RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property, assets, and personnel.
• Makes periodic patrols to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.
• Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
• Controls access to client site or facility through the admittance process.
• Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle; checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked entrances and exits, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
• Satisfies client needs by providing excellent customer service while minimizing risk to client property and assets.
• Monitors intrusion detection systems using automated alarm and video monitoring software.
• Uses computer systems and software to monitor sites and complete basic trainings.
• Maintains focus and awareness while working in a stressful environment, which includes noise from alarms, machinery and people, crowd distractions, time pressure, in order to preserve the professional ability to identify and locate potentially life-threatening situations and make effective decisions in both crisis and routine situations.
• Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations.
• Conducts inbound/outbound package inspections.
• Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents or conditions following procedures established for the site and commensurate with their level of training.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Must have valid provincial Security Guard License
• Must have a valid First Aid and CPR Certification
• Working knowledge of security operations and procedures
• Reliable means of transportation
• Excellent organizational skills
• Able to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports.
• Basic computer skills such as the ability to use Microsoft Office.
• Able to walk, stand, and conduct patrols.

Overview of the role:

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position will provide effective leadership, supervision and direction of maintenance employees on assigned shifts to ensure the effective delivery of maintenance services. Includes planning, assigning, directing work, addresses challenges and ensures objectives are met for safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.

How you will make contributions that matter:

• Ensure safety, sanitation, HACCP, BRC, GMP policies are practiced; 
• Provide leadership to maintenance personnel through coaching and assessment;

• Conduct daily inspection of work area; 
• Conduct accident/incident investigations, prepare necessary report and communicate to line Management, Health & Safety personnel and Health & Safety Committee member(s); 
• Other duties as assigned. 

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred (or Electro-mechanic license) with Electro-mechanical background
• Minimum of 2 years plant maintenance experience in a Supervisory capacity.
• Must have proven supervisory abilities and experience to engage a team of senior skilled trades.
• Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices and experience leading and following Safety Policies and Procedures.
• Ability to follow all Sanitation, Quality Policies and Procedures, report and follow through on any deficiencies.

• Strong team player and leader with the ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines.

Description: 

• Perform preventative maintenance & servicing to Building related mechanical equipment.
• Investigate and troubleshoot faulty Hangar Doors, Overhead doors, fire doors, etc.
• Ability to install, maintain, repair, dismantle, and reassemble machinery.
• Ability to use welding equipment, hand, and power tools as necessary.
• Perform minor repairs including replacement of gearboxes, sprockets, chains, door

• Perform visual inspections of buildings to maintain Building Code standards.
• Ability to do repair and maintenance on HVAC unit.

Qualifications

• Must posses valid Driver’s licence with clean abstract
• Must posses an Interprovincial Journeyman Millwright license or Red Seal
• Must posses a Tag1 Gas license, Halocarbure Gas license and Refrigeration license CCQ.

You must be able to start on Jan 28 2025 and attend our online class on Jan 27 9AM-1PM if you are selected for hire. You must have a drivers licence and your own vehicle. No exceptions. • Ensure conflicts are mitigated and responded to.
• Maintain security of perimeter and ensure management can get access to the site.
• Deter trespassers from the site, ensuring picketers are able to protest peacefully.
• Monitor and respond to any and all disputes, de-escalate situations and ensure both parties are safe.
• Protect client assets, property and people.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Valid Ontario Security License.
• Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate. 
• Experience with labour disputes is an asset but not required.
• Must have your own vehicle.
• Able to sit in a vehicle for extended periods of time.
