Scope of the Position:

 

Responsible for generating sales with existing customers and developing opportunities with new customers within assigned territory.

 

Major Responsibilities:

 

  • Scheduling appointments and visiting existing customers to review product needs and determining other opportunities.
  • Providing product quotes as required.
  • Organizing and attending joint sales calls with Vendors.

Requirements

 

  • Industry knowledge/experience preferred.
  • 1+ Years sales experience in a similar field
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a Journeyman Plumber Certificate and a Journeyman Gasfitter A. The Gasfitter B will be considered at the 4th year apprentice level. Certificate must be recognized by Government of Alberta Advanced Education and Technology
  • Knowledge of building maintenance procedures, construction methods, and regulatory codes in the Plumbing/Gasfitting trades 
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade and ability to work safely with a variety of power tools 
  • Knowledge and ability to read/interpret blueprints, layout, quantity take offs for ordering of the required materials
  • Experience in the maintenance and service of plumbing, heating, boiler and pool related systems is an asset
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failures 
  • Strong communication and customer service skills (written and verbal) 
  • Commitment to continual learning, teamwork and providing excellent customer service 
  • Ability to work as a member of a team or to work independently

As an Admin Support Clerk, you will be responsible for entering payroll information, supporting the Notification Order process and providing administrative support as required for the Waste Services Branch business operations.

Your success will be measured by your ability to complete orders on time and ensure employees are paid accurately, along with correct data entry.

What will you be doing? 

  • Input payroll data into PeopleSoft system and ensure every employee gets the correct payroll payment each pay period
  • Make any changes to employee hours as requested by their supervisors, ex- Bank Used time, modified duty, medical, vacation, etc.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies with employees, their supervisors, and occasionally with the payroll team in Employee Services
  • Reconcile any differences between employee gang sheets and payroll data in the system including employment status, time entries, pay rate, weekend premiums, shift differentials, override rate, time codes each pay period
  • Update spreadsheets for various areas in Waste Collection Service for tracking of daily tonnages, KPI’s, overtime, and overweight loads

  • Track and monitor notification orders for completion, closing and distributing to Waste Inspectors
  • Receive notification orders from supervisors and contractors for processing and/or distribution
  • Create new sites, update billing changes and enter information into Active List, Database and CIS systems
  • Provide administrative and reception support to the ongoing operations of the business area, including support for Branch and Department staff and general public inquiries via email, phone or in-person
  • Schedule and organize meetings - prepare the boardroom, take minutes, and create agendas
  • Ensure document management, retention, disposition and distribution, adhering to FOIP requirements

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, including business subjects with an emphasis on general office practices, or completion of an office administration certificate

Reporting to the manager of the Professional Standards, Development, and Logistics (PSDL) unit, the Logistics Specialist position will support procurement, lifecycle management, logistics, fleet services and implement continuous improvement initiatives for the Community Standards and Neighbourhood’s branch. 

The Logistics Specialist will contribute to the CSN branch’s goals of creating an efficient, easy to use, and successful equipment management system in collaboration with contract administrators, operational contract managers, and with the direction from the PSDL manager.

With a focus on the City of Edmonton’s Cultural Commitments to Safe, Helpful, Accountable, Integrated and Excellent, you will:

  • Liaise and consult with business partners in assigned portfolios to proactively plan ahead for anticipated procurement activities
  • Provide multifaceted advice to internal branch business partners on procurement procedures, methods, and approaches (which includes procurement principles and practices, trade agreements, and contract/tender law)
  • Assist with budget preparation and expenditure control, both operating and capital, and oversees Branch’s equipment projects
  • Develop processes and practices that support the continuous improvement of the branch’s PCM and logistics functions. This includes the branch coordination, acquisition, modification, and maintenance of the branch’s specialized equipment, uniforms and fleet for law enforcement services, peace officers and bylaw officers
  • Ensure that the City's operational needs are met with regards to the governance, compliance and process requirements according to all City administrative policies and procedures
  • Consult or work in a collaborative team environment with other subject matter experts and City departments
  • Review and/or develop specifications, requirements, description and scope of work, and recommend improvements of equipment and fleet to internal business partners

  • Review and ensure completeness and accuracy of a variety of contract and Purchase Order documentation and approves within delegated concurrence or forwards to more senior concurrence and/or delegated authority, as required

Qualifications

  • Completion of a University Degree (Bachelor’s or higher), in a related discipline such as public administration, public policy, supply chain management, business,
    or project management and four (4) years of relevant full-time work experience, which include a minimum of three (3) years in a procurement environment

A Labourer II in Infrastructure Maintenance is a semi-skilled manual labour position. Tasks of this nature involve the use of some acquired skills.   • Travel to various job sites in relation to a predetermined schedule

The Corporate Accounts Receivable (AR) team is responsible for the delivery of internal and external billings for goods and/or services provided by the City.

The primary purpose of the Accounting Assistant I - Corporate Billings includes processing and generating customer invoices and payment reminders, managing customer account reconciliations and generating accounting reports.

This position is required to provide excellent customer service on behalf of the departments within the City of Edmonton in accordance with defined policy and procedure.

  • Process Corporate billings, Fleet billings and Sales & distribution (S&D) invoicing for various services and/or goods provided by the City through Billing advice request, pass-offs, uploads, S&D and M5 billing simulations
  • Manage a portfolio of assigned customer accounts. i.e. Rent, Leases, various Transportation portfolio, Transit, Fleet Billings etc. 
  • Check, review, validate and enter information submitted, ensuring adequacy of supporting documents for completeness and accuracy as well as compliance with business process requirements and accounting distribution. i.e. Cost Centres, Work orders, Net Work Activity (NWA) and internal orders
  • Generate corporate daily invoices and payment reminders; mail out and electronic invoicing
  • Ensure application of accounting principles and practices in the maintenance and updating of accounts receivable records
  • Perform periodic AR customer process timely account reconciliation and General Ledger reconciliations, for daily, weekly and month-end clearing and transfers as needed to record transactions to a customer account to ensure its collectability and minimize bad debts
  • Check, review and process refunds to customers on over payments and clear over and under small balances
  • Review and analyze customer accounts and respond to customer inquiries over the phone or in written form by email or letter and resolve disputed invoices
  • Reconcile General Ledger Accounts related to AR such as 204000 auto post accounts, cash suspense clearing and Warranty account 201180
  • Interpret and apply instructions and guidelines to resolve AR billings work related issues
  • Maintain good public relations in the performance of Accounts Receivable duties by being courteous and make decisions within established policies and procedures
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A recognized accounting certificate
  • One (1) year of experience in an office environment
  • Demonstrated competency in the use of spreadsheet and word processing applications
  • Knowledge of corporate and departmental policies, procedures, bylaws and processes in the performance of accounts receivable duties
  • Knowledge and understanding of provincial and federal legislation regarding the accounts receivable duties
  • Competency in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel, and Google applications & other financial software (i.e. SAP AR module)
  • Basic knowledge of accounting, administrative procedures and regulations including GAAP, FOIP and GST
