Job Description:
- Provide advice and guidance on customer service requests; troubleshoot and identify customer issues and provide recommendations on repairs
- Research, develop and provide estimated completion date based on identified scope of work
- Recommend and provide alternate solutions or options to the customer
- Manage all customer service and warranty repair process including ensuring compliance with service-related policies (WO signing, travel, etc.)
- Develop and deliver detailed work breakdown structure, with defined tasks, resource requirements and schedule
- Develop a communication plan to ensure a clear understanding of service requests, timelines, and deliverables, incorporating all key stakeholders
- Engage with service supervisors to participate in pre, mid and post job meetings as well as daily scheduling / planning meetings with key stakeholders, ensuring a strong customer experience
Qualifications:
- 2+ years' of experience in technical service, parts, warranty or repair from a dealership or similar industry, prior Caterpillar product line preferred
- Completion of technical training and education in a relevant area such as Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) or other disciplines would be an asset
- Red Seal certification would be beneficial
- Strong communication (both verbal and written)
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, project management and prior customer service experience
- Project Management training (PMP) would be an asset
- Strong business and financial acumen, the ability to develop budgets/estimates and manage costs/identify risks
- High proficiency in Microsoft applications, specifically Access, Excel and Word

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

TRAINING
You will receive 16 weeks of paid in-class and field training that’s in a real operations environment. CPKC’s training program sets you up for success by focusing on safety practices, rules and operations. You will earn 80% of the job rate ($188.23 per day) when you start classroom training. Upon successful completion of the classroom portion (including part II exams) you will earn 90% of the job rate ($211.76 per day).
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Work in train or yard service depending on seniority
- Strictly follow and execute work according to operating rules and safety procedures
- Carry out specific instructions detailing a train's route and specific movements
- Coordinate the switching of cars, including coupling and uncoupling cars and lifting out coupling device
- Observe, interpret, and relay signals and other indications affecting movement of train
- Signal crew members for movement of the engine or train using specific signals, or radio to indicate when to start, stop, back-up, set or release air brakes
- Have a thorough understanding of and follow General Code of Operating Rules (GCOR), General Orders and Bulletins as they pertain to the safe movement of trains, goods, and hazardous materials, ensuring the safety of CPKC employees and the general public
- Provide flag protection and relay signals to trains in an emergency situation as stipulated in the operating rules
- Move on and off moving or stationary equipment while train is perforing industrial, station or yard switiching
- Ride moving car by hanging onto grab irons or ladder, sometimes for extended periods of time
- Fill out required forms including: train orders and switch lists and prepares required clear and legible reports
- Maintain first aid qualifications and apply first aid in emergency situations
- Monitor yard operations area and be alert to changing conditions, take safe and responsible action to prevent personal injury and equipment damange
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Available for call 24 hours per day and respond to the designated work site within two hours of receiving the call
- Work schedules are irregular and are determined by the rotation of the extra board including weekends and holidays

- Drawing on your knowledge and experience you will provide coaching and consultation to donor centre staff, acting as team lead for collection events as needed.
- With your excellent interpersonal skills, you will work in a diverse team environment assisting in the collection of whole blood and/or apheresis blood components which save lives daily.
- At mobile events within our communities, you will assist in setting up booths, tables, and other equipment to ensure donor clinics are properly set up for use.
Desired education and skills
- Completion of accredited nursing program and current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the province is required.
- Two years of experience working as a nurse is considered an asset as is a certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Previous experience as a preceptor or with coaching others is an asset.
- Technical skills including Microsoft Word and Outlook, and the ability to learn new systems and programs.
- A second language is considered an asset to support a positive donor experience.

What you can expect
- Shifts/hours will vary. You must be flexible to accommodate assigned shifts which are based on operational needs; length of shifts varies according to the event which takes place at Canadian Blood Services at mobile donor centers.
- Applicants must be willing to travel and be available for Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Hours of work are based on a 52 week rotations. Start and stop time are as follows: 1145-1945, 0945-1745, 1100-1900, 1045-1800, 1045-1845, 1200-2000, 1000-1800, 1030-1830, 0845-1645.
- Travel will be required for mobile events, and transportation will be provided by Canadian Blood Services.
- Must be able to attend mandatory orientation and training in Vancouver.
- Physical requirements for the role include the ability to lift weights up to 10 kg (22 lbs.).
