As a Gen AI Quality Assurance Engineer Manager, you’llwork as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Participate in all testing activities during the agile product implementation process, ensuring the quality and reliability of our Gen AI solutions

Contribute to insights, risk evaluations and estimation discussions, ensuring that testing considerations are well-integrated into project planning

Propose innovative ideas and improvements to the testing process of the Gen AI solution, continuously enhancing its quality

Identify opportunities for automation as you will be responsible for implementing in house testing automation frameworks to streamline and expedite the testing process

Facilitate communication between development teams, UX/UI designers, and product managers to ensure alignment on project goals and quality standards

Analyze project requirements, user feedback, and architectural and design documents to ensure completeness and testability

Update test documentation, and create comprehensive reports while maintaining traceability back to project requirements

Investigate and determine the source of problems, which may include identifying test deficiencies or deviations from requirements

Formulate and executing a robust test strategy tailored to the specific requirements of the Gen AI project

Utilize our bug tracking system to record, trace, and drive the resolution of defects and issues discovered during testing

- Additional responsibilities include planting and removing trees as required with using hand tools and mechanized equipment.
- The Arborist IA will have to lift and transplant established trees to accommodate site modifications, identifies diseased trees or trees that are potentially hazardous to public safety, and undertakes emergency control action as required and informs superiors of situations.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Completion of the tenth school grade plus considerable experience in street tree operations and in the operation of a boom truck, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Experience in the use of climbing equipment and rigging techniques, and in planting and transplanting techniques.
- Utility Arborist – Certificate of qualification is required.
- Level I First Aid Certificate is required.
- Pesticide Applicator’s Certificate when required
- Power System Safety Certificate is an asset.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Thorough knowledge of arboriculture methods, standards and practices, City and Park Board safety protocols, and arboriculture and utility arboriculture safe work procedures.
- Considerable knowledge of growth habits and maintenance requirements of various tree species.
- Working knowledge of arboriculture pests and diseases, and integrated pest management practices.

This position is primarily responsible for the efficient operation of the landfill gas control system at the Vancouver Landfill in Delta. More specifically, the position is to maximize gas collection and utilization while at the same time minimizing the risk of landfill fire, emission of greenhouse gases/odours and ensuring the safety of the staff/public. Due care and attention is required at all times during data collection to identify problems and make operational adjustments or minor repairs to minimize the risk of fire/explosion.
This position will be based out the Vancouver Landfill in Delta, BC. Regular hours of work are between 7:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday, however there is an after-hours standby and response component to the position that could include working weekends and holidays. This duty is shared between other Engineering Assistants in the Branch. Work location and days/hours may be subject to change in accordance with the Collective Agreement and operational requirements.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
- Conducting Landfill gas well field monitoring including data logging for the well field, manifolds, and flaring station.
- Routine maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration of instruments used for monitoring including: Landtec Gem 5000, Draeger Gas Monitors, Trimble devices etc.
- Installation, operation and maintenance of the landfill gas pneumatic pumping system.
- Routine field monitoring including liquid levels, temperature probes (permanent and down well), pipeline inspection camera operation and data interpretation, and equipment inspections.
- Routine and reactive maintenance on all field equipment related to the landfill gas system.
- Analysing, interpreting, and presenting data to other Engineering Assistants and landfill management staff, including identification of trends or anomalies and recommendations for follow on work
- Liaising with contractors or other City forces and consultants who provide contracting and professional services with respect to the operation of the system.
- Landfill gas data management and analysis, using specialized data management software.
- Reading, reviewing and updating safe operating procedures related to landfill gas tasks.
- Conducting presentations and tours of the Landfill and/or Landfill Gas system as needed for staff and members of the public.
- Backfilling for GPS survey technician for minimal periods.
- Backfilling for other landfill gas technicians during vacation or absence.
- Participating in the roster for after-hours call out for monitoring the onsite flare station.
- The incumbent will be responsible to carry out their assignned tasks, determining their own task schedule based on the deadlines.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Completion of a program in Environmental Protection Technology, Environmental Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, and some experience as an Engineering Assistant I or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Canada Safety Council UTV/ATV Operators Certificate or equivalent is an asset.
- Experience using handheld measurement equipment is an asset. Examples of equipment include: Landtec GEM or other landfill gas analyzer with data logging capability, personal gas monitor, and GPS equipment (Trimble or similar).
- Experience and training in working with explosive gases, surveying, i.e. using GPS and level instruments, and conducting water quality monitoring or vapour monitoring is an asset.
- A current and valid BC Class 5 driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the City of Vancouver policies is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of various computer programs including MS Office and database software.
- Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills with the ability to effectively liaise with all levels of staff, including operations staff, engineering staff and superintendents.
- Ability to perform detailed work accurately and to assess data independently in order to make operational changes as needed.
- Strong organizational skills to be able to take initiative and perform duties with minimal instruction while meeting scheduling requirements.
- Ability to perform physical work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods of time.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools and handheld power tools is an asset.
- Ability to carry out tasks and determine own task schedule based on the task deadlines.

