What is the Opportunity?

As the Administrative Assistant, you will play a critical role by providing direct support to both the Managing Director and Director, Relationship Management at RBCx. RBCx is a full-service platform to accelerate the entrepreneurial journey at every stage of growth – providing access to capital solutions, innovative products and services, and operational expertise to help technology companies’ scale. You will be accountable for managing schedules, departmental events and executive correspondence to ensure the effectiveness of the executive leadership team. In addition, you will liaise with RBC Leadership and business partners on behalf of the Directors, follow-up on action items, maintain calendars, coordinate travel arrangements, maintain and organize files, prepare correspondence and other presentation materials, and prepare / act as a pre-verification officer for department expense reports.

 

What will you do?

  • Provide executive administrative assistance in support of the senior executive maintaining a high degree of confidentiality and accuracy within a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

  • Assist as the primary liaison for the senior executive, with senior internal and external stakeholders.

  • Coordinate and maintain senior executive’s correspondence, calendar, and reporting, responding and prioritizing as appropriate and with discretion.

  • Proactively manage complex travel arrangements/itinerary; ensuring seamless travel and efficient use of budgeting and resources.

  • Coordinate and provide support for internal and external event planning such as offsite sessions, communication & roundtable sessions, Town Halls & Coffee chats

  • Manage the senior executive/leadership team’s supplier relations, maintain records and business expenses, and ensure invoices and bills are promptly paid; prepare and approve expenses according to delegated authorities.

  • Coordinate all aspects of logistical organization of conferences/meetings. Develop agendas, materials and routines, including action items and follow-ups. Provide post-event support as needed.

  • Coordinate arrangements for employee changes and onboarding plans for new hires, including equipment and premises requirements and ensuring adherence policies and procedures.

  • Support the Director’s monthly portfolio quality reviews by gathering relevant reports and commentary from VP’s on outstanding items.

 

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • 5+ years of Executive or Administrative support experience supporting senior leadership.

  • Superior organizational skills specifically around calendar management, scheduling, ability to organize, plan, and schedule activities.

  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills in working effectively with various levels of staff, including senior management and executives; ability to work as a team member.

  • Sound judgement in decision making; strong problem solving skills and resourceful in working with others and representing the office of the senior executive.

  • Anticipate the needs of the senior executive and flag questions or opportunities before issues arise.

  • Demonstrate initiative, positive and helpful attitude when dealing with others in a professional manner.

  • High proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook); Intranet and Internet navigating and research skills.

What would you do?

Technical Analysis and Consulting

  • As an Integration Developer focus on building integration solutions ensuring successful deployment using various integration product technologies/tools and services.

  • As an integration developer build strong, sustainable relationships with the business and functional team, by joining them in workshops to elicit their needs and understand their wants which meets the business requirements.

  • Identifies technical issues and risks and defines mitigation approaches working closely with delivery and operations teams.

  • Works with impacted/dependent groups to coordinate integration across systems.

  • Collaborates with all team members to ensure specialty skills and capabilities are effectively used to implement solutions and that integration knowledge is shared across the team.

  • Participate in detailed design sessions for identifying, tracking and resolving issues related to integration design/build.

  • Ability to understand integration interdependency and mitigate issues arising due to those dependencies.

  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and new functionalities in areas related to the Workday integration and other domains.

Planning, Implementation & Support

  • Get actively involved in Global Design Workshops to proactively raise concerns or provide input whenever needed.

  • As an Integration Developer help manage the integration deliverables associated with the HCM project & Workday Implementation.

  • Work with the internal IT teams to gather enterprise level requirements for integrations. (e.g., integration delivery and retrieval mechanism as per the enterprise standards, Public & Private Key Management, etc.,)

  • Work closely with the QA team to help them understand the integration design, architecture and functionalities while managing the testing use cases.    

  • You’ll understand where blockers form and you’ll track issues and risks, working with the PMO and other team members to mitigate them

  • Act as a Workday champion in delivering change and rolling out new features to the local teams.

  • Participate and provide feedback on project implementation plans and support requirements.

  • Collaborate with the payroll team for issue resolution, testing, deployment and ongoing payroll support.

  • Vendor management skills, know how to involve appropriate party.

  • Demonstrate ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks at a time.

The Role

This role is part of a strategic and comprehensive IT Risk Management Function within Technology Control Testing and ensures control testing execution and reporting in accordance with regulatory expectations, risk appetite, organizational risk practices and evolving business practices. The role includes significant coordination and engagement with peers across all business lines and technology functions. This includes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd lines of defense for Technology in the execution of risk management activities, inclusive of regular updates, formal reporting and managing remediation commitments identified (e.g. audit findings).

