Your Opportunity:

Safety Ambassador communicates safety protocols for the site. As an Alberta Health Service’s (AHS) Safety Ambassador, you will be educating patients, staff and visitors on AHS policies and expectations relating to visitation, orderly conduct, and other safety-related matters. You, the Safety Ambassador, are expected to identify potential risks, including complex, violent or aggressive/disturbing behaviours, and if unable to de-escalate verbally, will be accountable for contacting Protective Services or the Police of Jurisdiction for a response. You will also assist stakeholders in maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors based on relevant and applicable Emergency Response Procedures. Success in this role will require strong communication and interpersonal skills, and you may be required to make quick decisions based on fluid and dynamic situations. You will be expected to effectively utilize a hand-held radio or similar communication device. Your interactions may include the completion of formal documentation such as incident reports or witness statements. As the Safety Ambassador, you may be required to stand for prolonged periods or move throughout the facility. Selected candidates will be required to complete the mandatory AHS Tactical Communications Course to obtain employment in this role.

Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular, Full-Time Logistics Attendant to join our dynamic Supply Chain Operations West Team.

The Supply Chain Operations West team is responsible for supporting Canadian Blood Services by providing technical assistance and maintaining the laboratory, all laboratory equipment and test instruments.  In this role, you will be working on the frontlines, assisting in the delivery of products, processes and services that provide life-saving treatments for Canadians. 

Formula for success:  

• Applying your incredible attention to detail, you will verify shipping and receiving of products / resolves discrepancies with buyers efficiently; you will also be responsible for the daily documentation for resupply of fridges / freezers and monthly cleaning, and performing physical inventory counts / stock rotation as per expiry dates / product recall. 
• Using your amazing organizational skills, you will organize and maintain warehouse and dock area for efficiency / cleanliness, as well as maintain documentation of critical supplies batch numbers / quantities received.
• With your commitment to safety and quality, you will ensure Preventative Maintenance / replacement (of faulty) Equipment / Callibration (as required), as well as ensure the proper handling / accurate accounting of biohazard containers for off-site removal and destruction.
• Performs other related duties as required.
   

Desired education and skills:

• Grade 12 plus one year’s recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
