Job Details

Working under general supervision, a Material Handler moves material to various areas inside and outside the facility using powered forklift truck (counter balance or reach forklifts). Material Handlers supporting receiving of material and shopping of finished goods (mobile elevated work platforms).  

 

Performance Expectations 

Load, unload and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment 

Perform other material handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing and unpacking. 

Operate winches and other loading devices to load and unload materials onto and off trucks. 

Operate a tow motor in a safe manner, both loading and unloading freight. 

Perform tow motor inspection. 

Keep all manufacturing and shipping/receiving areas organized. 

Empty chip bins into proper containers.  

Complete all shipping and receiving documentation. 

Organize, collect and ship finished mobile elevated work platforms as per customer requirements  

May perform other activities, such as opening containers and crates, filling warehouse orders, assisting in taking inventory and weighing and checking materials. 

Perform other duties/projects as assigned.  

 

Credentials 

Some completion of high school  

Licensed to operate a tow motor (forklift).  Class 2, 3 and 4 required.  

Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) training required (for specific Material Handler positions). 

 

Desired Characteristics 

Measure length, width and height of a truck trailer and length, width and height of filled pallets to find out how many pallets of products can fit in trailer. Estimate weight of products on pallets to decide whether they can be lifted by forklift. 

Communicate with suppliers to confirm details, such as purchase order numbers. Interact with co-workers to co-ordinate tasks and to discuss how to move heavy objects. Interact with supervisors to discuss problems, such as damaged shipments or shortages in orders. 

Refer to assembly drawings to perform minor machine repairs or to assemble pieces. Refer to schematic drawings, such as air brake system for a truck. 

Receive assignments from supervisors at beginning of each shift and plan how best to sequence tasks to meet deadlines. Adjust plans as needed if new loads arrive from suppliers sooner than expected. 

Ability to work with a partner and independently as needed. Use a team approach to get materials ready so that they may be moved out efficiently.

Performance Expectations

  • Regular review of all processes and operator instructions for assigned customers to ensure accuracy and conformance to actual procedures.
  • Collect data and develop statistics to describe equipment and system functionality.
  • Estimate durations of development, fabrication, construction and repair tasks.
  • Define which materials and equipment to use for projects and select appropriate codes.
  • Complete work order and change work order forms to notify key parties about projects.
  • Assume project management roles to co-ordinate the involvement of other engineers, contractors, technicians and suppliers.

Credentials

  • Post-Secondary education in Engineering or Equivalent.
  • Minimum three years of related experience.
  • Knowledge/work experience in machine processes, cutting tools, fixtures, CNC and Special purpose machines.
  • Working knowledge of ISO-TS16949 and ISO 14001, and with mechanical blueprint interpretation including GD and T.
  • Good computer skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with the use of statistical analysis software and computer-assisted design, manufacturing and machining (i.e. AutoCAD, CAD/CAM and SolidWorks).

How You Will Make Contributions That Matter:

  • Conduct Financial Compliance 52-109 audits:

  • Provide periodic updates to Senior Manager, Internal Audit on the status of assigned work.

  • Assist in the performance of Application conversions and upgrade audits:

  • Provide the business advice on design of controls.

  • Support the monitoring of project progress.

  • Complete tests on conversions and project controls.

  • Report on results and provide recommendations for improvement.

  • Assist in supporting external audit reliance requirements:

  • As required, provide results and working papers.

  • Act as a first response for questions on controls.

  • Participate in advisory mandates providing recommendations on control design or operation to help improve efficiency and effectiveness of the control environment.

  • Support Senior Manager, Internal Audit with various ad-hoc and special requests from Management, and the Audit Committee related to governance, risk, and controls.

As part of their duties, the incumbent will have to communicate and collaborate in English, both orally and in writing with colleagues or other stakeholders in Quebec as well as in the rest of Canada or in North America. 

 

You Are Best Suited for The Role If You Have the Following Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or in a related field.

  • Professional designation, or in process of completion (CPA CA, CIA, CFE or equivalent).

  • 2-4 years minimum of experience in audit; internal audit and financial compliance experience is a plus.

  • Provide clear, concise information to others via verbal or written communication in both English and French, Spanish is a plus.

  • Understands Internal Audit’s purpose and role within the organization.

  • Must understand generally accepted auditing standards, common audit procedures and techniques and risk management frameworks; general knowledge of other relevant business domain/ industry standards a plus.

  • General knowledge of the purposes and concepts of accounting standards: IFRS, COSO, NI 52-109 Certification.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, basic experience in data analytics techniques and tools such as Power BI is a plus.

  • Knowledge of the basic concepts of an ERP system; knowledge of SAP applications is a plus.

  • Acts as an ethical, proactive, and objective professional.

  • Use a collaborative and inclusive approach with individuals and teams, engaging others with warmth, sincerity, and transparency.

  • Accepts personal responsibility for delivering results, able to manage and prioritize workload in a constantly changing environment, ensuring quality of work while meeting deadlines.

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Inventory Coordinator works within Coke Canada warehouses, managing and controlling inventory and working through process improvement as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily warehouse inventory maintenance and reconciliation.
  • Review Inventory Variance Reports daily and work with Inventory Analyst to identify and resolve issues
  • Count all full goods in the warehouse on a daily basis, and reconcile against SAP inventory levels. Research and reconcile daily inventory variances.
  • Reconcile the daily, monthly, and annual inventory to the SAP computer system.
  • Proper Documentation to support all audit activity (Internal Control Audits and Independent Counts
  • Identify and report close dated product.
  • Assist in managing, conducting, documenting and reporting on inventory audits.
  • Identify and communicate common control opportunities to Manager.
  • Analyze and identify areas where Internal Controls can be improved or implemented at an appropriate cost/benefit relationship.
  • Become Subject Matter Expert on field level inventory Internal Controls in accordance with the Controls Policy and Procedures Manual.
  • Perform individualized facility training on policies, procedures and controls.
  • Assist with the training and remediation of all internal control issues that are identified.
  • Assist with annual independent inventory schedule for independent inventory counts of Full Goods.
  • Assist in standardizing and ensuring adherence to financial and operational control policies and procedures.
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned by the Department Manager

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance, or Equivalent Business Experience
  • 1+ years’ experience in Manufacturing, or Distribution and Warehouse Operations, Finance or Accounting, or Audit Experience preferred.
  • Supervisory experience (asset)
