Job Details

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) requires an individual with excellent administrative skills to assume the following duties in the Sexual Assault Section. The responsibilities include: 

  • Provide administrative support for the Sexual Assault Section.
  • Maintain current call out schedule facilitating subpoena service, maintaining officers CARM and ensuring it is accurately reflected.
  • Compiling and maintaining databases for Sexual Assault. 
  • Complete weekly statistical report for Sexual Assault Section.
  • Deal with requests received from Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) and maintaining SART kit supplies.
  • Assisting with administrative duties such as ordering office supplies, incoming and outgoing mail, meeting minutes, and CARM entries. 
  • Fielding inquiries from the public regarding Sexual Assault files. 
  • Other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Completion of the twelfth (12th) school grade including business subjects related to word and information processing or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college, supplemented by training in basic microcomputer applications.
  • A minimum of two (2) years diversified word and information processing experience.
  • Must be prepared to be exposed to the explicit nature of the written and photographic materials that constitute investigations.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with CARM, JOIN, iNetviewer, I-Reporter, EPROS, and CPIC would be considered an asset. 
  • High attention to detail and multi-tasking skills are essential.

  • As part of your pre-hire screening you will be required to complete an Enhanced Security Clearance. Should you accept employment with the Edmonton Police Service you acknowledge and agree to participate in future Enhanced Security Re-Clearances at scheduled intervals or in any other circumstances, exigent or otherwise, as required by Human Resources Division.

Hours of Work: 33.75 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of a variable hours of work program.
 
Salary Range: 21M, Salary Grade: 006, $25.172 - $31.257 (Hourly), $1,699.10 - $2,109.80 (Bi-Weekly), $44,346.77 - $55,067.02 (Annually). The rates quoted are in accordance with a collective agreement between the Union and the City of Edmonton.

Qualifications

 

Educational Background:

 

  • A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering with a C.E.T designation is preferred.  A combination of educational background along with skills/field experience will be considered.  

 

Experience:

 

  • Minimum 2-5 years project coordination and field supervisory experience, estimating experience preferred.
  • Experience managing projects valued $ 500,000 and above.
  • General understanding of construction accounting.
  • Experience managing a project team including jr. coordinators and project support staff.
  • Computer literate.

What will you do?

As an Equipment Operator III during Summer months, you will:

  • Operate a sweeper engaged in the sweeping of roadways and bike lanes

As an integral part of the Talent Acquisition team, the Talent Acquisition Coordinator manages a high volume of administrative tasks in the recruitment life cycle. In this exciting role, you will apply your time management and interpersonal skills while delivering excellent customer service to internal hiring managers and Talent Acquisition Consultants. What will you do?

  • Liaise with Talent Acquisition Consultants/Position Management/Employee Services Centre/Hiring Managers/Candidates
  • Manage the flow of incoming and outgoing correspondence, ensuring that documents are recorded and managed according to policies and procedures
  • Ensure document management, retention, disposition and distribution adhere to FOIP requirements
  • Confirm posting logistics
  • Advertise and/or post positions on various job boards
  • Proofread for accuracy, quality and consistency
  • Close requisitions and  select appropriate onboarding procedures for employees
  • Schedule candidate assessments and/or interviews
  • Draft and send offer letters
  • Manage multiple inboxes and route inquiries to the correct person/team
  • Other related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Completion of grade 12 or equivalent or completion of an appropriate certificate program from an approved business school/college
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible administrative experience supporting high volume talent recruitment within a unionized environment

Assets: 

  • A diploma in human resources or business administration
  • Experience with Taleo, PeopleSoft & OrgPlus
  • Experience in document management, including ensuring documents are handled in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and regulations
  • Experience in and knowledge of using external websites and job boards to advertise requisitions

  • Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions

The City of Edmonton is looking for two experienced communications professionals to join the Integrated Infrastructure Services Department, supporting the LRT Expansion and Renewal Branch.

IIS designs and delivers infrastructure for Edmonton on behalf of City Council and residents. The Communications Advisors will work closely with other team members, construction project managers and consultants to provide integrated communications services for the department.

As a Communications Advisor for this department, you will join a high-performing team dedicated to informing Edmontonians on the progress of new LRT lines as they are constructed. In this position, your strong writing skills will make complex information accessible for Edmontonians. You will take a strategic approach to plan and deliver communications that achieve both the department’s and the City’s goals.

What will you do?

  • Collaborate with colleagues on the IIS team to develop and implement integrated communications, engagement and external relations plans
  • Lead, develop, manage and implement integrated marketing and communications strategies and tactics for both external and internal audiences
  • Collaborate with other communications, engagement and external relations teams across the organization to support the business needs of IIS and the City of Edmonton
  • Identify emerging issues and provide timely advice, responsive issues management and effective strategies to mitigate risks to the organization’s reputation
  • Manage media relations, plan and manage proactive and reactive media events, develop consistent messaging and coach spokespeople
  • Work with both internal and external support services, such as designers, research companies and marketing agencies, to help create effective strategies to meet the business needs of the department
  • Write news releases, public service announcements, media advisories, brochures, newsletters and other communications products
  • Edit, develop and update online and 311 content for programs, projects and initiatives
  • Use diverse communications tools and tactics, such as capturing on-site video/photo and drafting engaging posts for social media, to meet communications goals
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Degree in communications, public relations or related discipline with a minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in a corporate communications, public relations or public affairs position; OR
  • Diploma in communications, public relations or related discipline with four years of progressively responsible experience in a corporate communications, public relations or public affairs position

Assets: 

  • Accreditation in the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) or Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS)
  • Knowledge of City of Edmonton initiatives and programs related to infrastructure design and construction

JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the maintenance, and/or repair, of a variety of physical plant and specialized equipment
in an assigned group of 7-Eleven/Stripes stores within a geographic area. Service calls are initiated from the store via
7Help work orders to appropriate technician. Position reports to the Area Facilities Manager.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • All duties and responsibilities of a Tech 1 and at least 50% proficiency in Tech II duties and responsibilities listed below
  • Responds to work orders for a wide variety of in-store equipment which include, but may not be limited to minor repairs of HVAC, Minor Repairs to Refrigeration, hot beverage equipment (ex. Coffee, Cappuccino) , cold
    beverage equipment (ex. tea, Fountain, FBD, FCB, Creamer Machine), Fountain/Backroom ice makers, Hot food equipment (ex. fryers, griddles tortilla presses, ovens, roller grills, Warmers), Fuel Dispensers (ex. printers, displays card readers, hanging hardware) etc.
