About This Opportunity
Coke Canada Bottling Bulk Drivers are responsible for the delivery of pre-ordered products to assigned accounts. This is a short-haul role, and the majority of the driving is locally based. On occasion, this role may also require some 2-3 day overnight runs.
Responsibilities

Position Summary

Work is performed independently with latitude for determining specific job methods; however, work priorities are established in consultation with the Foreman-Painters. Assignments are generally in the form of work orders and/or oral instructions but may be accompanied by detailed written instructions, sketches, drawings, specifications, maintenance schedules, etcetera. Work is subject to inspection in progress and upon completion. A Journeyperson Painter and Decorator may be required to supervise other tradespeople.
NOTE: May be required to work shift work and is subject to call-out when a problem arises in his/her field of expertise. The employee will be expected to provide a standardized set of tools for the trade.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepares surfaces, applies paint and other protective coatings and applies wallpaper and other decorative finishes to buildings and objects.
- Typical duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Prepares and washes surfaces with soap and water, T. S. P. , steam or solvents to remove grease, rust, scale or dirt.
- Removes old finish by using paint remover, blowtorch, sandblaster, wire brush or scraper and smoothes surfaces with sandpaper, sanding machine or steel wool.
- Applies putties, fillers or spackle with spatula or knife to fill nicks, depressions, holes or cracks. Tapes and repairs gyproc.
- Applies paint, epoxies, rubber paints, varnish, stain enamel or lacquer to decorate and protect interior and exterior surfaces of buildings.
- Positions and erects ladders, scaffolding units, suspended platforms and seats to reach places inaccessible from ground levels. Covers surfaces to be protected from paint with drop sheets/cloth; and applies masking tape and shields.
- Selects premixed paints or stains. Prepares paints or stains to match specified colors by mixing required portions of pigment, oil or thinning and drying additives.
- Applies fillers, sealers, stain and protective coatings to millwork, etc. Sets nail holes and matches putty to finished coating to fill cracks and holes.
- Applies paint or stain to furniture, fixtures, equipment, machinery and the interior and exterior of buildings (walls, ceilings, doors, window frames and trim) using hand, mechanical applicators or spray equipment.
- Covers walls and ceilings of buildings with decorative wallpaper or natural and synthetic fabrics.
- Lays out and paints letters, figures and designs on sign boards or glass; may apply gold or silver leaf to glass for special signs; may draw and cut out silk screen stencils and print signs.
- Cleans brushes, rollers, spray equipment in Varsol, soap and water or other solvents.
- Reads drawings and specifications to determine material and installation requirements.
- Estimates quantity and quality of material required for the work and requisitions material in accordance with policy and signing authority and maintains a stock of equipment and parts.
- Arranges for sub-contract work as required and inspects the work of sub-contractors to ensure conformance with specifications and quality standards.
- Prepares or participates in the preparation of project cost estimates.
- Follows all rules and regulations as set out in the Provincial Occupational Health & Safety Act and the City of Regina Occupational Health and Safety Manual.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of standard methods, materials and equipment used in relation to the painting and decorating trade.
- Knowledge of the properties of paint, lacquer and other protective and decorative finishes.
- Knowledge of the correct proportions and proper techniques for mixing, blending and applying paints or finishes to wood, metal or other materials.
- Knowledge of the occupational hazards, safety precautions and regulations of the trade.
- Knowledge and skill in the preparation of the surface and application of coatings (epoxies, rubber paints, etc. ) to swimming pools.
- Knowledge of the work of related trades.

4. Operates, schedules and conducts minor repairs on semi and manual irrigation systems.
5. Assists with the review and revision of operational documentation; i.e. job numbers, maintenance routes, inventories, etc.

Qualifications
• Grade 12 education.
• Successful completion of a diploma in horticulture.
• Three years’ progressively responsible experience in grounds maintenance or related field, including one year supervising staff.
