The dairy scientist role will report to the corporate VP Cheese Applications and offers an exciting opportunity for passionate individuals to explore, innovate, and grow in the dairy technology field.

• Develop innovative technologies for modern dairy processing to enhance production efficiency and sustainability
• Create new concepts for manufacturing dairy products that align with health, sustainability, and taste trends

• Identify root causes and solve technical problems in dairy production processes
• Conduct bench-top and pilot-plant experiments to test and refine new dairy technologies and product formulations

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

• University degree in food technology, food engineering, or related qualifications
• 1-3 years of research and development experience, preferably in dairy
• Ability to understand and interpret modern analytical techniques
• Strong technical interest and knowledge in modifying and developing technical equipment, conducting trials, and experiments with pilot plants
• Strong organizational, multitasking, analytical, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent verbal and interpersonal skills, effective in liaising with internal and external partners
• Exceptional time management, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
• Highly self-motivated with a proactive approach
• Bilingual proficiency in French and English (spoken and written) is required, as the role involves daily interaction with internal and external stakeholders across Canada
• Must possess a valid Driver’s License

Salary Range: $78,170 - $102,600

Summary of duties:
Reporting to the maintenance supervisor, the post holder will be responsible for carrying out various maintenance and servicing tasks on equipment on the various lines.

Please note that there are two salary increases in the first year.

Available salary: $37.05

Evening premium of $1.25/h and night premium of $1.75/h

Schedule: night 3.2.2.3.

Contributing in this role is:
• Carrying out the installation, maintenance and mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic repair of equipment on the various production lines;
• Carrying out work according to established priorities, the availability of equipment and required materials;
• Facilitating compliance with deadlines and the efficiency of the production and packaging of dairy products;
• Communicating the progress of work and projects to the people concerned;
• Carrying out inspection and preventive maintenance of equipment;
• Resolving and repairing equipment in breakdown situations to ensure that production objectives are met;
• Providing training to plant employees, as needed;
• Working with external companies to complete projects;
• Carrying out electrical installations;
• Carrying out breakdown analyses and suggesting measures to improve process efficiency;
• Sanitary welding (TIG);
• Ensuring that planned work is carried out according to deadlines and performing all other related tasks.

The qualifications sought are:
• 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position;
• Post-secondary education in a related field (electromechanics, automation, etc.);
• Possess a certificate in electricity (license C) (an asset);
• Training and experience with PLC (an asset);
Mastery of common computer tools;
• Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical mind;
• Ability to work with minimal supervision;
• Initiative, proactivity and excellent work organization skills.

Under the supervision of the Vice President, Legal Affairs, Dairy Division (United States), you will provide administrative support to a team of lawyers. Your attention to detail and organizational skills will be essential in the production of various agreements and documents.

How You Will Make Contributions That Matter: 

• Providing administrative support to the legal team
• Tracking invoices and managing entries in the Ariba accounting system
• Maintaining the department's budget
• Assisting in the preparation of various legal documents
• Editing documents (handwritten or dictated)
• Using technological tools for the preparation and signature of contracts (DocuSign and others)
• Managing calendars, correspondence, and necessary follow-ups
• Opening and closing files
• Keeping internal records and databases up to date
• Planning and booking travel, as needed
• Preparing expense reports
• Performing any other related tasks

You Are Best Suited for The Role If You Have the Following Qualifications:

• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position
• Excellent proficiency in Excel and MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint) and Adobe Acrobat
• Strong interest in using technology
• Ability to anticipate needs, take initiative and work independently
• Tact, excellent judgment, great attention to detail, accuracy, discretion, and autonomy
• Customer service orientation and strong collaboration skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Professionalism and sense of priorities
• Good organizational skills, and professional curiosity
• Spoken and written bilingualism (French and English) is essential. The candidate will need to communicate and collaborate with colleagues and other stakeholders by email and phone, in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and/or North America
• Knowledge of the Ariba accounting system is a definite asset

You will assist with Maintenance, Engineering and Leadership to ensure safe, steady, and reliable operation of the units.

Key Accountabilities

• Learn the unit layout, purpose and operating parameters of the assigned systems 
• Operate and monitor process equipment 
• Assist in maintenance and repair of process equipment
• Troubleshoot and diagnose upsets and problems 
• Rotate job positions as directed by the Shift Team Leader
• Assist the Shift Team Leader to assess incidents and participate in Team Safety Meetings and follow up on assigned items

What you Bring to the Role:

• 3 to 5 years of industry experience with High School diploma or GED 
• Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate required, 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate preferred. 
• Familiarity with and understanding of Cogen Units, HP Boiler Plants, Steam Turbines, and Water Treatment. 
• A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent)
