PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

As the Supervisor Rail Testing you will operate CPKC owned ultrasonic test equipment. Provide accurate information on the results of the days work that will trigger rail replacements.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Drive CPKC owned vehicle and rental cars to locations to perform daily testing
• Operate and maintain CPKC owned ultrasonic rail testing equipment on various segments on their assigned territory
• Calibrate and ensure equipment is up to standards to perform quality inspections
• Responsible for daily contact with the Roadmaster for collaborative ways to keep Rail Flaw Detection equipment on schedule and hit production targets
• Take track protection and abide by all safety rules to ensure everyone goes home safe
• Perform quality work ensure the safe passage of trains in compliance with the SPC and Red Book by issuing the appropriate protective slow orders
• Required to be on call on a regular basis outside of normal business hours and workdays
• Work 2 weeks ON and 1 week OFF schedule (travel required to get to work and back home)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Drivers License
• Previous Rail road experience is an asset
• Trained in Rail Flaw Ultrasonic testing is preferred but not required

The Passenger Movement Manager is an advocate for Air Canada’s customers in the decision-making process during day of Operations. They are responsible for a consistent Air Canada brand travel experience and brand consistency in the delivery of the Air Canada schedule. They are accountable for proactively identifying customer impacts in the Air Canada schedule and bringing proactive measures to minimize the impact of the disruption to our customers. They provide planning assistance, support, and direction to minimize customer disruptions in the deployment of operational recovery initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary gateway into SOC on matters of customer service and passenger movement. Screen requests and set priorities for action by the Operations Control Manager (OCM) and team. 
• Coordinate within the Planning Unit additional flying, diversions, and other special operations to protect and enhance the customer experience. 
• Identify and protect mission critical flying. (On Time Performance objectives, Crew duty day etc.) 
• Provide flight specific customer analysis (groups, priority passengers, etc.) in support of day of flight aircraft plans and assignments. 
• Coordinate with operational stakeholders on the passenger re-accommodation process by identifying affected flights, protection opportunities and assigning action as required. 
• Ensure irregular operations and customer information is communicated to key operational stakeholders (airports and call centres.).

Qualifications

• Post-Secondary Education in a related field an asset.

• Knowledge in Altea CM, Inventory, Netline, Microsoft, and Communicator applications is an asset.

• Implements detailed plans and recommends policies/procedures regarding Ontario Works Program specific financial requirements.
• Oversees and is responsible for the preparation of the Division’s capital and operating budget submissions; reviews, analyzes and develops and coordinates the reconciliation and justification for budget requests.
• Prepares budget presentations, briefing notes and supporting documentation as well as prepares consolidated financial reports in response to requests from Members of Council, the Provincial staff and senior management.
• Monitors, reviews, and analyzes expenditures and revenues to ensure they do not exceed approved funding levels; identifies significant program cost variances and recommends key strategic initiatives/corrective action to senior management.

Key Qualifications:
