Major Responsibilities Include:

• Participate in, and assist team with, the delivery of services and advice to clients’ risk managers and offices of general counsel.
• Provide advice to senior client contacts regarding their insurance programs, Aon deliverables, and in response to requests and inquiries.
• Prepare underwriting submissions and claims exhibits for commercial insurers.
• Draft and prepare policy documentation and endorsements and prepare wording comparisons across different risks, when necessary.

• Support the accurate organization and administration of clients’ claims data and its extraction for reporting purposes.

• Participate in business development within the practice and the exploration of new and evolving risks and potential risk transfer and risk financing solutions.
• Respond to queries from clients and commercial insurers.
• Support the preparation and issuance of verifications of insurance.
• Collaborate with colleagues in other Aon offices (New York, Chicago, London, Bermuda, and elsewhere) in the coordinated delivery of insurance programs and policies to clients.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

Will consider candidates with insurance broking, underwriting, actuarial, captive, or commercial insurance and claims experience – preferably in the professional liability line. Corporate risk management experience, especially in a Professional Services firm environment is a plus.

• Minimum three to seven years in related insurance experience
• Strong technical insurance knowledge in specialty lines, in particular professional liability, cyber, employment practices liability and management/directors & offices liability.
• Ability to coordinate, prioritize, and monitor workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

EPL is looking for a passionate and driven Customer Experience Events Specialist to deliver impactful and high-quality events in EPL spaces and virtual environments. This position will manage all aspects of the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of EPL events supporting Adult and Youth Services, the Teaching Kitchen, Indigenous Services, systems teams and other EPL events.

Responsibilities include:

• Act as the key point of contact with clients, partners, an internal staff to identify, plan, and execute high caliber events. 
• Collaborate with internal departments for the promotion of events and activities, booking performers, vendors, purchasing supplies, etc. 
• Oversee training of event space support staff and event volunteers.
• Streamline event processes and procedures to ensure the ongoing delivery of customer experience library events and services. 
• Make technology, facility, and process recommendations to enhance event, program and service delivery capacities. 
• Develop and maintain documentation and best practices to support event, program and service delivery, and prepare reports related to them. 
• Support the development and maintenance of up-to-date events information posted to EPL's web site and in printed materials. 
• Participate in ad hoc teams, as requested. Work cooperatively with all internal stakeholders to develop and implement programs that support the priorities of the Edmonton Public Library.

Qualifications

• Related degree with a minimum of three years of progressive experience in events management and/or managing complex projects.
• Excellent project management, communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
• Superior problem solving skills, a high level of organizational ability and ability to deal with multiple deadlines and demands.
• Strong decision making skills demonstrated by strategies that move the organization forward, effective goal setting, action plans and evaluation of successes and failures.
• Coursework in event planning and project management is an asset.
