We are seeking an experienced and client focused professional with a great attitude who is able to work independently and as part of a team. The role is accountable for the effective delivery of screening and primary care nursing services for clients during their Annual Health Assessment, Year-Round Care clinic appointments and other Medcan services.
The Accountabilities:
- Immunization and vaccination education and administration
- Health assessment and teaching on cardiac risk factors, immunizations, and other nursing responsibilities
- Primary Care Nursing procedures such as ear syringing, dressing changes, suture/staple removal, and assisting the Physicians with basic nursing skills

The Requirements:
- Registered Nurse/ Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
- Nursing experience in a primary care environment or acute care setting preferred
- Good understanding of publicly-funded vaccine schedule and travel vaccines is an asset
- Current CPR/BCLS certification
- Superior verbal, written and electronic communication skills
- Experience in travel health, occupational health and pediatric nursing is an asset
- Proficiency in MS Outlook and Word
This is a part-time role scheduled a minimum of 2 shifts per week during business hours Monday through Saturday. The role sits primarily at our Oakville Clinic at 2275 Upper Middle Road East, but requires flexibility to commute to our Toronto Clinic at 150 York St. on an as-needed basis.

JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manager, Rail Systems, the Engineer, Vehicle Systems is responsible to monitor, measure, audit and review the performance of the vehicle maintenance systems; manage the production of quality metrics to measure the soundness of the vehicle system engineering processes; provide a single point of contact for all technical issues and concerns regarding the vehicle fleets; track, trend, and analyse fleet reliability issues for new and existing fleets; oversee and provide direction and comments to fleet expansions; complete technical analysis of rail system failure modes; review and monitor operational requirements; and lead rail capital improvement projects.
In addition, the incumbent will provide technical support and design input during the procurement specification and tender phase of new orders; be responsible for the technical review of design submissions and responses to the RFIs; assist with the tracking and monitoring of vehicle quality issues during the vehicle procurement and maintenance phases; assist with investigations, root cause analysis, and technical reporting writing; assist with investigations in relation to systems operations and interrelated track and signal infrastructure issues; complete root cause analyses for system or sub-system failures/issues; manage the development and delivery of vehicle lifecycle & safety programs; and provide support to Transit Operations during major operational events.
The incumbent will also participate on technical committees and lead project teams to provide engineering expertise to discuss and resolve issues on projects internal and external to the department that may impact the operational requirements of the Transit Services Department
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Four (4) year Bachelor of Applied Science or Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering
Seven (7) years experience in rail vehicle fleet engineering, maintenance and operation, testing and commissioning, overhaul planning, life cycle planning, and reliability improvement programs for new and existing fleets and experience transit and rail control/power control systems, railway integrated control systems and systems integration
Knowledge of rail systems including track, power systems, and signaling systems would be an asset

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate must be able to perform various mechanical, electrical and diagnotic repairs on our diverse fleet of City vehicles and equipment. The City hires Apprentices who will be paid a percentage of the rate paid to Service Technician/Welders depending on level of Apprenticeship.
Duties and Responsibilities
- The successful applicant must be able to perform a variety of preventative maintenance and diversified repairs on the corporate fleet.
- Perform maintenance and repairs to the corporate fleet as set forth by the policy of the Fleet Maintenance Section.
- Complete work assigned on work orders in a timely manner with mandatory consultation with the Supervisor on all items of concern.
- Competently read electrical schematics and use computers to diagnose electrical and electronic system faults.
- Work independently with minimum supervision.
- Must be skilled in the use of all tools and equipment related to the trade.
- Must provide all necessary hand tools to perform required fleet repairs.
- Must stay current with new technologies and equipment to perform repairs
- The successful applicant will be placed on a call-out list and must be willing and available to return to work after normal working hours if called upon.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum Grade 12 education along with valid Certificates of Qualification as a Truck & Coach Technician(310T), and Automotive Service Technician (310S) trade licenses from the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities.
- Technicians holding both 310T and 310S licenses will be remunerated as a Service Technician/Welder as per the collective agreement.
- Technicians holding a 310T will be considered as an Apprentice and remunerated as an Apprentice as per the collective agreement until the 310S is attained.
- Technicians holding a 310S will be considered as an Apprentice and remunerated as an Apprentice as per the collective agreement until the 310T is attained.
- Five (5) years experience actively pursuing the trade as a Licensed Mechanic with four (4) years experience working in a repair facility performing fleet maintenance on a wide variety of diversified off road equipment, light, medium and heavy duty commercial licensed vehicles.
- Additional courses in the mechanic's trade will be an asset.
- Experience in gas and electric (Arc and Mig) welding.
- Familiarity with computerized work orders and time logging.
- Must be able to read electrical schematics and have experience in the use of computers to diagnose electrical and electronic system faults.
- Must be able to work on the corporate fleet under inclement weather conditions from time to time.
- Knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, WHMIS and hazardous goods, and the Ministry of Transportation Highway Traffic Act.
- Natural Gas certificate ICE-NG is an asset.
