  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Completion of the tenth school grade; experience or training in building and mechanical maintenance and repair work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining a City Driver's permit is a requirement of this position
  • 3 years progressively responsible experience in buildings, maintenance and operations is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of the occupational dangers and safety precautions of the trades involved
  • Knowledge of the standard methods, materials, tools and equipment used in one or more of the building or mechanical trades applicable to work assignments
  • Knowledge of departmental and civic policies, regulations and operations affecting the work assigned
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
  • Skill in the use and care of the tools required to perform the work assignments
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships as necessitated by work assignments
  • Ability to perform outside tasks in all weather conditions
  • Basic proficiency in Google Applications and operating tablets, smartphones and laptops
  • Compliance with the City of Edmonton's safety standards for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as wearing steel toed boots, is a requirement for this position
  • Environmental conditions may include: heat, cold, wet, dust, noise
