Role
Reporting to the IM Programs Manager and as a member of a support team, the Information Analyst supports the provision of information management (IM) advice, guidance, and direction to client ministries. This position has a key role in gathering information that will be used to support recommendations, strategies and approaches to enhance the implementation of the IM Program within one or more departments. The Information Analyst plans and collects information related to the delivery of IM services and participates in the identification/creation of IM solutions to support specific business activities, processes, and requirements.
This position also supports IM Programs strategic projects that are designed to enhance the centralized IM Program services to ensure that all services are client centered, coordinated, and optimized. Work may also include supporting the review and risk assessments associated with Technology development projects, and supporting the roll-out of tools and procedures to ensure IM risks are identified and minimized.
To be effective, the Information Analyst must understand where to find various legislation and policy instruments and understand where to identify what solutions are available to assist clients with their solutions. The role reviews solutions to ensure they are client focused and will be effective in meeting both end users need and be compliant with existing policy instrument. This will ensure that the Government of Alberta understands and minimizes Information Management risks and leverages information to it's fullest potential.
Responsibilities encompass the analysis and implementation phases for a broad variety of IM initiatives including:
- Completing reviews and collection of IM requirements and practices;
- Understanding current business processes and procedures;
- Supporting clients in understanding IM risks related to current business activities; and
- Supporting the roll-out of tools and procedures to minimize the IM risks that exist.

- Perform manual swamper duties (including heavy lifting/pushing) associated with maneuvering full waste/recycling bins and carts to staging locations for collection
- Adhere to safety and environmental regulations and work procedures
- Maintain a positive customer service attitude in the performance of all duties

Work Environment:

Conditions of Employment:

Here, your primary responsibilities are to act as a support role for EFRS payroll administration. This position processes payroll transactions accurately and in a timely fashion for more than 1,000 staff. This position requires a highly organized, analytical and self-motivated Clerk that performs assignments with a high degree of independence.

- Provide processing of all payroll transactions including auditing and processing time entries daily
- Conduct daily audit on all of the payroll transactions and correlate them with the Platoon Chief shift sheet
- Adjust hours for all sick, WCB and LTD modified workers and update improper payroll transactions based on audit results
- Answer daily e-mail and phone calls from the staff, Employee Service Supervisors, Disability Management Consultants (DMCs) and other stakeholders regarding payroll transactions
- Provide information to DMC for updates regarding sick, LTD, WCB or modified work by e-mail or phone
- Run Audit Report, WCB Audit Report, Vacation Audit Report, Sick Audit Report and other related reports to audit operator payroll hours and correct improper payroll transactions
- Analyze Final Audit Report to verify all personnel are paid correctly and fix any errors
- Fulfill stationary and lost damage requests for all Fire Stations within the City of Edmonton via Email requests and SAP
- Perform other related duties
Qualifications
- Completion of the twelfth (12) school grade including subjects related to business, statistics, and information processing
- A minimum of three years of progressively responsible in payroll, synthesizing and analyzing data or information processing experience
- Certification by the Canadian Payroll Association as Payroll Compliance Practitioner (Asset)
- High level of attention to detail with strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, multitasking and organizational skills
- Proficient in Google G Suite,Peoplesoft, Telestaff
- Highly developed customer service and telephone communication skills
- Ability to make arithmetical calculations rapidly and accurately
- Ability to accurately enter data
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
