2. Carries out repairs to malfunctioning equipment as directed.
3. Checks regularly the operation of all mechanical equipment as directed.
4. Assists in the maintenance of adequate inventory of maintenance supplies, tools and spare parts.
5. Carries out necessary grounds work such as lawn mowing and watering, and snow removal as
scheduled, keeping exits and walkways clear at all times.
6. Performs janitorial responsibilities as scheduled or required including garbage removal.
7. Makes general building repairs such as: touch up plastering, painting, and other similar work.
8. Assists other departments in moving furniture, equipment and supplies, as requested.
9. Performs all duties in accordance with the written policies and procedures of Extendicare, the facility,
trade/CSA legislation and the Maintenance Department
10. Participates in evaluating care and\or services provided by the Maintenance Department to residents
under the facility Quality Assurance/Improvement Program.
11. Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner and maintains work area in a clean, orderly, and
safe condition.
12. Follows manufacturer’s instructions in the operation and use of all equipment and chemicals.
13. Reports unsafe and hazardous working conditions and any equipment malfunctions to the
supervisor.
14. Knowledgeable of facility procedures for fire and environmental safety.
15. Performs duties in accordance with prescribed sanitation and infection control procedures.
16. Respects residents’ rights to dignity and privacy and performs duties in a courteous and respectful
manner.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
- Manage, motivate, develop and provide direct leadership to maintenance staff;

What You’ll Bring:
- At home in a manufacturing environment and have 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in a unionized environment;

- A College graduate from an electro-mechanical program or a licensed tradesperson with related experience;

Responsibilities
- Maintain and replenish products in store racks, shelves, displays, and coolers by transporting product between backroom/storage room to front-of-store with manual or powered equipment (pallet jack, hand-truck).
- Build, change or remove product displays while adhering to company standards; maintaining product signage; cleaning product space and securing damaged or defective product.
- Repetitively lift, carry and position product (weight up to 50lbs or 22kgs) above shoulder height without assistance
- Consistent kneeling, squatting and reaching above the head
- Manage backroom by organizing stock (product); identifying, monitoring, and reporting inventory levels; evaluating and processing damaged product; re-packing product; organizing backroom materials (i.e., pallets, product shells etc.); completing any required paperwork
- Follow all Coke Canada Bottling and Store policies regarding backroom, display floor, replenishment, equipment, and safety
- Maintain an orderly and clean work area in compliance with Company safety and sanitation requirements.
- Maintain professional relationships with co-workers and customers.
- Ability to push and pull manual and powered equipment (i.e. pallet jack, hand-truck etc.) containing product loads for a minimum of 100 yards without assistance
- Ability to repetitively grasp and manipulate objects of varying size and weight requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
Qualifications
- Must have access to a personal vehicle for use during working hours
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record with no major violations over the last three (3) years
- One (1) year experience working in grocery, retail, warehousing or related field preferred
- Experience working with manual or powered pallet jacks preferred