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. 
  • Assist Risk Owners in adhering to policies, frameworks, standards and guidelines through active engagement and guidance.
  • Act as a primary liaison between the risk owners and other risk groups to lead the facilitation and execution of risk management activities.
  • Test design and operating effectiveness attributes for technology controls
  • Conduct IT General controls and automated control walkthroughs and assesses controls for effectiveness.
  • Identify, assess, prioritize, and report on significant IT risks for IT and aligned business areas. This will require working with equivalent Risk Advisors in various business areas.
  • Ensure findings are entered into the enterprise Global Issue Management system and in full compliance of all policies and common standards, including the IT Risk Management Policy and Framework.
  • Support development of monitoring tools to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of the key controls in the Business. Monitoring will include reviewing key indicators, sample testing and conducting thematic reviews.
  • Assist documentation and monitoring the progress of remedial actions for issues identified through Technology Control testing and by others, including Internal Audit, Compliance, regulators, and management self-identified issues.
  • Collaborate with IT Risk Senior Managers for other business units to improve risk management practices across the enterprise.
  • Support ad-hoc, special, and/or focused reviews as necessary, as well as other duties and projects as assigned.

 

What you’ll bring to succeed

Education / Experience

  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, cloud security, and IT processes
  • Requires an undergraduate degree combined with an Information Security professional designation such as CISM, CISA, CCSP, CISSP or CRISC are desirable.
  • Experience with the following is recommended: NIST, ISO27001, COBIT, CIS frameworks. Exposure to SOX requirements
  • Need experience in a wide area of risk controls such as vendor risk, application risk, infrastructure risk, application risk.
  • Reporting skills to prepare status of IT control framework to senior management.
  • Experience in other risk management or IT Audit roles (across any line of defense) is desirable.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish is preferred but not required

 

Soft Skills 

  • Effective communication, facilitation, and presentation skills for developing communication strategies for Executive approval through to implementation of strategies and programs.
  • Ability to balance competing or conflicting goals of various departments and stakeholders which requires a mature, diplomatic approach and advanced negotiation and influencing skills.

  • Park and organize equipment in the yard.

  • Seal trailers and verify required.

  • Moving and handling large and cumbersome freight in a dock environment (50-75 lbs) 
  • Report any incidents of safety violation or security breaches. 
  • Other related duties as may be required. 

Your Skills and Experience:   

  • Previous Transportation or operational experience is preferred (City Driving or Shunting); at least 1-year experience driving a shunt truck is preferred.  
  • Class 1 license preferred but not necessary with applicable experience. 
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. 
  • Self-motivated. 
  • Safety-minded. 
  • Communication skills – good. 
  • Able to work deadlines in high transactional environment. 
  • Ability to champion business needs in a collaborative manner to colleagues.

What you will be doing:
The Senior Manager, Business Development is responsible for supporting the roll-out of the International Wealth Management (IWM) strategy across the footprint. The incumbent reports to the Director of Country Relationships and Business Excellence, supporting core strategy functions, providing analysis and articulation of the IWM strategy, and delivering forward-thinking insights related to potential changes and disruption impacting IWM value proposition and competitive positioning.

IWM growth initiatives

  • Prepare initiative roadmaps to ensure deliverables and timelines are met & create financial models to assess future state financial benefits / costs
  • Manage multiple project workstreams, including leading problem-solving sessions, workshops and interviews with cross-functional team members and subject matter experts
  • Provides analytic support in decision-making of business initiatives and develop materials for executive discussions
  • Refresh strategy and roadmap as the industry evolves and work with internal and external stakeholders to execute initiatives
  • Support identification and due diligence of acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic alliances
  • Collaborate with the Advisor & Client Solutions team to transition strategic plans into execution
  • Formulate with the Analytics and Business Intelligence teams the KPIs related to the strategic initiatives roll-out to ensure the business remains on track with estimated benefits
  • Support the development of IWM governance model to track the roll-out of the strategy, ensuring the adequacy, and adherence to business controls and regulatory obligations

 

Business Planning & monitoring

  • Articulate with internal and external partners, and IWM leadership, the 3-5 years strategic for IWM
  • Collaborate with Finance, PMO and other relevant stakeholders to support the planning cycle for IWM including Profit planning, SIP process, Head Office budget & allocations
  • Perform strategic and business analysis, identifying key issues and pro posing recommendations for IWM’s strategy at the market and business line level
  • Support business/markets with necessary data in the assessment of initiatives & business cases
  • Assist with strategy offsites for leadership to facilitate ongoing discussions around IWM strategy
  • Prepare materials to gain buy-in and understanding of IWM strategic objectives
  • Work with management team to communicate complex strategic and financial concepts in easy -to understand presentations
  • Prepare information for Business Reviews, GWM Executive Meetings, Country Leadership Meeting, Executive Team meetings and adhoc sessions as required

 

Industry and customer knowledge

  • Complete competitive / business environment research and benchmarking to determine emerging issues and trends and analyze the impact/implications of those trends on IWM
  • Develop and maintain an in depth understanding of the Wealth Management industry including customer needs and trends; the regulatory environment; competitive dynamics and best practices; technology changes, and economics
  • Assess how changes in the business will impact IWM’s strategic plans and work with Senior Management, to make required adjustments.
  • Inform business investments prioritization that will position the business for future growth

