Role Description:

As a Lead, DevSecOps within the Canada Life Information Security Department, you will be responsible for the security posture of the products your team supports. You will grow your team through hiring, develop the team through coaching, act as a technical escalation point, and ultimately guide the team through critical decisions that always prioritize our customers.

What you will do:

• Act as a subject matter expert and provide consulting on-demand for various initiatives.
• Manage the daily operations and projects for a team of Application and Offensive Security professionals. 
• Monitor key performance indicator (KPI) metrics, track program and employee performance, and provide reporting to senior management on a regular cadence.
• Collaborate with product and development teams to ensure the adoption of Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) best practices across the organization.

What you will bring:

• Experience leading, managing, and developing high performance teams.
• Experience within an Application Security, Software Security team, or similar operating environment.
• Experience with conducting Offensive Security assessments, such as Penetration Testing or Red Teaming.
• Experience with Threat Modeling and/or Security Architecture.
• Excellent written communication skills, with a focus on translating technically complex issues into simple, easy to understand concepts.
• Ability to think offensively like a hacker and defensively by evaluating applications and architecture.
• Read and write multiple programming languages. Java, C#, JavaScript, Apex, and Python are highly valued, but others will help too.
• Demonstrated knowledge of security best practices, principles, and common frameworks, such as: OWASP, NIST, ISO, SOC, etc.
• Prior experience in implementing and integrating DevSecOps tools for SAST, SCA, DAST, IAST, ASPM, WAF, RASP, Fuzzing, Bug Bounty, etc.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Operates all assigned vehicles, single or tandem axle configuration, forklifts, etc. in accordance with established safety standards and proper vehicle operation techniques. 
• Performs and records daily safety checks of assigned vehicle(s) and associated equipment by conducting pre-trip inspections such as checking fuel and oil levels, inspecting tires, lights, and brakes. Follows the preventative maintenance program and keeps truck clean to maintain professional appearance.
• Loads and unloads containers, pallets, or materials and products safely on trucks, trailers, or railcars by hand or by forklift truck. When loading, ensures loads are evenly balanced and distributed from the front of the trailer to the back and from side to side, as well checks axle weights and maintains them in accordance with the Ministry of Transportation regulations.
• Ensures that all deliveries and pickups are made in accordance with time schedules and performs duties in a manner that promotes superior customer service and professionalism within the company and the industry.
• Ensures that all associated documentation, such as bill of ladings, delivery slips, invoices are completed accurately and returned to the branch location at the end of the day in order to ensure timely receiving and payment of invoices.
• Completes the necessary paperwork including accurate logbooks, records of cargo and any other assigned record-keeping duties on a daily basis.

Working Conditions:

Mostly outdoors and behind the wheel of a truck.  Physical activity includes operating, loading/unloading equipment, inspecting vehicles and equipment, walking, climbing, occasionally in awkward positions, in an environment which may be characterized by changes in temperature.  Working occasional irregular hours as needed; may include overtime, evenings, weekends, statutory holidays and to work extended hours as business conditions warrant.

Contributing in this role means:

• Carry out the installation, maintenance and mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic repair of equipment and the building;
• Ensure checks and maintenance of the refrigeration and air conditioning systems as well as ensuring the proper functioning of the steam boiler;
• Sanitary welding (TIG);
• Carry out the work to be done according to established priorities, the availability of equipment and materials required;
• Perform inspection and preventive maintenance of equipment;

The qualifications sought are:

• Hold a DEP in electromechanics or other similar training;
• Hold a C license (Asset)
• Have concrete knowledge of electrical systems, reading plans or diagrams.
• Have skills with automation systems in a predominantly Allen-Bradley environment;
• Have a minimum knowledge of operator interfaces (HMI), Allen-Bradley and Omron;
• Master the operation of electric motors and frequency variators.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with a production line operating in continuous mode with very short intervention times.
