Dome Productions operates a fleet of 18 multi-format production mobiles, 7 support units, 1 production/uplink mobile and 3 uplink tractors, helping the engineering department to support our fleet is your main duty. This position requires a critical technical mindset for troubleshooting problems, constantly willingness to learn and being passionate for working in a Broadcast maintenance environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain performance and full service functionality for our fleet of mobile units.
  • Assess faults, prioritize, and report remedies or recommendations.
  • Serves as the technical support role and acts as a point of contact for Engineering Maintenance Leads in the warehouse.
  • Complete daily performance monitoring, review and directly manages service requests of all aspects of the mobile units and engineering operation.
  • Support all required preventative and technical maintenance of onboard broadcast equipment while executing changes and engineering updates in the trucks.
  • Work directly with the Engineering Maintenance Leads and Manager to identify any critical and ongoing technical issues and develop an action plan outlining solutions.
  • Liaise with manufacturer support, suppliers, engineers and operators to resolve identified issues that are impacting complete operational status of Dome’s mobile units in a timely fashion.

Critical Qualifications

  • BS or Certified Diploma in Engineering or other Advanced Technical Related Field Degree.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a Television broadcast related field.
  • Thorough knowledge of broadcast technical equipment and component parts.
  • Thorough knowledge for all types of media equipment and expected performance.
  • Thorough knowledge of Evertz EQX Systems, Multiviewers and related infrastructure is an asset.
  • Thorough knowledge of Computer systems, Networking fundamentals and deployment is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Cisco Meraki, WiFi Network and CISCO Ethernet networks is an asset.
  • Ability to effectively utilize support tools and test gear to perform accurate evaluation of equipment and integrated facilities.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Provide leadership and direction to Operators on the line with particular focus on blending, formulation, CCPs, and documentation.
  • Provide guidance on product SOPs and steps in formulating product blends while maintaining traceability and proper documentation of lot codes and batches in SAP.
  • Conduct CCP and/or Prerequisite Program training including verification of training effectiveness. This includes training related to implementation of new programs and corrective actions related to deviations.
  • Immediately address deviations to FSQA procedures by coaching and re-training.
  • Support the investigation of customer and consumer complaints including documentation of findings and drafting responses as appropriate.
  • Write and revise FSQA SOPs including maintenance of the product SOPs, FSQA SOPs and electronic directories.
  • Maintain and deliver GMP Training and CCP presentations as a member of the plant new hire orientation program.
  • Conduct HACCP reassessment, monitoring, and verification to meet regulatory requirements including updates to forms, documents, and programs as required.
  • As a member of the cross-functional team, investigate, document (In SAP Non-conformance system) and establish/implement appropriate corrective action to address deviations related to all programs with specific focus on foreign material and quality critical non-conformances.
  • Maintain hold and release databases - internal and SAP. 
  • In-depth analysis of CTQ (Critical to Quality) data as collected in SAP including tracking and trending for interpretation and development of actions to address deviations.
  • Support all aspects of audit preparation and execution including documentation, preparation, program review, on-site inspection, training and other duties as required.
  • Collect samples and conduct raw material sensory assessment and communicate results to Operations.
  • Perform other SAP functions as required such as hold/release program, inspection lot oversight, usage decisions, etc.
  • Provide support to hourly Production Operators in delivery of FSQA procedures.
  • Participate in Period review, Town Hall meetings, other communication sessions.
  • Assist CFIA inspectors with CVS tasks or other support as requested.
  • Participate in Six Sigma projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Details

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 3 to less than 5 years
Area of specialization: Oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), Flux core arc welding (FCAW), Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), Gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)
Equipment and machinery experience: Power tools, Welding equipment, and Forklift
Computer and technology knowledge: MS Office
Own tools/equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, and Safety glasses/goggles
Credentials: Construction Millwright Trade Certification, Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Red Seal Endorsement, Welder Trade Certification, Hoisting and Rigging Training, Forklift Operator Certification, Canadian Welding Bureau Certification, and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Security and safety: Driving record check (abstract)

Work setting: Machinery installation, Various locations, Maintenance, Service, Repair, and New construction

Transportation information: Willing to travel and Valid driver’s licence

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
  • The candidates should be able to work in noisy environments and tolerate odors
  • The candidates should be physically fit for demanding tasks, capable of handling heavy loads, and able to handle weights up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
  • The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, be able to stand for extended periods, and work under pressure

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be team players

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to coach and instruct apprentices, supervise other workers, and operate hoisting and lifting equipment
  • The candidates should be able to detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions, perform routine maintenance work on machinery, and read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
  • The candidates should be able to repair or replace defective machinery parts, fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up, estimate costs and materials, assemble machinery and equipment (prior to installation), and install machinery and equipment.
