Duties & Responsibilities

  • Cleans interior and exterior of Transit vehicles, buildings, facilities, and equipment.
  • Performs routine maintenance tasks on civic buildings, grounds, facilities, and equipment.
  • Fuels and services Transit vehicles, including checking fluids, changing tires, and minor adjustments.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s Licence.  Must pass the written air brake test within one week after the date of hire and obtain the air brake endorsement within one month after the date of hire.
  • Current driver's abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
  • Possession of a valid class 1A Driver’s Licence would be considered an asset
  • Successful and efficient completion of the assigned training in accordance with Transit maintenance procedures and practices.

    • CPR Level C
    • Red Cross Standard First Aid or Aquatic Emergency Care Award; and
    • Lifesaving Instructor Certification is considered an asset.
    • Six month's related experience instructing and as a lifeguard preferred.

  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, peers, supervisor, and the public.
