What you will do:
- Fully qualified trades-person capable of performing major maintenance and repair functions within the mechanical trade.
- Capable of performing the installation and repair of complex equipment.
- Must demonstrate a detailed understanding of Enbridge Safety Policies and Procedures and act in accordance with them at all times.
- Possesses thorough understanding of both the theoretical and practical aspects of the work, providing recommendations for performance improvements.
- Receives direction from Trades III/IV or Coordinator/Supervisor. The level of direction and supervision needed decreases as the incumbent takes on more complex tasks.
- This role is expected to work with significant independence on standard assignments. Also, the role may be required to assist with more complex tasks requiring guidance by Trades III/IV or Coordinator/Supervisor.
- Judgment required in assessing that a situation is safe to perform the work required and the most effective way of carrying out the work.
Who you are:
- Minimum Grade 12 diploma or GED equivalent and Journeyperson Mechanical or Millwright with interprovincial certification with minimum 3 years related industrial experience, class 5 drivers’ license in good standing.
- Possess good interpersonal, communications and interactive people skills.
- Understands technical drawings.
- Analytical skills for problem analysis.
- Undergo various background screening that includes but is not limited to 5-year driving record, criminal check and a company sponsored medical and drug testing.
Working Condition:
- Based out of Athabasca Cheecham Terminal in the Fort McMurray area.
- Shift work, on a 7 on/7 off shift (12-hour shifts) days. Night shifts on an on-call basis.
- Mix of field (~80%) and office (~20%) environments.
- Work in hazardous or restricted locations such as pump buildings, confined spaces, tank lots, and other classified areas within facilities and along the Right of Way.
- Working on and around high voltage equipment, transformers, disconnects, switchgear, motor control centres, electrical service buildings, etc.
- Frequent travel and on-call responsibilities for assigned areas and stations.
- Working on equipment situated at heights.
- This position requires climbing, bending, lifting, standing, and crouching on a repetitive basis.
