As an Accounting Clerk III, you will be key to ensuring accurate and efficient financial operations within the branch. Your responsibilities include processing payments, reconciling accounts, providing budget support, and managing technology setups. Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Processes payments, refunds, invoices, initiates purchase requisitions, and enters data and transactions
  • Reconciliation of online payments
  • Conducts months end, year-end, and purchase order reconciliations
  • Processes and reconciles P-card transactions
  • Acts as IT liaison for branch for new staff arranging technology connections/devices
  • Tracks and administers parking ticket software access
  • Prepares standard correspondence for summons, refunds, NSF cheques, and related issues
  • Opens, sorts, and distributes mail as well as shipping and receiving
  • Answers calls and provides customer service as back-up when required
  • Tracks inventory, repair management, and tests enforcement equipment
  • Maintains filing systems in accordance with branch procedure and corporate records management policies and procedures
  • Manages off site storage for the branch

  • Completes searches, inputs data, validates data, and generates reports and lists from programs and applications

Key Qualifications

  • Completion of secondary school or equivalency
  • Minimum of nine months of previous and on-the-job administrative, clerical, and/or cashier experience
  • Knowledge of payment processing, invoicing, and reconciliation practices
  • Knowledge of office administration and financial processes
  • Understanding of specific branch operations and broader divisions/departments
  • Familiarity with relevant collective agreements, bylaws, policies, procedures, and legislation, including health and safety standards

Position Summary

This position enforces fire prevention regulations of the City of Regina and the Province of Saskatchewan. An Inspector will conduct inspections on all types of new/existing buildings to ensure conformity/compliance with applicable by-laws, codes, regulations and prepares and presents public fire safety education programs and other applicable duties as assigned. This position reports to the Fire Marshal.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Investigates complaints and follow-up on fire department inspections to initiate enforcement activities, when and as required
  • Inspects new and existing occupancies, and installations to identify fire hazards, deficiencies in fire safety systems, construction and Building and Occupant Fire Safety to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, provincial statutes, municipal bylaws and zoning applications.
  • Performs fire safety plan review, general and specialized inspections that include sprinkler, fire alarm and commercial cooking systems.
  • Conducts fire/explosion investigations to establish cause, origin and circumstances, secures and preserves evidence and testifies in court as required.
  • Conducts building plan reviews and assists with final building inspections, when and as required.

  • Inspects the storage and handling of flammable, combustible, toxic, corrosive and other hazardous materials.

Key Qualifications

Fire Inspector I

The knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position are obtained through completion of Grade 12 Diploma and typically a minimum of six (6) years as an active Fire Fighter or Fire Protection Engineering Technology diploma coupled with IFSAC Certified Fire Inspector NFPA 1031, Level I and II and IFSAC Certified Fire Investigator 1033. This employee also performs cashier duties including receipt of funds, issuance of receipts, balancing and preparation of bank deposits.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answers and deals with client inquiries, services requests and complaints in person and over the phone. Responds to all client inquires and requests.
  • Performs cashier duties including receipt of funds, issuance of receipts, balancing and preparation of bank deposits.
  • Monitors and allows access of clients into the facility and maintains the necessary statistical data.
  • Follows all rules and regulations as set out in the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the City of Regina Occupational Health and Safety Manual.

  • Knowledge of cash handling policies and procedures.
  • Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with the public.
  • Ability to operate cash handling equipment.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships.

  • Ability to handle large sums of money, keep records of account and perform cash balancing.
  • Ability to follow all safety regulations as set out in the section or department to which assigned.

This position offers the opportunity to become a skilled professional driver. Under general supervision, the employee in this position operates a transit vehicle in a safe and courteous manner and provides effective and safe transportation for the citizens of Regina, while providing exemplary customer service.  Employees must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job including, but not limited to, performing the following tasks, which are constant during a normal shift as a Bus Operator:

  • Ability to sit for long periods of time in the driver’s seat while wearing a seat belt.
  • Ability to bend, twist body and to manipulate controls independently or simultaneously at any given time, while wearing a seatbelt in the driver’s seat.
  • Ability to “reach over-head” with both arms to manipulate controls.
  • Constant twisting and neck rotation of different ranges to check mirrors, blind spots etc.
  • Ability to perform required pre-trip inspection, which involves walking, bending, squatting, reaching, twisting body in many different positions.
  • Medium duty lifting while assisting customers with special needs.
  • Constant gripping, pulling and pushing to manipulate control (steering controls, control valves, etc.)
  • Bending, stooping, crouching and twisting in order to keep doorways clear of ice and snow build-up.