- Performs and assists the Maintenance Technician in completing general maintenance and shut down and/or start up by following safety operating procedure on the refrigeration plant system
- Connects, assists access for trades and contractors in completing building maintenance and service
- Reviews and monitors refrigeration plant maintenance activities to ensure compliance with BCSA – BC Safety Authority and Regulations
- Assists in reporting and preventing facility vandalism
- Performs basic preventive maintenance and lubrication on pumps, motors and related equipment
- Secures facilities and grounds for the purpose of minimizing property damage, loss and liability and ensuring safety at work site
- Maintains a cooperative working relationship with those contacted in the course of work
- Performs routine janitorial job functions and responsibilities
- Cleans changing rooms and washrooms
- Ensures proper labeling, dilution and use of all chemicals
- Wears proper personal protective equipment at all times
- Cleans grounds and parking lots of litter, glass or other debris
- Removes snow from sidewalks, driveways and parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers and snow shovels and spreading ice melt/salt in areas
- Monitors building security and safety be performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours and opening doors for regular operating hours, checking to ensure that hazards are not created or prevented
- Plays an active role in reporting and investigating emergency situations
- Makes rounds of the building and grounds at regular intervals at night inspecting doors, windows, and locks to see that they are properly and securely fastened
- Observes appearances and conditions of premises and equipment, reports needed repairs, service, safety hazards or conditions requiring attention to the supervisor
- Replaces light bulbs and fluorescent tubes and tags accordantly if ballast failure
- Coordinates the work of janitorial team by assigning, scheduling and assessing the competition of work and tasks
- Ensures quality control and best practices by inspecting work in progress and upon competition
- May assist in completing monthly workplace inspections as required
- May work independently with little or no supervision
- Completes other duties/responsibilities as assigned
Minimum Position Requirements
Required Training, Certifications and Experience:
- Completion of Grade 10; preferable supplemented by technical training related to the work plus some related experience; completion of a recognized program in building service work OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Ice Facility Operator or Refrigeration Operator (5th class refrigeration) Certificate from the BC Safety Authority.
- Valid driver’s license required – Drivers abstract
Preferences:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least two (2) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience related to the job description
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of operations, maintenance and requirements of an ice rink and refrigeration plant and overall recreation facility
- Knowledge of basic preventative maintenance of pumps, motors, safety equipment and other items related to an ice rink and refrigeration plant
- Knowledge of operating and maintaining a variety of ice rink facilities and equipment
- Basic knowledge of janitorial and grounds maintenance practices
- Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment related to the work
- Ability to maintain accurate records and files
- Ability to interpret, apply and explain policies, procedures and guidelines
- Ability to understand and following oral and written directions
- Knowledge and understanding of the Emergency Evacuation Procedures and knowing your key responsibility
- Ability to perform a variety of routine manual tasks in care, cleaning and general maintenance of building
