POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance of all systems associated with Work Equipment (Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic)
- Make Inspections and tests. Repair or replace parts with limited resources in remote locations outdoors
- Perform welding repairs
- Investigate and locate equipment problems and take corrective action minimizing the impact on crew production
- Plan work and co-ordinate it with others
- Prepare and submit equipment maintenance records, time sheets etc.
- Obtain certification in CPKC safety rules
- The work location is outdoors and, therefore, you will be working in all weather conditions (rain, direct sunlight, snow etc.)
- Will be required to be away from home for several days at times, travel expenses and meal allowance covered
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- A Journeyman's certificate as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic/Technician OR a Journeyman’s certificate as an Automotive Mechanic/Technician, OR a registered and active 2nd or 3rd year apprentice in Heavy-Duty Mechanics
- Ability to carefully monitor gauges, instruments, or processes
- Ability to take action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment
- Ability to follow instructions; solid written and verbal communications skills
- Must be able to work as a member of a team

Main Purpose and Function

The After-Hours Public Works Dispatcher performs their duties with relatively little supervision and is required to make decisions based on knowledge of departmental and City policies and procedures.
The successful candidates must have a large degree of flexibility to meet operational requirements which are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including ability to work overnight shifts, weekends and statutory holidays on a pre-scheduled and short-notice basis. The shifts are based on an 8-hour work day and may include 7:00am - 3:00pm, 3:00pm - 11:00pm, or 11:00pm - 7:00am.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Researching and providing complex and accurate utility information from utility maps, external utility companies, GIS, VanMap and Hansen to crews and the public upon request.
- Monitoring, reporting and responding to water, sewer, intrusion, fire and other system alarms.
- Maintaining and updating computer and manual record systems.
- Answering the phone and dispatching crews.
- Performing SAP data entry for payroll time entry, costs and billing.
- Providing liaison from mobile users to branch offices, City Hall and other public agencies as required. Assist Police, Fire and related departments under emergency conditions.
- Dealing extensively with staff and the public.
- Word processing, spreadsheet and database duties as required.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Completion of Grade 12, including or supplemented by courses in mapping software, MS Office programs and other standard software courses, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Considerable related clerical experience working with computerized record keeping systems, as well as excellent numerical skills with good attention to detail, effective keyboarding and accurate data entry ability.
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior public works dispatch and operator experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Considerable knowledge of applications such as MS Word, Access and Excel are required.
- Knowledge of OMS, VanMap, ENGIS, SIS, Hansen and SAP or equivalent programs are preferred
- Good organizational skills to handle a heavy workload, and demonstrated ability to handle volume with deadlines, frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
- Some experience in doing payroll time entry, accounts payable and activity allocations in SAP;
- Experience in using and operating a maintenance/asset management systems such as Hansen and a sound knowledge of underground utilities and knowledge of operational work for street maintenance and traffic crews and underground and overhead utility crews.
- Ability to remain motivated working alone.
- Good attendance is of operational importance.

- Greet customers when they enter the store and take customers to product when required
- Generate sales by educating, advising, and suggesting products to every customer
- Maintain a high level of service and product knowledge by completing all training within the required timeline
- Escort customers from the store and/or offer car service when appropriate
Financial
- Complete customer transactions on the Point-of-Sale (POS) device, including payment
- Ensure all cash handling policies & procedures are adhered to
- Ensure all opening & closing procedures are done correctly (when applicable)
- Complete end of day till reports (when applicable)
- Ensure safe is locked at all times and deposits are secured (when applicable)
Day to Day Operations
- Perform all opening and closing procedures (when applicable)
- Stock shelves and cooler with product
- Participate in merchandising and promotional activities
- Participate in routine store maintenance and cleaning
- Other tasks as assigned
Regulatory Adherence
- Ensure that OHS, LP, ProServe, and other regulatory requirements and procedures are implemented and adhered to
- Maintain First-Aid, LP, and OHS Training
- Maintain ProServe Certification
- Ensure AGLC other government guidelines are met
- Adheres to all SNDL policies, with a focus on Social Responsibility
Qualifications
Work Experience
- Minimum, 1-year experience in a retail environment (preferred, not required)
- Previous liquor-related experience considered an asset
Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- ProServe Certification
- First-Aid Certificate is considered an asset
- Training in wine/beer/spirits (preferred, not required)
Physical Requirements
- Available to work a varied retail schedule, including evening and weekends
- Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to stand for an extended period
- Comfortable climbing ladders

SUMMARY:
Songhees Nation is looking to hire a Boat Operator for on water works. The Boat Operator will be
responsible for the general operation and maintenance of the boat, as well as other duties as required. This
position is currently available to Songhees Nation Members only.
KEY DUTIES:
• Loading and unloading passengers.
• Driving and docking the boat.
• Cleaning and maintaining the boat regularly.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
*Any of the certificates stated below are considered assets, however training will be provided for the right
candidate*
• Knowledge of tools, equipment, techniques, skills, materials, and maintenance of boats.
• Small Vessel Operators Proficiency (SVOP) Certification training
• Marine VHF Radio
• Marine/Basic First AID Training
• Valid BC Drivers License
• Marine & Boat Safety
• Drone Pilot Training
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Grade 12 Diploma
• Experience in operating and/or being on a boat.
WORK CONDITIONS:
• Sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting/kneeling, reaching, grasping, pushing/pulling,
twisting/bending, lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs multiple times per shift
