As a participant in the Manufacturing Rotational Program working in Fraser Valley, Canada you will be part of the Integrated Supply Chain Team.  This role is a 12-month rotational program through the 5 departments within the brewery you are located in. You will spend two months in each department learning at a high level the different areas of how they operate while working on project-based items that help in that learning process. You will end the rotation with a cap stone project designed to apply the learnings gained during the program and drive measurable change against a real-world problem statement. Throughout the year, you will have a learning plan that will include leadership development to prepare you for a Process Lead role at the conclusion of the program.

This position reports to The Brewery World Class Supply Chain (WCSC) Lead and works closely with department leaders in brewing, packaging, tech services, production services and shipping. This role will start in June 2025.

The Responsibilities: 

• Gain a broad understanding of the 5 departments, key responsibilities, connections between the other areas within the brewery and different lines within the facility
• Lead a departmental project designed to dig deeper into the area and provide valuable business results
• Demonstrate a capacity for future growth and leadership

The Other Qualifications: 

• You are graduating between December 2024 and May 2025 with a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, food science, brewing sciences, related engineering disciplines OR equivalent experience

This entry level Finance position is centered around preparing JE’s, GL account analysis and reporting but also requires significant amounts of time spent supporting staff with finance processes and providing vacation relief for yield reporting, livestock settlement and inventory accounting.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

Reporting: (25%)

• Compose and upload Journal entries
• Prepare Balance sheet account reconciliations monthly
• Track and ensure outstanding items in reconciliations are cleared within 2 months
• Prepare weekly and monthly vitals reports
• Track government assistance payments and submit to corporate, if applicable
• Other reporting as required

Accounting & Controls (35% - 40%)

• Provide accounting support to other Office Staff
• Review Overhead expenses for materials usage and comparison to plan
• Review Overhead expenses accuracy and completeness (expense account analysis)
• Assist in cost forecasts and Budget preparation
• Regulate packaging and maintenance cycle counts
• Process direct post invoices
• Supplier Invoice processing follow up when needed
• Coordinate activities with Maintenance
• Perform quarterly C3 inventory control audits to ensure compliance to MLF standards
  • Create remediation measures to ensure compliance
  • Monitor remediation measures if items are non-compliant

Administrative (15%)

Vacation relief (20-25%)

• About 20 days per year of vacation relief for Cost Analyst.
• Cost Analyst/Live procurement position coverage
  • Create purchase orders and invoices for hog producers
  • Manually enter production transactions in SAP daily
  • Provide yield information to management & supervisors
  • Analyze inventory and make inventory adjustments as needed

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Temporary Full-Time Shipper/Receiver to join our dynamic Supply Chain Operations West team. 

The Supply Chain Operations West team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by providing technical assistance and maintaining the laboratory, all laboratory equipment and test instruments.  

Formula for success 

• Drawing on your knowledge and training of working with blood and blood related products, you will receive, store, organize, retrieve and assemble Consumables Inventory items.  

• Leveraging your excellent customer service skills, you will collaborate with the Logistics Department as well as internal and external customers to receive supplies and blood specimens and distribute Consumables Inventory orders and Finished Product orders. 

• Following safe warehouse and Standard Operating Procedures, you will load and unload vehicles, operate equipment such as pallet jacks and maintain storage facility within Materials Management (e.g., perform quality inspection, assessment and documentation on incoming products and return of inventory items, monitor temperature controls and product expiry dates, and prepare and distribute bio-waste containers along with required documentation).  

Desired education and skills  

• Minimum two years' experience as a shipper/receiver or related experience in purchasing, inventory and/or warehouse experience within a logistics environment.  

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push carts weighing up to 300 lbs.

• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook with the ability to learn new systems and programs.Typing speed of 45 wpm. Experience with SAP and inventory control programs is an asset.   

• Attention to detail is essential along with the ability to keep accurate records. 

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills being able to exercise tact, sound judgement and discretion when dealing with others. 

• Strong organizational and time management skills, as well as being able to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities within short timelines. 

• Experience with Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS), Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) are an asset.
