We are searching for a User Experience (UX) Designer to support the delivery of UX design initiatives in collaboration with other designers, the brand and creative services and customer experience teams, and other key business stakeholders. The Role
Reporting to the Manager, Digital Services, you add value and are energized by key areas of oversight such as:

  • Bringing BC Ferries’ brand to life with creative digital designs and ensure that user experience, design and content on the website, app and intranet align with the overall business strategy, including the brand and customer experience strategies;
  • Developing and prototype design enhancements for e-commerce website, app and other digital assets as required, through data-driven decisions and in alignment with the customer experience strategy;
  • Working with development team on UAT testing and delivery and execution of improvements;
  • Demonstrating prototypes to internal and external stakeholders and perform customer testing;
  • Contributing to creation and maintenance of schedule content on the website (SAP Hybris), app (React Native), and other media as required;
  • Acting as key point of contact for issues and requests relating to online schedules and internal websites, as well as digital signage;
  • Supporting audio and video media preparation, management and distribution through internal and offsite storage and retrieval services;
  • Participating in ideation and vision mapping sessions with key stakeholders;
  • Troubleshooting and recommend fixes for multi-device user interfaces and booking flows;
  • Reviewing customer input, website analytics reports and data to identify and resolve UX pain points;
  • Participating in multi device and multi OS testing of web and app enhancements;
  • Training, coaching and supporting the development of junior designers;
  • Supporting larger design capital projects and other data driven customer experience initiatives;
  • Developing and maintaining a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures;
  • Working closely with various departments and cross-functional working groups in support of business initiatives;

 

What you bring to the team

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, User Experience Design, Marketing or related field
  • Minimum 4-6 years working in a user experience design role for ecommerce sites
  • Experience supporting mission critical websites, content management systems and related applications in a complex, fast-paced business environment
  • Experience conducting user testing research
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a complex organization
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with key stakeholders
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React
  • Proficient in using prototyping, web design and graphic design applications
  • Ability to provide user access and training for digital applications
  • Ability to accurately transcribe complex data sets into readable formats

  • Performing additional duties including stocking the Coffee Shop and general Terminal stores; handling baggage and lost and found items; conducting security rounds; driving the forklift; participating in fire drills and responding to emergency situations; moving furniture; shoveling and salting snow and ice; handling ships lines; and operating rescue boats, garbage compactors, and terminal vehicles.

You are an excellent communicator and work well in a team environment.   • Develop and optimize customer lifecycle strategies and end-to-end customer journeys using a customer-centric, data-informed approach.

  • Collaborate closely with BCAA internal teams and external partners to deliver integrated campaigns across digital, print, and in-person channels. 

  • Build brand presence through community partnerships, events, and activations that engage members and strengthen BCAA’s reputation. 

  • Manage budgets, track performance, and optimize campaigns to ensure maximum reach, engagement, and ROI.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field; post-graduate education is an asset.

  • 7–10 years of progressive, senior-level marketing experience with a proven track record of growing products, services, or brands.

  • Minimum of 5 years of people leadership experience, including managing and developing manager-level direct reports.

  • Demonstrated experience in start-up or new product environments, ideally within mobility and/or two-sided marketplace businesses.

  • Proven success developing and executing integrated, multi-channel marketing campaigns.

  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing marketing budgets and performance targets.

  • Expertise across both digital and traditional marketing channels.

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to solve complex problems and adapt quickly in evolving environments.

  • Bonus Skills and Experience:

The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $150,000 and is determined viajob-related knowledge, skills, experience, certifications, market demand and internal equity. In addition to base salary and BCAA benefits, this position is eligible for a performance bonus target of 12.5%, with the opportunity to earn up to 20%.   

 

Please note that this is a hybrid role based out of our Burnaby, BC office (3 on-site / 2 remote days). Applicants who are not located within commuting distance of our Head Office or are not looking to relocate to the Greater Vancouver/Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley region will not be considered

  • Support and coordinate events including project launches, Realtor functions, and client appreciation gatherings, managing logistics, catering, venue setup, and communications across digital and traditional media (ie. Eblasts, social media, signage etc..)
  • Coordination of Presentation Centre operations and launches including set-up, supplies coordination, auctions, deficiencies and shut downs.
  • Graphic design skills with the ability to create and resize print and digital ads, signage (aboards, mesh panels and misc. signs), corporate branding and eblast/promotional emails.
  • Complete marketing administrative work such as invoicing, vendor payment forms, budget reports and liaising with accounting.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Understanding of Vancouver’s residential real estate development industry is required
  • A valid driver’s license and a vehicle are required
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a related role
  • Experience with Meta Business Suite, SEO, website management, and analytics tools (Google Analytics, SEMrush, etc.)

In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Marketing Director, Industrial, to drive sales and marketing efforts across all projects. Your focus will be on project marketing execution throughout the sales cycle, implementing targeted industrial marketing and communication initiatives, managing budgets, and overseeing day-to-day marketing operations. This position offers direct exposure to major transactions, new developments, and a diverse range of marketing applications. You’ll collaborate regularly with key Beedie stakeholders, including our broader Beedie team, brokers, consultants, vendors, and external design and marketing firms. Industrial Marketing & Communications

  • Work closely with Marketing Director, Industrial to determine, activate, and achieve the annual Industrial Marketing Strategy & Communication plan in accordance with stated corporate and divisional objectives via the activation of an OGST framework (Objectives, Goals, Strategies, Tactics)
  • Develop annual and quarterly project-specific and industrial marketing budgets aligned with strategic goals, campaign objectives, and business forecasts. Prioritize spending based on expected ROI, while balancing short-term campaign execution with long-term brand-building initiatives.
  • Manage the implementation of key industrial-specific marketing and communication initiatives including regional and national advertising campaigns, press releases, and other media opportunities
  • Manage Beedie’s social media channels: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, while working with a third-party social media consultant
  • Manage the execution of all Beedie Industrial events
  • Create and manage the design and implementation of effective marketing toolkits, brochures, swag, etc. for the Industrial team to utilize
  • Manage the creation and distribution of email marketing campaigns through Beedie’s internal CRM and Email Marketing software
  • Manage the evolution and maintenance of the Industrial segment of Beedie’s Corporate website
  • Track and advocate for new market trends specific to platforms, technologies, and marketing tools

Implementation of Project Marketing & Sales Strategies

  • Oversee all project marketing execution through the sales cycle including the development of project marketing/sale strategies and budgeting, right through to project naming and brand design, collateral suite creation, and sales campaign activation
  • Manage Beedie’s project listing teams to ensure all external-facing marketing campaigns and collateral are executed at an industry-leading standard

Brand Guardianship

  • Advocate the importance of the Beedie brand, consistency of messaging, and quality marketing solutions
  • Ensure Beedie’s visual guidelines and standards are adhered to, and all marketing collateral and activities are aligned to our brand position and standards
  • Continuously identify and act on new opportunities for audience growth and brand awareness, through the further development of external communications to enhance brand presence

Leadership

  • Act as a Marketing team leader and inspire all members, through leading by example, to contribute fully to the achievement of objectives laid out in annual departmental and individual goals
  • Provide mentorship to team members through team building and maintaining a culture of growth, development, loyalty, and engagement
  • Work with the Marketing Director, Industrial to conduct an annual audit of existing communications strategies, messages, and tactics to ensure consistency with the Industrial division’s business objectives
  • Advocate for and facilitate the sharing of best marketing practices across all offices
