Main Purpose & Function 
The Electrical Technician I will perform detailed technical work including designing, estimating, inspecting, providing technical reviews, ordering materials, developing project scope and coordinating projects related to City's electrical and communication infrastructure and within responsibilities of Traffic, Electrical Operations and Design – Electrical Design department.

The regular work hours for this position are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday to Friday. This position is based in National Works Yard, 701 National Avenue. The successful candidate may be required to adjust shifts and change locations as per operational needs.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop design solutions (street lighting, traffic signals, power distribution, communication systems etc.) that meet all applicable codes, standards and regulations.
• Conduct site surveys, inspections or technical investigations to collect data for engineering projects.
• Liaison with internal and external customers, other City divisions/departments, electricians, superintendents, civil crews, project coordinators/managers, consultants, various Business Improvement Associations and general public.
• Provide estimates for construction (labor and material) using in-house software.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Completion of the twelfth school grade supplemented by either completion of electrical apprenticeship or recognized electrical technician courses/program.
• Considerable experience as an electrical designer or electrical technologist, electrician or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Experience in street lighting design and traffic signal design will be considered an asset.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, AGI32, Word, Excel and ETAP is considered an asset.

Main Purpose and Function

The HR Systems and Reporting Analyst works as a member of the HR Systems and Analystics team. Interfacing with key business leaders from client departments, this role enables the City to leverage HR data and metrics supporting strategic and operational decisions. The HR Systems and Reporting Analyst also supports HR transformation by driving accountability, improving transparency and increasing efficiency.

This role partners closely with other Corporate Support teams to foster a culture of data driven decision making across the city by working with client departments to increase HR data literacy, enable data exploration, and disseminate business intelligence tools and processes amongst end users.

The HR Systems and Reporting Analyst provides key labour relations support by providing reporting related to the operational impacts of collective agreements as well as creating ad hoc reports and financial models for collective bargaining.

This role also provides HR systems support and system administration as required.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Reporting and Analytics:
  • Responsible for creating, distributing, analyzing, optimizing and automating reports on a scheduled basis or Ad hoc as needed
  • Designs, develops and maintains dashboards with a variety of data visualization tools using interaction design best practices

Specific duties include assisting in food preparation, including preparing and packaging catering orders and light meals; operating the concession point of sale and cash accounts records; serving customers; training and supervising concession volunteers; ensuring the concession is properly stocked; cleaning and maintaining cleaning and hygiene standards; conducting cash-outs; and assisting kitchen staff in cleaning, receiving deliveries and other related duties as required.
