Job Description

In this role you will:

  • Work with tools and perform physical labor depending on the nature of the repairs required (i.e. changing lights, minor millwork and plumbing repairs)
  • Respond to emergencies or other work situations beyond regular hours as required, often on short notice.
  • Manage and coordinate vendors and arrange for planned and preventative service as required (i.e. landscaping and snow removal)
  • Work with internal associates and vendors on a daily basis.
  • Coordinate any issues with Property Managers for store maintenance (i.e. HVAC replacements, roof repairs)
  • Contractor sign off on Health and Safety policies for SCC and all WSIB Insurance Certificates in place before work is started
  • Coordinate new store builds with regional sales teams
  • Ensure maintenance expense is within budget
  • Focus on managing multiple maintenance vendors and projects.

 

Qualifications

The Qualifications and Experience we like to see:

  • Completion of a High School Diploma or any post-secondary in property management or maintenance is an asset.
  • 1-2 years of experience in building/janitorial maintenance or a similar role
  • Trade experience (electrical, plumbing etc.) construction experience or property maintenance experience would be an asset
  • Exceptional analytical,  troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, organization, time management skills and ability to prioritize urgent situations in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to communicate with many levels of the organization as well as external vendors
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Valid Province of Quebec, Class "5" Driver's License
  • Ability to travel to various locations in Quebec.
  • Fully Fluent both written and verbal in French and English

  • Responsible for the monthly reconciliation of the City’s bank accounts. This often requires coordination with other departments.
  • Responsible for the preparation, analysis and the timely and accurate entry of the City’s financial information into the General Ledger. Ensure that journal entries are accurate and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) as well as the City’s policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and analyze annual Financial Statements and Financial Information Return schedules to be used by internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and analyze various monthly, quarterly and annual reports for all City funds. Reports must be accurate and timely as they are distributed to all levels of management.
  • Provide information for Statistics Canada Quarterly Surveys. Compile and analyze Annual Statistics Canada Report.
  • Analyze monthly balance sheet accounts. Obtain backup, investigate issues and take necessary corrective action.  Analysis requires communication with various departments as well as third parties.
  • Responsible for chart field maintenance in the PeopleSoft General Ledger and Project Costing modules.
  • Prepare monthly and annual government statutory remittances including but not limited to the Employer Health Tax (EHT) and Harmonized Sales Tax (HST).
  • Review A/P Payment Requisitions, Purchase Orders and Invoices for correct coding and asset classification.
  • In conjunction with Payroll, process payroll journals via the PeopleSoft Financial and HRMS system interface.
  • Process monthly employee Meal and Mileage Allowances.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of employee and external vendors in the PeopleSoft Financial system.
  • Responsible for the administration of the City’s travel request and reimbursement process while ensuring the adherence of the corporate policies and guidelines.
  • Process financial transactions for internal and external investments in the General Ledger and analyze related balance sheet accounts.
  • Responsible for the creation of project id’s and set up project information in the PeopleSoft Project Costing module.
  • Capital Budget analysis and upload.
  • Generate reports on asset cost and depreciation. Provide all ad hoc reports related to tangible capital assets. 
  • Process and analyze asset inventory information submitted by operating departments.
  • Analyze project costs to determine the correct accounting treatment.
  • Provide input on policies and business procedures related to Tangible Capital Asset accounting.
  • Provide ongoing training to operating departments on Tangible Capital Asset financial policies and procedures through formal training sessions.
  • Prepare accounting data for year-end Tangible Capital Asset schedules. Will be required to  take corrective action when required.
  • Performs additional similar and related duties as assigned.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • High School (Grade 12) graduation plus an additional program of three to four years in Economics, Finance or equivalent.
  • Over two (2) years, up to and including four (4) years of related experience.
  • Completion of CPA (Chartered Professional Accountant) PREP or 4th level CGA (Certified General Accountant) or completion of all eligibility required topics for CMA (Certified Management Accountant) entrance examination or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of PeopleSoft Accounts Payable, Purchasing, General Ledger, Asset Management and Project Costing modules and PSAB/GAAP.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite applications.

What’s the job?

 

On any given shift you will be the face of Coast Capital in the branch and balance a friendly advice and service approach with demonstrated ability to proactively listen and identify opportunities to deepen member relationships. By providing our members with support and financial advice, we help them Build a Better Future, Together. While this job is posted as a Customer Service Representative, internally, we title it a Member Service Representative, always putting members at the centre of everything we do.

 

This is a part-time position with a minimum of 15 hours per week, up to 30 hours per week depending on branch staffing need. Our Broadmead branch is open Monday to Saturday and we are looking for candidates with open availability on Monday, Friday and Saturday at minimum.

The Disputes Contact Centre Representative will respond to incoming inquiries or requests from our credit card clients in a pleasant, courteous, knowledgeable and professional manner. Dispute Contact Centre Representatives may also be assigned to make outbound calls to clients to resolvedisputes, educate the client on the dispute handling process, or to request additional information from the client.

 

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You can effectively perform all work activities remotely, and will only be required to be on-site on an occasional basis. 

 

We have embarked on an Agent@Home remote work program. All employees are required to meet the Agent@Home program requirements and be able to attend your primary work location within two hours’ notice for any business-related purposes.

 

Agent@Home Program Requirements

  • Ability to work independently as an Agent @ Home with a secure workspace, in a room or office with a door that closes it off from noises and distractions. 
  • Wired Internet connection, capable of continuously supporting excellent call quality and high-speed response rate (Internet connection can be connected to modem through hard cable (not wireless) with a minimum download speed of 15 mbps and upload speed of 10 mbps).
  • Satellite internet providers are prohibited and cannot be used due to the impact on call quality and the stability of service.

 

The start date for this role is November 4th, 2024. Contact Centre business hours are from Monday to Sunday, 8:00AM – 12:00AM. You must be flexible to work evening shifts including weekends and holidaysas your hours will be based on Contact Centre hours.

How you'll succeed 

  • Call Ownership –Respond to incoming calls or make outbound calls. Take complete ownership of calls in a friendly, courteous and professional manner. 

  • Data Collection –Gather information as required by Visa and MasterCard Operating Regulations to process and support chargeback. Request and send customer correspondence and follow up with customers when necessary. 

  • Decision Making –Resolve credit card application inquiries by utilizing current Review, Secured, Duplication, Missing and Verification rules. Processing credit limit change requests while using clear and empathetic judgements.
