Reporting to the Day Foreman, Maintenance, the successful candidate will be responsible for liaising between Maintenance, Engineering, and Operations ensuring unit maintenance and production issues are discussed, prioritized, addressed, and resolved in a timely manner.

 

The Gas Services Business Unit provides gas gathering, compression, shallow cut processing and both sweet and sour deep cut processing services for its customers, primarily on a fee-for-service basis under long-term contracts.

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

  • Participate in notification approval to ensure the work request(s) adds value, the data is accurate, and the priority is correct;
  • Communicate daily operations priorities/instructions/directives to the operations unit;
  • Prioritize all unit maintenance activities and liaise with the Maintenance Department and operating teams; 
  • Lead daily unit work prioritization meetings;
  • Lead the execution of unplanned emergency / urgent maintenance activities and planned outages;
  • Provide input from a plant operations perspective into detailed work plans, scoping requirements, resource and material requirements, work order follow-up and backlog management;

  • Collaborate with project teams and internal support groups to integrate workloads into the Work order Management System; identifying Outage/Availability impacts in the Planning Process to assist Outage Scheduling;
  • Manage equipment in maintenance and operations procedures or manufacture recommendations;
  • Develop and implement asset management, preventative maintenance plans, and reliability strategies and initiatives;
  • Review daily Operations log to identify issues or opportunities that may affect the current schedule;
  • Support the development of Daily, Weekly and Monthly Schedules for planned work and ensure distribution to the appropriate disciplines;
  • Work with the Maintenance Planners to ensure all departments needs are identified, understood and plans are integrated;

Job Details

As an Alternative Response Officer, you have a unique role in the provision of public safety services in our city by providing investigative and enforcement support to police officers. One day you may find yourself walking the beat and facilitating outreach and referrals for vulnerable persons, and the next day, you may be guarding a crime scene or transporting arrested persons.

Direct Service Delivery

  • Walking the beat, facilitating outreach and referral for vulnerable persons and enforcing infractions under provincial and municipal legislation
  • Meeting with human service agency and civic workers
  • Meeting with community members and business owners
  • Participating in parades, ceremonies and public events

Enforcement Support

  • Assisting units with traffic-related events and escorts
  • Transporting arrested persons
  • Providing assistance in Detention and at the Headquarters Service Centre

Investigative Support

  • Taking complaints from citizens and writing police reports
  • Retrieving physical and imagery evidence from citizens/locations
  • Guarding crime scenes, vehicles and people

Salary: ~$92,758 after five years.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Bachelor of Social Work, Human Justice, or Arts with a focus in human studies; or a grade 12 or GED.
  • Must pass the POPAT with a minimum time of 4:45.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or have permanent residency.

  • Valid, unrestricted class 5 driver’s license.
  • No criminal convictions for which a Pardon has not been granted.
  • No recent illicit drug use.
  • No medical restrictions that would hinder ability to perform ARO duties.
  • Minimum acceptable acuity is 20/60 in each eye or 20/40 in one eye and 20/100 in the other. This acuity is without any corrective lenses. (You will be contacted by a recruiter to have a vision and hearing test, during the recruitment process)

  • Satisfactory employment record.
  • Standard First Aid and CPR Certificate.

A career as a communications operator and 911 dispatcher is a dynamic and fast-paced, yet rewarding career. You are the first voice a person needing help hears, and a critical lifeline to our frontline police officers. Your role is to gather as much information as possible to ensure you’re the difference to both public and officer safety.

We will provide on-the-job training for receiving calls for service, operating the 9-1-1 system, the Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system and the multi-channel trunked radio system.

Salary: ~$92,758 after five years.

Requirements:

  • Screen emergency and non-emergency calls for service
  • Assign priorities and coordinate response activities for multiple patrol units
  • Work 12 hour shifts for two days, two nights, followed by four days off
  • No medical restrictions that would hinder ability to perform duties

As the ideal candidate, you will possess the following qualifications:
