  • Client-Centric: Providing client-centric investment solutions through a financial planning framework, aligning with Global Sales Principles. Conducting complimentary needs analysis across several financial statements, including competitor statements.
  • Community Involvement: Participating actively in local professional and community events and associations to develop and expand your network. Networking with investment industry specialists while managing a small budget for independent marketing-based activities.


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • 3 years of experience in financial planning and investment sales.
  • You’re a mutual funds certified professional. You have current accreditation and good standing for MFDA licensing requirements (Investments Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course).
  • You are actively working towards a Financial Planning designation. You have completed the education requirements towards a Personal Financial Planning (PFP®) designation and/or a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation or  Institut québécois de planification financière (IQPF for Quebec residents) designation.
  • Proven networking, client acquisition and interpersonal skills; experience building and maintaining Centres of Influence (COIs)
  • You’re goal oriented and entrepreneurial. You can work independently as a self-motivated entrepreneur with minimal supervision and as part of a larger team.
  • Extensive knowledge of competitive offerings, market trends, economic conditions, and the regulatory environment.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle, to meet clients and prospects within the designated district.

As the Branch Administrator, you will be a part of the CIBC Wood Gundy team and you will be accountable for effectively managing administrative aspects of Wood Gundy branch operations. How You’ll Succeed

  • Operations/Administration – Oversee and manage day to day branch operations and administration including maintenance of office equipment and supplies, and coordination of office functions and events. Identify opportunities for increased efficiency and monitor and control branch budget and expenses to ensure profitability. Review and process accounts payable for Branch Manager approval, as well as monitor branch summary of revenue and expenses.

  • Sales Support & Customer Service – Assist Branch Manager to perform Investment Advisor duties such as taking buy/sell orders of T-Bills, Corporate Paper, Bankers Acceptances, Mutual Funds, stocks and bonds. Write up trade tickets ensuring accuracy of all particulars pertaining to a trade. Coordinate and notify brokers of new stock and bond issues, cease trades and halt trading. Ensure customer service standards and operational procedures are communicated and maintained by liaising among many departments within Wood Gundy.

  • People Management – Assist with overseeing the hiring, training, scheduling, supervision and performance management of all support staff in the branch. Support Branch Manager in cultivating a performance oriented culture and develop strong employee relations with support staff by treating employees fairly and consistently and maintaining excellent communication.

 

Who You Are

  • You’re a certified professional. You have successfully completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct & Practices Handbook (CPH), in order to obtain Investment Representative (IR) licensing.

  • You have demonstrated experience in the financial service brokerage industry. You have strong organizational and administrative skills to deal with numerous activities in a fast-paced brokerage, with varying degrees of priority.

  • You're passionate about people. You have strong management and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and coach support staff. You have the ability to meet the needs of staff in a highly competitive environment where staff and client mobility is high.

  • You are a strong communicator. You are able to communicate effectively to staff and clients and have problem solving skills sufficient to resolve numerous issues and conflicts.
