Responsibilities

  • Maintain and replenish products in store racks, shelves, displays, and coolers by transporting product between backroom/storage room to front-of-store with manual equipment (pallet jack, hand-truck).
  • Build, change or remove product displays while adhering to company standards; maintaining product signage; cleaning product space and securing damaged or defective product.
  • Repetitively lift, carry and position product (weight up to 50lbs or 22kgs) above shoulder height without assistance
  • Consistent kneeling, squatting and reaching above the head
  • Manage backroom by organizing stock (product); identifying, monitoring, and reporting inventory levels; evaluating and processing damaged product; re-packing product; organizing backroom materials (i.e., pallets, product shells etc.); completing any required paperwork
  • Follow all Coke Canada Bottling and Store policies regarding backroom, display floor, replenishment, equipment, and safety
  • Maintain an orderly and clean work area in compliance with Company safety and sanitation requirements.    
  • Maintain professional relationships with co-workers and customers.
  • Ability to push and pull manual and powered equipment (i.e. pallet jack, hand-truck etc.) containing product loads for a minimum of 100 yards without assistance
  • Ability to repetitively grasp and manipulate objects of varying size and weight requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time

Qualifications

  • Must be 17 years of age
  • Minimum one (1) year experience working in grocery, retail, warehousing or related field preferred
  • Experience working with manual or powered pallet jacks preferred
  • Minimum one (1) year experience working under little to no supervision preferred
  • Must have a personal vehicle for use during working hours
  • Must have current vehicle liability insurance
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record with no major violations over the last three (3) years

What you will do:

  • Load and unload product in a timely manner to meet delivery deadlines and customer commitments
  • Deliver orders to customers’ facilities, construction sites other branches or warehouses using the most effective itinerary or assigned itinerary.
  • Receive incoming shipments and checking for accuracy
  • Put away product to correct areas in the warehouse in a timely manner
  • Pick, pack and ship customer orders, including preparing documentation for shipment
  • Liaise with freight companies and inside/outside customers to determine shipping priorities
  • Responsible for transporting material to and from customer sites and other local locations.
  • Obtain necessary shipping documentation related to the assigned route.
  • Load items and orders into truck while adhering to a sometimes tight to delivery schedule.
  • Strap and/or secure material so that there is no damage or breakage to the material during transport.
  • Unload products according to the destination’s applicable rules.
  • Responsible for obtaining a signature of acknowledgment of delivery.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and safety procedures are maintained in the warehouse.

 

What you will bring:

  • Previous warehouse experience required
  • General basic computer skills including Microsoft Office is required
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills
  • Must be dependable and reliable and willing to take initiative
  • Valid G license required.
  • Clean driver’s abstract is required. (No traffic tickets, no points, and no “at-fault” accidents within the last 3 years)
  • Able to regularly lift up to fifty (50lbs) pounds
  • Forklift certified or ability to be certified • WHMIS and TDG certification would be an asset
  • Knowledge of industry (Plumbing and or HVAC) products is an asset

  • Coordinate required inspections & audits; champion internal auditing (ISO 14001/ISO 45001 Lead Auditor).
  • Ensure the yearly NPRI, O.REG. 127-01 and AWS/ESDM reporting documents are complete and ensure submission in a timely manner.
  • Provide guidance to employees on Behaviour Based Safety Program.
  • Coordinate all annually required testing and monitoring such as storm, sanitary testing, hygiene assessments, waste audits, etc.
  • Improve and maintain Health, Safety and Environmental standards to ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Environmental Protection Act and MSM’s policies.
  • Review all accident, incident and near miss investigation reports and make suggestions to prevent recurrence. Aid in the development of corrective actions.
  • Submit claims to WSIB and manage modified work program.
  • Monitor new and revised legislation and remain current with the latest safety requirements.
  • Maintain WHMIS compliance at the Division.
  • Provide the Ministry of Labour with documentation at their request, and accompany them on any plant audits.
  • Ensure compliance with the OH&SA in the approval process for new equipment, and existing equipment modifications based on priority scheduling (LOTO, PSHSR, etc).
  • Coordinate activity on ergonomics, 5S and 3R’s Program.
  • Maintain records of third party contracts relevant to health, safety and environmental issues and legislation.
  • Manage liquid and solid waste disposal, follow up on trends to reduce waste and ensure compliance.
  •  Facilitate and actively participate in the monthly meetings.
  • Continuous improvement responsibilities to enhance the HS/E management program.
  • Annually test and update where required the spill and evacuation procedures.
  • Prepare audit findings and distribute accordingly.
  • Coordinate and administrate hearing tests and pre- placement medical examinations as required.
  • Support department with Sustainability and Energy projects.

Audits and Training

  • Meet Health, Safety and Environment Requirements.

  • Provide service to ensure compliance with OHSA and related legislation.
  • Assist or prepare documentation / paperwork necessary to meet the standards for certification for ISO 14001 and ISO/TS 16949 system and HS/E requirements.
  • Update documentation and issue new revision dates.
  • Ensure the first Aid room is kept clean and updated with required stock.
  • Coordinates and schedules third party audits / inspections, testing and sampling related to health, safety and environmental issues.
  • Conduct health, safety and environmental internal audits and coordinate annual waste audit.
  • Performs tasks and responsibilities as detailed MSM's TS16949 policies, procedures and work instructions.
  • Comply with the designated ISO / 14001 responsibilities related to effective environmental management in accordance with MSM’s Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
  • Issue CAR’s / CA’s and follow up with personnel responsible for corrective action. Summarizing and communicating audit results.
  • To ensure that IMS conforms to the requirements of ISO14001:2015.  Reporting the performance of the management system to Top Management.

 

Health and Safety Responsibilities

  • Observe standards for safe working conditions as outlined in the Occupational Health & Safety Act as well as rules and regulations outlined in the employee handbook.
  • According to OHSA Section 28 (1) (a) (b) (c) (d), (2) (a) (b) (c) and (3):

  • Use or operate any equipment, machine, device or thing or work in a manner that may endanger yourself or any other worker; or
  • Engage in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough and boisterous conduct.
  • You are not required to participate in a prescribed medical surveillance program unless the worker consents to do so.

 

Administrative duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for the administration of WSIB and RTW Program.  Follow ups with sick/injured employee and document RTW Plan.
  • Conducts new employee Orientation.
  • Ensure that all Health & Safety records are kept in an organized manner for quick and efficient access, as per BMS and general record requirements
