annual meetings to provide an overview of areas such as product costing, maintenance and equipment failures which need to be considered when planning for the coming year.

·       Read operating and quality assurance reports to understand technical and operational information about facilities, processes, and equipment.

·       Experience in drawing interpretations and geometric dimensional tolerancing.  Knowledge and experience in gauging methods, calibration, and gauge R&R’s.  Ability to take precise measurements using specialized equipment and techniques.

·       Lead and co-ordinate project teams which include other engineers, technologists, clients, and contractors when designing, developing, and building products or facilities.

·       Proficient with MS Office and CAD applications. Familiar with material processes and IATF/TS16949 standards.  Experience with the use of statistical analysis software and computer-assisted design, manufacturing, and machining.

·       Attend formal professional development seminars and conferences as needed.  Conduct self-directed studies by reading journals and trade publications.  Must be aware of new technologies and advances in the engineering field.

The Bilingual Customer Service Representative provides customer service and front line support to clients with respect to the maintenance and operations of their buildings. The Operations Centre is a critical environment within BGIS Canada, responsible for receiving and dispatching facilities service requests for its clients – 7/24/365. The work environment is fast-paced and client-service focused.  In order to ensure ongoing performance success, Operations Centre team members are measured against service delivery metrics.


The Customer Service Representative is required to provide service in English and French. 

 KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Learns client account details, the service request/work order management systems, the telephony system and Operations Centre policies, processes and operating procedures
  • Fills basic client requests including creating and dispatching work orders to appropriate internal and external service providers and relaying appropriate information to front line facilities managers
  • Assesses and accurately assigns level of priority to facilitate timely fulfillment of service requests
  • Learns techniques for troubleshooting service issues, communicating with internal technicians and Facility Managers, external service providers, landlords and other relevant parties.
  • Receives guidance and support in completing service requests including activities such as proper work order processing, dispatching and communication of information.
  • Provides customer service support in either English and French
  • Participates in program initiatives undertaken by the Operations Centre
  • Maintains confidentiality of client account information and other confidential information. Conducts work in a professional manner.
  • May be required to demonstrate Operations Centre capabilities to potential and existing clients and to prospective hires by having such people Y-cord into live calls.
  • May be required to provide training to new Team Members.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Hour Availability Requirements

  • 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year environment requiring open availability
  • Rotating shifts between 6:00am and 11:00pm
  • Weekends and holiday work availability on a rotational basis
  • May be required to work overtime

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • High school completion plus a specialized technical or business course.
  • Job Related Experience:  One year or less

Performance Expectations

Plan and direct highway and/or local drivers on daily freight pick-up and deliveries

Pre-plan driver’s trip itineraries and communicate those with all drivers

Track equipment, freight, and drivers through use of satellite and/or two-way radio

Communicate and direct customer service on issues and information that need to be communicated to customers, such as freight delivery delays and billing issues

Collect, sort, and distribute all driver trip envelopes

Ensure that all driver trip envelops are complete and accurate

Ensure that all customer needs and freight requirements are met through instructions and trip planning of the drivers

Prioritize loads and customers to accommodate changes and problems as they arise

 

Credentials

Completion of Secondary school diploma

Ability to interpret and give both verbal and written instructions

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Prioritization skills and be multi-task oriented

Ability to develop and maintain co-operative working relationships with co-workers and customer

Ability to accomplish task in a controlled, effective manner while working under stress

Keen attention to detail

Leads and directs the work of others
