As a Payroll Analyst with Canadian Natural, you will make a significant contribution by bringing your experience and enthusiasm to administering payroll for all employees. Key Accountabilities:

  • Administer payroll on a bi-weekly basis for salaried and hourly employees with varying degrees of complexity
  • Calculate and verify salaries, hourly wages, overtime, and all other compensation related elements (including deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings)
  • Provide year end support including balancing and auditing to drive accuracy and timely target completion
  • Stay up to date with federal and provincial payroll regulations and ensure compliance with tax laws 
  • Respond to inquiries from government agencies regarding payroll related matters as well as participate and support annual external audits and other government audits related to applicable government agencies throughout the year
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation of payroll functions and processes for audit purposes for compliance with internal controls and audit 
  • Investigate, review and recommend enhancements for process changes
  • Contribute to the accuracy and integrity of the payroll function within the company, and address employee inquiries and resolve payroll related issues in a timely and professional manner

What you Bring to the Role:

  • 3+ years of related experience with High School Diploma or GED
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) Designation required 
  • Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) Designation will be considered an asset (completed or in progress)
  • Expertise in current legislation related to payroll and employment standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Proven ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve payroll issues and prioritize work to meet tight deadlines
  • Experience in Oracle HCM Cloud and UKG (Kronos) and the impact of stock-based compensation on payroll considered an asset

As a Certified Occupational Health Nurse, you will provide comprehensive nursing care including health promotion, illness prevention, supportive, curative, and rehabilitative care. What You’ll Do

 

  • Promote health and wellness in patient encounters
  • Flexible to travel to employer office and/or mobile trailer to perform clinical  assessments in mobile clinics, Flu clinic, health surveillance assessments etc
  • Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans for occupational and non-occupational health concerns
  • Consult with collaborating physicians and update the Medical Director as required
  • Conduct diagnostic testing such as electrocardiography, spirometry, audiometric testing, quantitative/qualitative mask fit testing, vision screening, immunizations, and obtaining blood samples
  • Perform physical assessments and determine fitness to work
  • Oversee the work of occupational health technicians
  • Work independently when required
  • Respond to emergency situations in clinical settings
  • Prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Conduct drug & alcohol testing, physical demands testing, ear plug fit testing, and interpret results
  • Understand and apply the Occupational Health Act and applicable legislation
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers to offer comprehensive patient care
  • Document all completed interventions
  • Maintain knowledge of testing required for TELUS Health Edmonton contracts
  • Ensure a professional and clean work environment
  • Lift and carry equipment safely (up to 50 lbs)
  • Apply infection control principles
  • Navigate medical equipment set-up, software, and administration independently in remote areas
  • Proficient in IT and using the Cority system

 

 

What You Bring

 

  • Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
  • Current registration (or eligibility to register) with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of Occupational Health Nursing (OHN) experience
  • Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (required)
  • Certification in Drug and Alcohol Testing (an asset)
  • Valid driver’s license with access to a vehicle
  • Current certification in BLS CPR/AED
  • Experience with After Hours Drug and Alcohol testing (an asset)
  • Sound professional judgment and initiative in nursing practice
  • Discreet and confidential handling of patient matters
  • Adherence to all safety and health policies, regulations, and safe work practices
  • Ability to work flexible hours and remotely throughout Alberta, delivering occupational health services via our mobile trailer

The Logistics team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by utilizingbest practices to ensure the safe transportation of personnel, donors, equipment, blood products and supplies. Our Drivers do more than drive.In this role, you will assist in setting up booths, tables, and other equipment to ensure mobile donor events are ready for use in addition to transporting people and products integral to Canada’s Lifeline.

Formula for success

  • Utilizing your experience with driving and transportation you will ensure that blood and blood products are transported in accordance with safety measures and procedures and are kept at an appropriate temperature. You will also ensure the safety of employees, donors and/or volunteers travelling with you. 
  • Drawing on your knowledge of safe transportation procedures and your attention to detail, you will conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure equipment is in proper working order, and accurately complete all required documentation. 
  • Leveraging your customer service skills, you will assist the collections team by greeting and helping donors book or rebook appointments as required. 
  • You will assist with setting up systems and Wi-Fi connections for mobile events by utilizing your familiarity with technology and aptitude for learning new programs.  
  • Utilizing your superior interpersonal and communication skills you will work with staff to carry and set up/dismantle equipment and supplies. You will also load and unload equipment and supplies at donor centre sites and upon return to centre.

Desired education and skills

  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent. 
  • Must possess a valid Class 4 Unrestricted BC drivers license and a clean commercial drivers abstract from within the last 30 days. 
  • Minimum 24 months verifiable professional driving experience as a commercial vehicle driver, within the last 3 years. 
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and programs. 
  • A willingness to learn procedures in a regulatory environment. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English. A second language is considered an asset.

Must achieve minimum threshold on mandatory pre-placement driver assessment training

Ability to successfully complete all basic and re-currency training

Ability to lift 70 lbs

Some knowledge of Federal Express Canada operations an asset.