 

Analytics

  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across markets and business lines to develop client insights
  • Use of various tools and techniques to extract insights from data to improve client penetration and acquisition
  • Use data and models to analyze business performance and inform decision-making • Identify client opportunities and profitability across Brokerage, Private Banking, Asset Management, Offshore and Trust 
  • Leverage internal and external data to generate new business insights helping the management team identify historical and future trends in international wealth management 
  • Develop partnerships with in-country data teams to leverage additional data sources Leadership 
  • Champions a high-performance team, actively seeks development opportunities, and contributes to an inclusive work environment

 

Do you have the skills to enable you to be successful in this role? We would love to work with you if you have:

  • Completed undergraduate degree in business or economics is required; an MBA is strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of working experience, preferably in Wealth Management, Strategy, or consulting
  • Experience in Strategy development and execution
  • roficiency in PowerPoint, ThinkCell and Excel
  • Fluency in Spanish is an asset
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong attention to details
  • Ability to communicate strategic and financial concepts through presentations
  • Proven track record managing multiple priorities with competing deadlines and dealing with certain levels of ambiguity

JOB SUMMARY


Transit Operations provides safe, reliable and courteous transit services and excellence in customer service delivery to 100 million transit customers per year, by means of conventional bus, para transit and rail operations. The Transit Special Constable Unit manages the Special Constable and Fare Enforcement Programs, Transit revenue loss and fare enforcement programs, property protection and law enforcement programs, the transit emergency response and preparedness programs, communications equipment/systems, processes and sectional records activities.
 

You are responsible for security and law enforcement duties involving passengers, employees, Transit Services facilities/vehicles/assets and the general public.
 

You execute the duties of a Sworn Special Constable/Peace Officer, agent and occupier of City of Ottawa Transit Services*, in accordance with:

  • Federal/Provincial/Municipal laws
  • Special Constable contract with the Ottawa Police Services Board
  • Rules and regulations governing a Special Constable appointment (as amended from time to time)
  • Corporate/Branch/Division policies and standards
  • Corporate/Branch Code of Ethics, Core Values and Mission Statement, that is consistent and compatible with Ottawa Police Service policies and standards

 

*The Police Services Board grants an Officer’s Special Constable status for Ottawa, with an approval from the Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services, in accordance with the Police Services Act, R.S.O. 1990. Special Constables are Peace Officers as defined in the Criminal Code of Canada.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


Completion of community college Police Foundations or Law and Security Certificate.
 

Minimum of 2 years of security experience in a transit environment.

Related experience in dealing with people and enforcement procedures may be considered as alternate relevant experience.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES

Must obtain and maintain Special Constable designation

KNOWLEDGE

  • Good knowledge of security or law enforcement operations, as well as the duties of a Special Constable with Peace Officer authority, including the use/application of the Criminal Code of Canada, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Trespass to Property Act, Provincial Offences Act, Liquor Licence Act, Safe Streets Act, MFIPPA, as well as related Federal and Provincial Statutes, and Transit By-law
  • City/Branch/Division policies and procedures affecting Transit operations including standard operating procedures and emergency standing orders
  •  Court processes and procedures
  • Investigative and evidence gathering techniques
  • Crowd control and emergency response techniques
  • Dispute resolution techniques
  • Personal and physical security methods
  • Electrical and computerized security equipment
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Language Requirement: Various language requirements. Some positions require English oral, reading, and writing. Some positions required French oral, reading and writing.       
  • Police Record Check: The successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check with the Police Services detachment in their jurisdiction to the City of Ottawa’s satisfaction. Police record checks completed by a third-party company will not be accepted.  
  • Driver’s License Requirement:  A valid Ontario unrestricted G class driver’s license (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerit points accumulated  
  • Meet eligibility requirements for appointment as a Special Constable, which are:
    • Canadian Citizen or permanent resident of Canada
    • Lawfully eligible to work in Canada
    • At least 18 years of age
    • Not been convicted of a criminal offence or been convicted of an offence for which a pardon has been granted.
    • Proof of valid Standard First Aid Certificate and valid CPR-Level C
    • Must learn, meet and maintain Transit Special Constable Services standard in the use of oleoresin capsicum (OC) spray, baton and the use of force continuum
    • Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police Certificate of Results for the Constable Selection System
    • Candidates will be required to undergo physical fitness testing with the Transit Special Constable Recruiters. Candidates will be required to successfully complete the Ontario Police Fitness PIN test.
    • Candidates will also be required to undergo other investigations/checks to include:
      • Fingerprinting
      • Driver's licence history
      • Credit check
      • Background reference check
      • Written MMPI
      • Interview with Psychologist
  • Experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for stipulated academic requirements.
