Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring that the requirements of all Health, Safety and Environmental Management System policies are implemented and maintained as per the OH&S and other relevant Federal, Provincial or internal requirements.
- Participate and collaborate in all Internal or External audits encompassing the Health, Safety and Environmental Management systems.
- Assist in and take part in all Action Plans developed to address Formet Team Member concerns, Magna Audit requirements, Ministry of Labour/Environment orders and items in regards to Health, Safety and the Environment.
- Contribute to Plant and Department Key Performance Targets related to Health, Safety and Environmental. Analyze environmental usage statistics and make recommendations for improvement.
- Act as liaison with the Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Environment, and Magna’s Corporate Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability Departments.
- Establishes and monitors environmental and sustainability programs and updates/reviews associated policies and procedures as required in accordance to ISO14001, Environmental Legislation, and Cosma and/or Magna Sustainability Requirements.
- Facilitate any additional testing/sampling required as per legislation, guidelines, or the EMS.
- Champions the HWIN (Waste Manifests, account upkeep with the Ministry etc.), NPRI, EPS, GHG, ECA applications / upkeep, including all legal aspects & reporting.
- Participate in the investigation of accidents/ environmental incidents and follow up to corrective actions are completed.
- Analysis of accident statistics regarding type, frequency and severity and make recommendations as required. Assisting in creating and implementing the Health and Safety Excellence Program.
- Complete risk assessments for any new process or changes to existing processes.
- Act as a Facilitator on the Joint Health and Safety Committee, Departmental Safety teams and the Green team, coordinating meetings.
- Prepare and be able to deliver training modules and information for the Formet Industries Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability Programs.

Overview of the Role

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
- University degree/college diploma in human resources management or a related field;
- CHRP designation is an asset.
- 1 to 3 years of management level experience; ideally in a manufacturing or warehouse environment;
- Working knowledge of human resources and applicable laws and regulations related to benefits, pay and health and safety.
- Experience with HRIS, Workday preferred;
- Be team-oriented while being able to work independently.
