Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 5+ years of proven experience as a DevOps, Site Reliability Engineer, or similar role.

  • Proficiency in languages such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, etc.

  • Strong Linux skills, including command-line tools, shell scripting, and system diagnostics.

  • Familiarity with fundamental DevOps tools like SSH, Git, and Makefiles.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

  • Provide leadership and direction to Operators on the line with particular focus on blending, formulation, CCPs, and documentation.
  • Provide guidance on product SOPs and steps in formulating product blends while maintaining traceability and proper documentation of lot codes and batches in SAP.
  • Conduct CCP and/or Prerequisite Program training including verification of training effectiveness. This includes training related to implementation of new programs and corrective actions related to deviations.
  • Immediately address deviations to FSQA procedures by coaching and re-training.
  • Support the investigation of customer and consumer complaints including documentation of findings and drafting responses as appropriate.
  • Write and revise FSQA SOPs including maintenance of the product SOPs, FSQA SOPs and electronic directories.
  • Maintain and deliver GMP Training and CCP presentations as a member of the plant new hire orientation program.
  • Conduct HACCP reassessment, monitoring, and verification to meet regulatory requirements including updates to forms, documents, and programs as required.
  • As a member of the cross-functional team, investigate, document (In SAP Non-conformance system) and establish/implement appropriate corrective action to address deviations related to all programs with specific focus on foreign material and quality critical non-conformances.
  • Maintain hold and release databases - internal and SAP. 
  • In-depth analysis of CTQ (Critical to Quality) data as collected in SAP including tracking and trending for interpretation and development of actions to address deviations.
  • Support all aspects of audit preparation and execution including documentation, preparation, program review, on-site inspection, training and other duties as required.
  • Collect samples and conduct raw material sensory assessment and communicate results to Operations.
  • Perform other SAP functions as required such as hold/release program, inspection lot oversight, usage decisions, etc.
  • Provide support to hourly Production Operators in delivery of FSQA procedures.
  • Participate in Period review, Town Hall meetings, other communication sessions.
  • Assist CFIA inspectors with CVS tasks or other support as requested.
  • Participate in Six Sigma projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor of Science or College Diploma in Food Safety/Science program or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years previous experience in a technical food manufacturing role is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Pre-requisite Programs, HACCP, CCP’s and GMPs related to the food industry.

  • Work with Sr. Manager, FSQA & Regulatory Compliance to conduct mock recall, risk assessment and gap analysis activities.

  • Recommend organizational process improvement initiatives based on identified trends and key performance metrics.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for all training related to employee onboarding and retraining, and ensure that all relevant training is completed.
  • Assist with internal, CFIA, and third-party audits and inspection.
  • Attend team meetings, and assist in complaint investigations and other tasks as assigned by the FSQA Manager.
  • Work in compliance with OH&S acts and regulations.
  • Use personal protective and safety equipment and clothing as directed by the employer and report workplace hazards and dangers to the supervisor or employer.

At a minimum, you have: 

  • 2+ years in a food safety or quality assurance role in the food or other regulated industry.
  • Post-secondary education in Biological or Food Sciences, or equivalent work experience (at least 2 years) in a similar role.
  • In depth knowledge of food safety systems and HACCP principles.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining HACCP  and Preventive Control Plans.
  • Familiarity with the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations.
  • Internal and external audit experience (CFIA, BRC etc.) an asset.
  • Excellent organization, communication and time management skills
  • Familiar with MS Office, Google Apps and comfortable learning and using new technology.
  • Comfortable working in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible with working hours for business requirements, including occasional early morning and late-night shifts.

Your Role

As the Warehouse Supervisor, you are fully responsible for the safe, high-quality, and productive delivery of 3PL logistics services to our internal and external customers. Main responsibilities for this role include the following and are related to customer relationships, financial accountabilities, and people management. You will report to the Warehouse Manager.

Your Responsibilities

  • There will be the opportunity to extend contract to one year.
  • Escalate customer issues to Manager quickly when necessary;
  • Assist with planning for new customer implementations;
  • Participate in conference calls and meetings when necessary. Demonstrate tact and diplomacy when communicating directly with customer representatives;
  • Support Warehouse Manager in adhering to financial obligations:
    Balancing overtime / agency use;
  • Staff planning to avoid excess overtime expenses;
  • Ensure timely performance evaluations;
  • Deal with performance issues and consult with HR / Management guidance for complex issues;
  • Follow programs implemented to ensure the efficient and cost-effective operation and utilization of the facility;
  • Oversee all warehouse services including receiving, storing, shipping, handling returned/damaged goods, maintenance, and administrative activities to ensure customer requirements are met in an efficient manner;
  • Comply with all Quality, Health, Safety & Security programs to ensure the safety of all personnel, equipment and property
  • Strive for continuous improvements in all facets of warehouse operations
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports regarding warehouse operations
  • In collaboration with Warehouse Manager, keep warehouse supplies stocked and re-order when needed using cost-saving methods when available

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Diploma/Degree in International Business, Transportation, Logistics, or a related field preferred
  • 3+ years experience in Contract Logistics / 3PL / Distribution Centre / Warehouse environment
  • 2+ years leadership / supervisory experience with 7+ direct reports
  • Bilingual English/French is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of various production and quality systems (GxP, ISO, Document Control, Lean, TPS, Six Sigma, etc.)

  • Conduct remote and in-person usability and user research using a range of methods.
  • Drive inclusiveness in principle and practice.
  • Conduct usability testing to ensure that our products work for everyone.
  • Participate in project kickoffs, design critiques and ideation sessions. Use these and other opportunities to
  • share findings and insights from research, and share key feedback from users.
  • Incorporate a “continuous discovery” approach to informing and guiding product design and development.
  • Work with project teams to help determine research needs, identify the most appropriate methods, create
  • protocols and plans, generate recruitment screeners, moderate sessions, analyze results, compile reports,
  • and present findings.
  • Design and execute studies that address both user behavior and attitudes, using the right methodology for
  • the right questions
  • Generate insights that fuel ideation
  • Evaluate designs through testing, reviews, and critiques
  • Conduct research using a range of qualitative methods
  • Work cross-functionally with design, product management, data science, content strategy, engineering and
  • marketing
  • Support other researchers on the team.
  • Advocate for the people who use our products
  • Contribute to the conversation around best practices around how to build the best software for customers

 

 


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Research experience in a product development or service design context
  • Hands-on experience gathering requirements, prioritizing, planning research, identifying and recruiting the perfect
  • participants, gathering data, analyzing & summarizing results, and sharing findings
  • Comfort making design recommendations based on research and best practices
  • Familiarity with combining qualitative and quantitative data
  • A desire to continually experiment with and develop new methods 
  • Examples of how you influenced teams or companies to become more people-centred
  • A love of asking questions, seeking answers, and working with others to solve difficult design problems
  • Hands-on experience with Adobe Analytics or Google Analytics, and using these tools to add insight to research
  • studies
  • Spoken at conferences or written about research, UX, design, or strategy
  • Experience measuring or demonstrating the impact of research and design (ROI)
  • Taught research methods in any context
  • Explored non-traditional recruitment pools for research
  • Experience using empathy labs in a UX research context