Note: Work schedules vary, seven (7) days per week including split shifts, early mornings, evenings, late nights, weekends and holidays. Days off vary.   This is a seniority-based environment where work schedules, days off, vacation and other absences are based on seniority and availability to maintain service levels.

 

Key Qualifications:

  • Communicate clearly and respectfully verbally, in writing and on the two-way radio.
  • Transport passengers on schedule while following all applicable rules and regulations. Assisting passengers with transit information and monitor fares.
  • Ensure passenger safety when boarding, riding, and departing buses.
  • Reports all operational problems, collisions, delays and/or mechanical problems.
  • Navigate a variety of challenging and complex customer interactions respectfully while multi-tasking to always ensure the safety of the passengers.
  • Dealing with difficult or challenging passengers and the general public.
  • Follow defensive driving guidelines and local traffic laws.
  • Contribute to Regina Transits professional image by demonstrating safe, responsible and ethical behavior in all activities.
  • Punctuality when reporting for duty is imperative.
  • Perform required inspection and air brake test of vehicle according to Regina Transit policies and procedures.
  • Perform related duties as required.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

  • Demonstrated initiative, judgement and superior skill in the operation of buses in a wide range of weather and road conditions.
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service at all times while dealing with situations in a professional manner.
  • Remaining calm and self-controlled when dealing with difficult situations.
  • Co-operate with Transit Supervisors, other City agencies and/or departments to meet customers’ needs.
  • Ability to achieve results while being mindful of a respectful, inclusive and service-minded work environment.
  • Attention to detail and able to adhere to specific procedures/instructions.
  • Knowledge of City of Regina geographic layout (streets, landmarks, places of interest etc). 
  • Map reading skill are essential.
  • Completion of Grade twelve (12), GED or equivalent, including a suitable driving and work history record and demonstrated ability to deal with the public.

Under the supervision of an Aquatic Program Specialist or Aquatic Training Specialist, this position performs responsible lifeguard and/or instructional duties at any City of Regina aquatic facilities. The work assigned involves ensuring the safety of patrons and proper facility usage. This position may be transferred between aquatics facilities and will be required to work non-standard hours.


Typical duties include:

  • Ensures that proper safety procedures are followed an in cases of emergency, performs first aid, water rescues and other lifeguarding skills and techniques as required.
  • Carries out responsible lifeguard and instructional duties and ensures a safe and healthy environment conducive to aquatic enjoyment and education.
  • Participates in mandatory sessional staff training and development programs.
  • Assumes responsibility for individual lesson plans, class attendance, class evaluations, progress cards, and test sheets as required.
  • Enforces swimming pool rules and regulations as outlined by the City of Regina and the Saskatchewan Public Health Act.
  • Assists in cleaning and disinfecting duties, as required.
  • Supervises the activities of the patrons using the facility, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Maintains good public relations with patrons and facility staff.

This position is responsible for performing highly skilled journeyperson mechanic duties in the Transit Fleet Maintenance Branch.  This position reports to the Supervisor of Maintenance and Equipment. 
 

Note: May be required to work varying day, evening and weekend shifts. Evening shifts are subject to a $1.00/Hour shift differential and Sunday shall be paid at the rate of time and a quarter.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance and overhauls bus engines, transmissions, differentials, brakes, suspension, steering, HVAC and all auxiliary equipment, including electrical components.
  • Assists in determining and ordering parts and materials necessary for repair of equipment.
  • Diagnoses mechanical and electrical defects.
  • Performs Highway Traffic Board safety inspections and related repairs.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Considerable knowledge of the practices, methods, tools and equipment used in the overhauling, repair and maintenance of heavy duty and automotive equipment.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings and manuals.
  • Ability to prepare concise reports related to all work performed.
  • Ability to maintain co-operative and harmonious working relations with other employees.
  • Demonstrated skill in diagnosing mechanical defects on a variety of equipment.

Education & Experience

Typically, the knowledge, skills and abilities required for this position are obtained through completion of a Journeyperson Certificate in Truck and Transport Trade, Heavy Duty Mechanics, Agriculture Machinery Technician or Automotive Service Technician, combined with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in truck and transport mechanical repair including training and experience in the heavy-duty automatic transmission and automotive electrical fields. Training and experience in Allison Automatic and ZF Transmissions, Automotive Electrical systems, and Cummins diesel engines is preferred.

Working/Other Conditions

Must have or be able to obtain a Class 5A License.
