About the job

 

  • You will work with a team of developers (3-5 people) on the current project developing new features.
  • Usually, our projects last for about 1-2 years (but it could be more/less). Our developers don't work on more than 1 project at a time.
  • For development, we usually use Kanban or similar processes, communicate in Slack channels and via video calls, and store documentation in Notion.

The DevOps Center or Excellence Team is undertaking multiple complex enterprise-wide initiatives as part of RBC’s ongoing plan to improve technology management and be a world leader. As a Lead DevOps Engineer/Technical Lead with expertise in CI/CD and Service Management, you will play a pivotal role in building software to solve complex project needs, enhance our software delivery pipelines, ensure system reliability, monitoring and improving overall service quality to ensure operational excellence. What will you do?

 

• Work on internal facing applications targeted towards developers across the organization.

• Build and configure pipelines that would help app teams build and deploy cloud native apps.

• Help design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve app services.

• Integrate with third party APIs and create scalable apps.

• Partner with other teams to understand user needs and contribute to delivering solutions to solve complex business problems.

• Create and maintain technical systems documentation and write concise, well-organized code and sensible tests.

• Implement end to end monitoring.

 

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

• 3+ years experience working with DevOps principals, CI/CD tools i.e. Github actions, Jenkins, Circle CI and building custom pipelines etc.

• Experience working with docker and Kubernetes (Azure, OpenShift/AWS).

• 3+ years of development experience with object-oriented programming(java/groovy/python), micro services architecture, Spring Framework, Maven, etc.

• Hands on experience designing, developing, testing and troubleshooting REST APIs

• Experience with multi-threading, scaling, concurrency, caching, queuing, and distributed data storage

• Experience with message brokers (Rabbitmq, Kafka etc.), SQL(Postgres) and NoSQL databases (Mongodb, Elastic etc.) Nice to have:

• Experience with a public cloud platform i.e. Azure, AWS

• Experience working with Github actions and workflow development.

• Experience with AI to implement self healing pipelines & leveraging AI tools/LLM’s to create AI Testing as part of the pipeline.

Candidates Will Be Assessed Against The Following:

Minimum Requirements:

  • University degree in economics, agricultural economics, agricultural sciences, environmental sciences, agribusiness management, natural resource management, irrigation and drainage engineering, rural infrastructure engineering, communication, social sciences, international relations or a related field as appropriate for the specific profile.
