What you will do:

• Operate the telephone switchboard and receive all incoming calls; determine the nature of calls; answer, ask questions and/or transfer calls to the appropriate person or division
• Act as the first contact on site with visitors
• Direct visitors and/or notify relevant employees
• Provides assistance and administrative support to other departments within the office
• Update branch phone number and address lists
• Perform a wide variety of general office work and assist with data entry as required
• Arranges special deliveries, registered mail and courier services when required
• Maintain records of postage and courier charges and verify courier charges billed to the organization
• Perform other administrative and clerical tasks as required

What you will bring:

• Post-secondary education and at least two (2) to three (3) years of experience in the field, preferably in an office environment or in the industrial distribution sector, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience working on a multi-line telephone switchboard
• Knowledge of general office procedures and general office equipment
• Working knowledge of MS Office applications is required
• Consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment and work efficiently within time constraints
• Highly organized in prioritizing work and managing multiple tasks

Shift timings: Monday to Friday, Day Shift. Hours TBD.

Location: Bay St. and Richmond St. W.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform access control provision duties, verify visitors coming on-site.
• Escort medical staff including paramedics, police and firefighters when required.
• Respond to medical emergencies and be prepared to perform CPR and AED if needed.
• Unlock and lock doors for access by authorized persons.
• Follow security breach procedures by notifying supervisors or other appropriate personnel when security breaches occur.
• Monitor CCTV footage and cameras for irregularities and perform dispatch duties for the site including emergency response.
• Perform foot patrols inside the facility.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Valid Ontario Security License
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certification
• 2+ years of Security experience within a corporate environment
• Strong understanding of security protocols and procedures, including emergency response
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Team player and outstanding customer service abilities
• Must be available to work various shifts based on business needs.

Wages: $ 24.60 an hour.

Shift timings: Rotational (Days/Afternoon/Nights/Weekends)

4 days on 4 days off

Must have reliable transportation to commute to GM CAMI Assembly in Ingersoll and have a valid G driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract.

RESPONSIBILITIES: (Duties Include but are not Limited to)

• Reports to the shift security supervisor. 
• Responsible for enforcing access control for visitors on site. 
• Directing traffic to their appropriate drop-off/pick up areas.
• Entering incoming deliveries into global supply chain programs. 
• Assisting in emergency incidents by directing outside emergency services. 
• Perform fire watch duties as required. 
• Perform all other duties directed and assigned by Site Leadership team. 
• Secure international freight using high security seal process. 
• Inspect incoming trailers per local safety standard. 

Qualifications:

• Be able to read, write and speak in English and possess reading, writing and comprehension skills sufficient to compose written reports and interpret rules, regulations, policies and similar instructions. 
• Have work experience in security, policing or a related field. 
• Possess a valid Ontario Security Guard License and First Aid/CPR certification. 
• Must be able to obtain a clear driver’s abstract. 
• Have working knowledge of various computer applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. 
• Have working knowledge of access control, CCTV and life safety systems. 

Skills and Abilities: 

• Be poised, tactful and diplomatic and be able to make decisions and exercise good judgment under stress and in critical emergency situations. 
• Due to the nature of work being performed, must be in good physical condition and able to perform the work. 
• Excellent customer service etiquette. 
• Able to work individually and as part of a team with minimal need for supervision or direction. 
• Proven ability to multitask and balance priorities in a dynamic environment.
