The successful applicants will be responsible for manual cleaning duties, including the use of light and heavy custodial equipment.
Specifically, you will:
- Dust and polish desks and furniture; empty and clean waste paper baskets in offices
- Clean and disinfect vertical and horizontal surfaces; perform light mopping and vacuuming
- Complete cleaning, disinfecting and servicing of washroom, kitchen areas and locker room facilities daily
- Use heavy cleaning equipment and supplies for washing, sweeping, stripping, waxing and polishing floors, and steam cleaning carpets
- Move audio-visual equipment, platforms, tables, chairs and office furniture for cleaning purposes or event setup and take-down
- Report when minor repairs are required
- Keep records of attendance, operations and repairs, including both written and data entry
- Secure and lock gates and doors of buildings and City property
- Follow established cleaning procedures and perform other related duties as required
Qualifications
- Completion of the 10th school grade
- Minimum 1 year experience in custodial work. An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered
- Completion or enrollment in the Building Service Worker Program from a recognized post secondary institution would be considered an asset
- Able to understand, communicate, read and write English at a level needed to meet job-related task and safety requirements
- Ability to perform duties according to a work schedule and under minimum direction
- Physical strength and the ability to perform the light and heavy custodial duties
- Knowledge of and experience with approved cleaning techniques and procedures
- Skill in the use of cleaning machines and equipment
- Committed to safety using occupational health and safety and environmental standards and procedures
- Ability to work with people of all levels within the organization in a professional manner and demonstrate trust and responsibility in the performance of duties
- Successful candidates will be fit for a respirator, and compliance with the City of Edmonton's Code of Practice for Respiratory Protective Equipment, including medical monitoring, is a requirement of this position
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's licence (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining a City Driver's permit may be required for this position

The successful candidate will be responsible for diverse, complex technical work involving a variety of business processes within a municipal land use environment for the 2025 Edmonton Election.
This position specializes in technical geospatial work applying advanced knowledge of computer applications in spatial analyses, creation and distribution of cartographic GIS-based digital and hard copy images for the Edmonton Election, and maintenance of the spatial portion of the Geographic Information Systems Database. - Compile geographic and demographic data from multiple sources for statistical planning and incorporation into documents and reports
- Conduct research to obtain existing datasets
- Maintain current databases and create new databases as required
- Create maps, graphics and other related materials for the Edmonton Election using GIS software (ArcGIS Pro), ETL software (FME) and Enterprise Database (AEGIS).
- Plan and create detailed routes, location-based maps, and schedule for seniors’ accommodation, hospital, institution, and other voting opportunities as required
- Consult with internal and external stakeholders to access fieldwork, satellite and aerial imagery, data and maps
- Prepare detailed City, Ward, and voting subdivision area maps specific to needs of Candidates, Voters, Ward Coordinators, and election workers for candidate canvassing, election planning, and voting station use
- Validate identified residential addresses in preparation for production of address lists
- Coordinate with City of Edmonton GIS staff to maintain the GIS Database including routine data entry as required for maintenance of the GIS Database
- Support other departments with their projects as required
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications
- Completion of a two (2) year diploma in a technology program or equivalent from a recognized institution including coursework in geographic analysis and data management
- A GIS Degree from a recognized technology institution would be considered an asset
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in work related to the work assignments
- 1+ year(s) of Elections experience would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems including Cartographic principles.
- Knowledge of GIS and ETL software
- Demonstrated ability using Google Apps
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to maintain strong working relationships
- High level of comfort using Esri: ArcGIS Pro (ModelBuilder, Branch Versioning, File Geodatabases), and FME: form
- Ability to work well under pressure with imminent deadlines; Good time and work management skills

- Prepare surfaces by washing, steaming, removing old finishes, smoothing surfaces and filling cracks, nicks and holes
- Use of paint remover, blowtorch, sandblaster, wire brush, scraper as required to prepare surfaces
- Arrange and assemble ladders, scaffolding units, etc. and placing drop cloths to protect adjacent furniture, floors, etc. from splattering
- Select or prepare paints or stains and apply to various surfaces using brush, roller or spray equipment
- Cover walls and ceilings with decorative wallpaper or natural or synthetic fibers
- Clean equipment and work areas
- Apply special protective coatings
- Guidance for apprentices when required
- Communicate to Foreperson daily on the status of Work Orders Ensure that work orders are completed as scheduled by Foreperson(s) and meet the expectations set out in the business guidelines
- Abide by all Occupational Health and safety and Enviso regulations
- Learn about the different products used in our facilities
- Awareness of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade
- Coordinate tasks with other trades and operations
- Strive to meet customers expectations, keep within estimated costs of projects, demonstrate a high quality of workmanship

Qualifications
- Certified Alberta Journeyman in the trade of Painter and Decorator
- 5 years of experience in related field is an asset
- Considerable knowledge of the properties of paint, lacquer and related finishes, correct proportions and proper techniques for mixing, blending and applying paints or finishes to wood, metal or other materials
- Possess form perception to be able to observe application of coatings for proper thickness, smoothness, quality and detect imperfections
- Possess spatial perception to be able to achieve proper spacing, balance and artistic effect when laying out and painting letters or designs
- Color acuity of a high degree to mix paints to obtain desired color, or to match exact shade of original color
- Manual dexterity to use hand and power tools, to operate spraying machines and for precise and agile movements when painting letters on signs, applying trim, etc.
- Must be physically capable of performing the duties, specifically when dust, noise and various weather conditions exist
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to understand formulas and specifications Ability to gain an understanding of our procurement process
- Commitment to continual learning, teamwork work and providing excellent customer service
- Strength and stamina to work in a variety of positions for extended periods of time along with the ability to work at various heights
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade and the ability to work safely with a variety of equipment
- Current First Aid Certificate or the ability to obtain
- Hire is dependent upon a Police Information Check satisfactory to the City of Edmonton. There may be a cost associated with this requirement
- Possession of Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license (or provincial equivalent). Obtaining and maintaining aCity Driver's Permit is a requirement of this position

The Edmonton Police Service requires two (2) organized, detail-oriented, flexible individual to provide disclosure services to the Charge Report Disclosure Unit of the Information Management and Compliance Branch (IMAC). Responsibilities will include:
- Disclosure of police charge reports to the Crown Prosecutor’s Office.
- Disclosure of audio/visual media files to the Crown Prosecutor’s Office.
- Processing charge reports with accuracy, completeness, and timely disclosure.
- Evaluating charge reports and identifying issues regarding completeness and deadlines.
- Searching charges, courtrooms, accused and assigned prosecutors using a secure province-wide software system.
- Ensuring police reports contain all required documentation.

Qualifications
- Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects with an emphasis on word and information processing, or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college, supplemented by training in basic microcomputer applications.
- A minimum of two (2) years diversified word and information processing experience.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and time management skills.
- Proven technical ability working with various computer software programs and databases.
- Knowledge of the Criminal Code and court procedures would be an asset.
- Demonstrated self-initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Experience with JOIN, CPIC, GlobalScape, and NICHEUA are an asset.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize a high-volume workload in a demanding fast paced environment.
- Mature individual with the ability to adapt to change and work in a multidisciplinary team setting.
