About This Opportunity
The Security Specialist is primarily responsible for the maintenance and implementation of physical security programs and equipment of Coke Canada Bottling’s facilities. Located in Montreal and reporting to the Director, Health Safety Security and Environment, the Security Specialist works closely with Security Managers and business partners across all Operating Units to provide guidance and recommendations regarding all aspects of security.
Responsibilities
- Maintain security practices, policies and procedures that ensure compliance with company, regulatory, legal and ethical policies and requirements
- Ensure all security equipment and systems are operating in accordance with operating procedures, equipment is inventoried and escalate all problems/issues to management. Work with Information Technology team where required
- Act as point of contact for maintenance and repair of all security equipment issues and repairs
- Act as point of contact for all security inquiries relating to maintenance and repair of security related equipment, and requests for information from sites
- Provide recommendations on security equipment and design projects working with Security Managers and business partners
- Act as first point of contact for Quebec locations. In consultation with Security Managers conduct investigations and audits for assigned area. Respond and provide support for urgent/emergency situations after normal business hours for assigned area
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent work experience is required, with courses in law enforcement or relevant field preferred
- At least 3 years experience in the corporate security field
- Bilingual in spoken and written French and English
- Experience with implementation, operation and support of electronic access control and surveillance systems
- Knowledge of investigative practices, methods and enforcement strategies
- Familiar with the protocols for collecting, handling, and passing on evidence
- Experience in presenting or delivering presentations, training programs, and communicating findings
- Administrative skills: proficiency with IT tools, Words, Excel, Outlook and ability to complete and create forms, reports, and logs
- Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments concurrently
- Ability to handle sensitive information while maintaining confidentiality
- Strong analytical skills as well as good interview, interrogation and investigation techniques and skills;
- Ability to show initiative, good judgment and resourcefulness

Responsibilities
- Maintain and replenish products in store racks, shelves, displays, and coolers by transporting product between backroom/storage room to front-of-store with manual equipment (pallet jack, hand-truck).
- Build, change or remove product displays while adhering to company standards; maintaining product signage; cleaning product space and securing damaged or defective product.
- Follow all Coke Canada Bottling and Store policies regarding backroom, display floor, replenishment, equipment, and safety.
- Manage backroom by organizing stock (product); identifying, monitoring, and reporting inventory levels; evaluating and processing damaged product; re-packing product; organizing backroom materials (i.e., pallets, product shells etc.); completing any required paperwork.
- Maintain an orderly and clean work area in compliance with Company safety and sanitation requirements.
- Maintain professional relationships with co-workers and customers.
- Physical Requirements:
- Repetitively lift, carry and position product (weight up to 50lbs or 22kgs) above shoulder height without assistance.
- Consistent kneeling, squatting and reaching above the head.
- Ability to push and pull manual and powered equipment (i.e. pallet jack, hand-truck etc.) containing product loads for a minimum of 100 yards without assistance.
- Ability to repetitively grasp and manipulate objects of varying size and weight requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
Qualifications
- Must be 17 years of age.
- Minimum one (1) year experience working in grocery, retail, warehousing or related field preferred.
- Experience working with manual or powered pallet jacks preferred.
- Minimum one (1) year experience working under little to no supervision preferred.
- Must have a personal vehicle for use during working hours
- Must have current vehicle liability insurance.
- A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record with no major violations over the last three (3) years.

Key Accountabilities:
- Provide leadership, knowledge and direction to field staff towards Canadian Natural's Safety Management Systems
- Maximize safe well production and facility throughout by working closely with Production Foreman, Maintenance Foreman, EHS Coordinator, Technical and Administration Teams to maintain runtime performance of > 98% from wellhead to sales
- Participate in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual operating budgets while maintaining cost control for your area
- Provide leadership and supervision to field staff by on-site work planning and day-to-day direction while managing staff performance, spend >80% of time in the field
- Maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
What You Bring to the Role:
- 7+ years of production/field experience in an operations role, with primary focus on natural gas production both sweet and sour (Maintenance trade experience may also be considered)
- Provide planning and economics to projects, T/A and routine Preventative maintenance in the area
- Working knowledge of safety standards, environmental regulations and budget preparation experience
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification preferred
- Skilled communication, coaching and training abilities related to facility equipment, processes and interactions (plant to field and site to site)
- Strong data analysis and computer skills with SCADA, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, Production Tracker, Accumap, PVR

- Read, understand, and apply the latest version of the Security Operation Procedures (SOP), and other bulletins and communications with regards to the roles and responsibilities.
- Write, review and document Shift Activity Report (SAR).
- Conducts screening of all personnel entering or exiting a secure production area.
- Ensure compliance with all required screening procedures and policies.
- Identifies prohibited items and prevents them from being introduced or removed from a secure production area.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Shift Security Supervisor.
- Inquire with persons being screened for feedback on the screening process.
- Perform function checks on walk through metal detector (WTMD) and handheld metal detector (HHMD) at the beginning of each shift.
- Maintain Screening Checkpoints in accordance with the Screening SOP.
- Ensure proper screening procedures and techniques are utilized as per the Screening SOP.
- Interact effectively across diverse cultures.
- Monitor traffic flow of checkpoints and recommend staffing adjustments as necessary.
- Follow proper chain of command and procedures for all matters which require escalation.
- Escalate issue and/or violations to the Shift Security Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Ontario Security License
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Thorough understanding of security protocols and procedures including emergency response.
- 3 years of security experience or a combination of security and customer service experience.
- Eligibility for reliability clearances required.
